clubs don't choose to sell their best players , the club budget is the decidal factor. imagine a player salary 100K and he performed very well during the season you need to raise his salary but your budget can't afford more than 250K, and in the same time you have big clubs contacting him and proposing 1M or 2M salary. now the player is distracted and want to leave , the best thing to do is to sell him and gain some money otherwise it will be like the Mbappe case , the player will not extend his contract and will wait for a free transfer
