Thanks for this, Nostrajimmus! I've been curious about where those shows ended up, but they had kind of faded into obscurity (even though I heard Purple Worm was fun).

As far as I know it never launched in the U.K. or Europe. But even if it had the time difference would have resulted in everything airing at odd hours. Why they didn’t just launch a Twitch or KZbin channel baffles me. Or take lessons from Drop Out and launch a streaming app. It’s not like other companies haven’t already done the trial and error on what works

They never did release it properly in Canada despite claiming it was available on Plex... My guess is they fired the people involved before it was actually solid (the people who knew anything about what was going on) and corporate nonsense swallowed it into forgotten memory.

Sounds like a pet project that has been abandoned though your theory about complex financial schemes also sounds reasonable.

i suspect we'll never actually know

Perplexing decisions by the people making movies and streaming shows have often left me wondering if there is a real-life version of _The Producers_ scheme, where they make money by causing their production to lose money.

@@Dorian_sapiens Makes you wonder with all the complicated financial schemes going on at the most elite levels of corporate finance.

@@wizardsling Could you cite some examples of the "Cultural approbation" or "Casual racism and Misogyny". Those are pretty serious claims, but you offer no proof.

What content was “problematic “? I guess I wasn’t paying close enough attention while it was on in the background….like you, I was always doing something else while on. They really jumped the gun launching this, with no apparent plan🤷🏼♂️…and yes it was tedious to get to the channel…..

I'm truthfully watching the cartoon on D&DA right this moment, and I try to catch Faster, Purple Worm nightly. Yet I've never met another person who has heard of the channel.

I just found this channel ... like 10mins ago lol on samsung tv. It was very unexpected

The 80's D&D cartoon has been free to watch on KZbin for years now.

from what i recall reading it was part of a deal eone made, then eone was sold off after the movie was not a runaway blockbuster windfall so the partner (G4TV) was left on their own with it and then they failed again and shut down

Far flung theory time, put on your tin foil hats! Lionsgate now owns eOne, likely not a fan of the setup to these obscure, hard to use free services. Lionsgate also still owns Geek & Sundry, which has a new actual play after years of dormancy. I wonder IF G&S is being used to test what we already know (KZbin is a better place for the content on this D&D channel).
