I bought an 91 sw20 mr2 turbo just before the pandemic and it has doubled in value in just 2 years. To boot I could not be less interested in selling it. The kind of car that you just sit in the drive way and stare at. I pinch myself every time I take it out on a back road. It has the cargo space for me to carry a car cover and go for groceries no problems. Surprisingly it's also very spacious on the inside. I'm 6'1 and about 220lbs and I have plenty of leg room. Really incredible cars and still a bargain for the driving experience. I've personally found the snap oversteer criticism largely over exaggerated. If you understand how to drive a Porsche they handle very similarly to the second gen mr2s. Don't lift of the throttle mid corner, left foot brake if you experience understeer, keep the revs between 3-5.5k rmps for best response. Best purchase decision I've ever made.

Favorite gen is by far the third gen spyder, it’s the best platform to build on. Yes it’s ugly stock but would a jdm sports car be what it is without loads of modifications to make it personally your own? The sky is the limit with these cars, the fact that they are pretty much 1000 lbs lighter than most other sports cars on the road and are mid engine gives them very fun and fast characteristics. Mine has fender flares 17x9 wheels and celica spec d headlights, celica seats and is lowered over 4 inches. All that’s left is to engine swap and make as much power as I can afford and nothing out there will be able to match its performance. I love the second gen for what it did for the jdm community but my heart will always be with my spyder.

Alex, take a breath! I bought a 1987 AW11 back when it was new (yes, I'm that old). I found it refreshingly pure and simple; a sports car that was missing the one common element of sports cars of my youth - reliability. The car was a bit quirky with it's origami inspired styling but it was fairly light and just a delight to drive. Fast forward to 2013 and I wanted another one - problem was that they were all rusted away or modded by folks with a PB&J sandwich budget. But after awhile I scored a 1991 N/A SW20. Piled on a bunch of love and resurrected it in my (tiny) garage. Then a few years later I upgraded it to a GEN4 turbo engine (260HP). Now I've got a kick ass machine that is pure fun. I highly recommend any of the MR2 series.

Toyota: *makes a new MR2 in partnership with Audi, however it is a shitty, and underwhelming cash grab that looks nothing like MR2s from the past. Markets it as a return of Toyota’s more sportive side, affordable for young adults Also Toyota: That’ll be 60K :|

I have owned a lot of mr2's. The spyder is criminally underrated. My V6 Mk2 was my favourite and most versatile.

Still have my 91'Turbo Mr2, Blown it up multiple times but worth the rebuild every time! Also one of the only cars to appreciate from the average consumer market.

My sister's husband did car mods in early 2000's and he put a Ferrari bodykit on one of these for a customer. Looked amazing

I used to own one wish I never sold it. Such a fun car. They need to re-introduce the MR2 with t-tops. A feature that should have never gone away. Oh, and not butcher the new design with styling from every sedan in their lineup the way Acura did with the new Integra.

You should just turn it into an MR2 channel and only talk about MR2s.

My first car was a gen 2 MR2 back in 1999. It was fun. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one again.

I had a 2nd gen MR2 Turbo in Spectra Blue Metallic and it was one of the most fun and by far most uncomfortable cars I had ever sat in. My lower back would be killing after about 20 minutes of driving it lol

@@supers0nic77 I have a Black 1989 AW11 Supercharged - Silver Metallic 1987 AW11 N/A - Black 1993 SW20 NA Hardtop - 1994 Tropical Blue Metallic T Top Turbo - Dark Emerald Pearl 1995 Hardtop Turbo - 1995 Turquoise Pearl T Top NA - 2005 Phantom Grey Pearl. It took a while to get them but man I love every single one. All low miles but I don’t care, I drive them as that’s what they were meant to be, not sitting collecting dust. Hope to import a TRD 2000 GT, a SW20 Spider, and and a 1999 Purple SW20.

@@supers0nic77 Yes get a SW20 and AW11 if you can there amazing!! My first and second car ever was a MR2 was second gen na. Not the fastest but its amazing. I still own it. It’s a 1993 NA Super Red if you click on my channel it’s on my banner, picture is a few years old but it now has a GReddy kit and it’s dipped in wicked wine color. But it’s still na and it’s just a blast to drive even though I have the turbo ones, nothing beats driving the first MR2 that got me hooked into wanting to get more of these cars.

I saw a mr2 street racing as a kid. I know that’s not smart now, but as a kid, that left such a huge impression on me. I’m fortunate to have had several MR2’s, and I currently own a NA 93 MR2 and supercharged V6 93 MR2 They are the best cars ever! I would love Toyota to bring back the mr2, but I’m afraid they’ll mess it, like Honda recently did…

I bought my first sw20 last month and kinda hate it, but it's not the original car, it's how it's been tuned. I'd love to see the nameplate make a comeback.
