Update from a couple of months ago, 2 friends made and some advice to give for those looking for friends. Look in smaller communities that have your interest, and try to remain engaged in them. If you just sit passively and write "ok" or "cool" for your responses you won't get anywhere, try to get to know the people more and focus on yourself less

It's like talking to a friend about gaming. Critical yet Positive is how I describe it.

Eh, why be worried? I'm 28 and besides some horrendously shit life events transpiring, every year since 20 has felt pretty similar in terms of my age. Kids give me back problems, I have stress, I have memory issues, I laugh, I love, I cry, I play great games, I listen to metal and I rinse/repeat.

So far I've been through miscarriages, 2 separations, almost killed in a car crash (truck hit us), just lost my job of 4 years, losing my hair, 3 failed suicide attempts, parents divorced after 21 years of marriage, lived in a caravan for a month, frequent migraines, and kids on the spectrum with really hectic developmental issues. So if you're here to tell me it's going to get better in 2 years, then I'm chuffed. If you're saying it somehow gets worse, that's quite a claim haha.

I used to work for an indie movie chain. Major studios would send boxes of free branded promotional material to the theaters--hats, shirts, random items relevant to the movie--for upcoming releases. Do game studios do that? It was a fun perk of the job. Had so many random shirts/items branded for movies I still have never seen.

Dudeee. I’ve been yelling from the hilltops how great Signalis is. Loved every second of it. As an old school survival horror game fan, it felt absolutely made for me. So much style. Also, I lived in Germany for a while and speak decent German, and I appreciate that a LOT of the German was left untranslated in many of the cutscenes and game assets, added a little extra something for me haha

I would love to ask you about resolution modes on next gen consoles. For most games they have fidelity and performance modes which target 30 and 60fps. I don’t seem to get tho that 1440p/1080p resolution doesn’t increase the fps on consoles. It takes less processing power than 4k, so it should logically improve framerates. Thanks for the vids dude!

I'd actually really like to know your thoughts on Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It often gets lumped in with Conviction as "bad SC", but I reckon there was plenty it did very right by fans and the game had so much content. As an old-school SC fan, I loved it.

Think The Last of Us: Part II level of detail in terms of blood and dismemberment mechanics while having a fast-paced action tone for its gameplay. A bit of psychological horror, too. Both Anger Foot and Project Downfall have great ideas... just not within the kind of game I'm looking for. I am working my ass off to find a way to make that possible in the future... but that's mostly wishful thinking at this point. Hahahah.

Mr. Freeze as a villain can bring so much to the character of Batman or Bruce Wayne if they decide to go that route. Sheesh the animated series did such a good job at establishing how multifaceted Batman’s villains could be. Also Chameleon as a villain?? That’s definitely an underrated villain who doesn’t get enough praise. I imagine their currently juggling Kraven as the next villain in some capacity. Especially with his new movie.

The Halo:Reach special edition (not the one with the statues) for me was so cool. Every now and then I still crack open Halsey’s journal and read through her life as an ONI scientist seeing what her thought process was in creating the Spartans and how the appearance of aliens impacted her and her research… ‘nough said! My point is that it’s a preorder I enjoyed beyond the actual game itself.

I've said this before. The Day Before is made by people who have previously given up on games. I think maybe they even renamed themselves after the fact. They add in all of these assets anyone can buy to make the game look good, but they get people to buy it and then abandon it.
