With all the Army paraphernalia (the folded flags, etc) it's safe to assume that Sanctuary Hills was a community for Veterans and families of War heroes. Communities for service families is and was an actual thing. This would explain all the well off homes and cars. Would also add context to the use of the word SANCTUARY. The war is over...for now.

That would add more context to Vault 111s cryogenic experiment. Why bother to release the unwitting participants later? Because most likely have combat/medic/leadership experience that would enable them to survive for at least a little while. Combined with their 'pure' DNA, you got a good chance of establishing humanity again.

17:30 - No, fission fuel shortages were a thing too. The lore clearly states that they were running out of Plutonium and Uranium. Fusion was the big breakthrough that would have averted The War... Had it matured just a few years earlier. I can easily see Fission-Fusion car mods being a thing among enthusiasts. I'd say that the yellow paint on the blue house is probably because before the war it used to be a yellow house but they painted it blue and the detention was so powerful that it burned of the blue paint and set it back to yellow

The answer is in the name I think, Stimpak. They're stimulants, which are often used as diet aids IRL. Presumably in the Fallout verse they heal you by greatly increasing your metabolic rate which would burn up a bunch of calories. Models are notoriously addicted to dieting.

I don't understand why everyone gets so upset about typos in terminal entries. Typos in the game, yeah it is kind of irritating. However, typos in a terminal entry written by a human being is just immersive. It's incredibly unimmersive that every single human being in this world spells everything perfectly or they spend the time to edit every single one of their terminal entries, even the personal ones that no one cares about. I don't even like it when random post-war terminals have perfect spelling in them when logically the people would have had very limited educations. I think with the dogs and the xcell it's the fact that it boosts all of your stats by 2, making the dogs more dangerous. I think that's the issue he takes. "You guys want to do drugs, I can supply you, but don't give dangerous drugs to your dogs so that they become a danger to the entire neighborhood. You take drugs and die, I have to live with that. You give drugs to your dogs and they kill children in the neighborhood, we all have to live with that."

Michael Scarpo but the vechiles next is that for theory I think the missing vechils and the red car were from scavengers who were looting but he raiders who killed the guy with the pipe pistol were killed by the 10 scavengers who then exited sanctuary hills had the red cars blasted by a almost dead raider who was able to to blast the red car then the raider died and then the 6 remaining scavengers got out of Sanctuary putted all the body’s in the river but the one guy who got led and that’s why we find som raiders are at the sanctuary lake

Wow, the first thing comes into my mind in the beginning of the video was the developers didn't mind re-create everything regarding skeletons next to the fences because it was irrelevant and mirror thing speaking from a casual player perspective and I thought it's just because of that developers didn't place mirror things how it was before the war. But after this video, I realised that developers are geniuses, that actually crafted every aspect of the game. And you Sir, author of the video I would like to thank that you investigate this every single aspect of the mirror things of the game which I find very very interesting. The people of Boston don't remember the rules or even the _nature_ of _baseball,_ America's "national pastime", played in its more-or-less modern form from around 230 years before the bombs fell until likely the instant the bombs went off, yet _somehow_ they know not only the _name_ but even the _spelling_ of _Publick Occurrences (Both Forreign and Domestick),_ the country's first multi-page newspaper, that ran for _one single _*_solitary_*_ issue_ in _1690,_ 387 years before the bombs fell and _497_ years before the main events of _Fallout 4._ What's up with that?

Actually, an addon or a pre war section for the next fallout game would be amazing. This fifties futurist utopian-dystopian world with rocket cars with nuclear reactors, but still everything clean, green, I would love to explore that world. It was a good idea to include this pre war part at the beginning of F4, but I really wanted to see more. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wished to leave Sanctuary hills and see more of that still intact world!

In two different runs I ran into the Rosas, and other Sanctuary Hill residents as Feral Ghouls in the ruins of Boston or its suburbs. Once was in the neighborhood across the lake from Vault 81 and the other time was in that two story shop between Lexington and Cambridge south of the Corvega Plant. Both times I sent them to their final rest, I viewed those killings as mercy killings. Living on as a brain fried feral ghoul is no life.

It's so sad that a lot of the neighbors went feral. Wonder if they all went feral immediately upon ghoulifaction. They all stuck together even after 210 years, so it's possible they didn't, but stayed together as a group, because they were all each other had and even as ferals they just flocked together. It would have been crazy had the sole survivor came out of the vault and all of their neighbors were still living in sanctuary as non feral ghouls. I can't imagine that they would be happy to seem them simply because they would still be as youthful and healthy as the day they went in the vault. And the fact they they even got in the vault. Sure, they all would have died had they made it in like the other residents did, but I doubt they would give the sole survivor a chance to explain any of that or believe them. They very likely would have been extremely bitter.

I did what I could to build up Sanctuary to become a small city with 4-5 story buildings everywhere. This was an interesting video, especially after spending a small chunk of my life meticulously building there. This game and location holds a special meaning to me and it helped give me extra hope for the future.

Somebody would have had to move the zip because the nuclear blast would have pushed the car away from the street, not closer to the house. That means somebody maybe moved it so it would be faster to pack it, but didn’t have enough time to escape.

I think I said this before but after this (I never made the connection with the ghouls) I'm even more sure Vault Tec and the Military had something to do with who lived in Sanctuary Hills and got into Vault 111. Think about it there is a lot of evidence that many of the people who lived there were veterans or their families (I have a feeling Mrs. Rosa was a war widow and the people who were likely the Parkers lived in the house with the barricade almost certainly were) or professionals Dr's, Lawyers etc. and that their genetic background was somehow known to the Government and Vault Tec. If you look at the Pre-war Sanctuary it looks brand new. None of the trees have matured much and it doesn't have a lot of the things you'd expect from a long established community. There is much more to the people and events at sanctuary than meets the eye.

There’s potential proof that the government kept records of its people. When you go to the USS Constitution a Mr. Handy greets you and searches his database to verify your identity. You could assume that maybe the Sole Survivor visited there before when the bombs dropped, hence why the robot can recognize you, but your ID it gives you is a lengthy serial code and it knows your occupation as well. Seems to me that the robot has access to a government database (since it works at a federal monument) that can match a person’s ID with just their face and body.

Does people become ferals straight way? Pehaps they became ghouls and stayed at Sanctuary for while, trying to live their lives as they were before, until they couldn't do it anymore. Since we find them wandering together as ferals, it's most likely that they spend a lot of time together as a group, loosing members along the way.

I think the Halloween decor is there from before the bombs. The bombs fell in October 27, so many places had their Halloween decorations but Bethesda dint bother to put those details in prewar Sanctuary because it wasn't meant to be explored.

Well the vertibird is probably the one at the museum of history, we know power armor is precious so it was probably looted and most ground military vehicles (especially IFVs and APCs) can survive through EMPs so the IFV that’s in the pond by sanctuary is probably the one that was there in the road

Hey Ox, the issue with fissible material in the FO universe is that it was also becoming really scarce. The US was the only country implementing fusion technology and didn't want to share it with the rest of the world, Especially not with China which was still dependend of fossil fuels and uranium. The decline of aiding China with fusion tech was the last drop which led to the ressource war. Pre War US produced more energy than they could ever use up. Thanks to fusion tech. But most civilians still used cars using petrol or fission.

Which can be analogous to the US trade sanctions for Japan prior to the bombing of Pearl Harbour. Prior to WW2 Japan relied on the US for much of it's resources, especially oil, and cutting that off was one theoretical reason why Japan bombed Pearl Harbour, thus bringing the US into WW2. Keep in mind prior to Pearl Harbour, Japan was mainly fighting in China.

This also could be compounded by the military restricting civilian access to fissable materials due to wartime need- all in-game missile warheads and munitions seem to be fission-based (tiny yield with high level of radiation) and the use of depleted uranium for ammo (even of the common kinds like 50cal) manufacture is canon. And since the US had sites capable of mass-manufacturing new nukes like those in appalachia, that'd imply they were stockpiling...

rosa's is always my primary spot. i usually put all the workbenches in the car port and build a bedroom with a bobblehead rack and magazine racks in what used to be the kitchen at rosa's. sanctuary has that river which usually gets 6 - 8 water purifiers. i'll build shops in the houses and the foundations of the ruined houses are great for new buildings. i like to built my own "institute" usually at coastal cottage, because it's a crappy spot to build a regular settlement. this consists of a big concrete bunker that is completely inaccessible except by fast travel. i'll keep all my fancy power armors and really cool/rare weapons/armor there, but sanctuary is almost always where i keep all my regular stuff and do all my crafting.

Actually I think I have a slightly good explanation for why Sanctuary is like this. The lack of dead bodies means a few of the people at the gates might've became Ghouls who got rid of the bodies so they wouldn't have to remember the dead faces of their neighbors whenever they came to the gates, and they only missed a few. It's also possible that whoever lived at the house at the makeshift bunker might've allowed some others to go into the bunker and they only came out after food began running low. It's possible the Rosa Family might've also survived, and after creating the workbench and power armor station and stuff they claimed the house had their own by putting their name on the mailbox. For the blue house turned yellow, whoever lived there might've turned into Ghouls and decided to try and keep their lives as normal as possible by painting their house and setting up decorations
