So much of our time in Chiapas was spent with the amazing people in Los Altos. They mean so much to our family. I hope this video was a small peek into what an incredible people and place this is.

They people's thumbprint is gilded on your heart, this video was beautiful. Many indigenous languages in the US were lost, I hope we can learn how to preserve the vitality of this culture.

Why am I crying lol ? My dad and his siblings look exactly like some people on this video. (I Don’t know anyone else from my fathers side besides them) Now that I’m getting older I see how drastically my life differs compared to my own parent. Needing to raise my brother (rip) and I in such opposite manner is a reminder of how strong my parents are. I wish I would of listened and asked more questions about our history. Maybe I still can. Thank you for sharing those last words.

Thanks for that insight. I lived in that region for 5 years but I missed the appreciation for the indigenous people. Hopefully I get another chance.

Thank you. This was a very heartful depiction of a native people and land. I am looking to visit Chiapas, and learning more about it. Many of the videos I see are for tourists, and while that is a valid level of experience I am also interested in making a deeper connection. I don't know if this is possible as I am an outsider, but what we have in modern America in terms of modern technology and advances we also sorely lack in soulful appreciation of life, nature, and relationships with each other. Ultimately, I am seeking a heartful connection with an ancient sense of purpose and place. Maybe I will find it in Chiapas ...

I wish I had viewed this video before we went to Chaipas. It would have explained so much that we saw. I love your humanity. Your caring, and tender feelings towards these people, and I expect many people of different cultures. I will continue watching your other videos.

The people of Chiapas are amazing. We lived there for 7 months and I would go back in a heartbeat. We still have many friends there that I keep in touch with. I feel very privileged to have been invited into some of the inner circles of indigenous communities. These people have so little, yet live happy and beautiful lives. Thanks for your comments 😁

What a special place and people to visit and live with your family. I am so jealous about the excellent experiences with you and family I don't think your kids fully appreciate all these experiences but one day they will look back on these memories and fully cherish them. You have both done a great job with those kids to help them see some of the world and the experiences will always change them for the better! Look at your mark you have left with your family in places!

Thanks so much. It is a special place and people for sure. The kids definitely don't fully appreciate it right now... but maybe making these videos will help them look back someday.

I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but It's not a place to go as a tourist. The exception being San Juan Chamula which has tours. We visited Los Altos with humanitarian organizations.
