That's not a Wasp! That's a Kestrel! The Kestrel is featured in Spartan Strike, the sequel to Spartan Assault. It functions similarly to a ghost without a boost, but with grenade cannons similar to the gungoose. I believe it was also a canceled vehicle from Halo 2.

@@TheBl00D1u5t I didn't enjoy them as much. They were creative, but I went for 100% and they were pretty grundy. Still, for $5, it's not a bad option for people on a budget. Local multiplayer for the Steam version would have made it so much better.

Yeah I’m pretty sure it was found in the game files for halo 1 pc and was supposed to be in the multiplayer. I would’ve loved to see a flying vehicle with the CE physics engine lmao

There was a cut falcon in Halo 2, but the kestrel was actually designed by the people at Mega Bloks as a part of the ONI reap-x line, and then made canon as a UNSC craft in Spartan Strike. It might've been partially inspired by the cut Halo 2 falcon though.

Sad this got scrapped, but I'm glad Mega got the Halo license instead of Lego. When I was a kid Mega Bloks was seen as the cheap knockoff, but they've massively stepped things up over the years. Their Halo and Pokemon sets are really high quality, and they're not ludicrously overpriced like Lego's stuff is. Now if only Microsoft would take the action figure license away from Jazwares, that company is fucking terrible. The old McFarlane figures didn't have a lot of articulation, but at least the sculpts and paint were good.

i completely agree with you on the first part, it would've been a complete tragedy if lego got the license for the halo series but honestly the Jazware figures are actually pretty good! lots of articulation & yeah while the paint could use some improvement they're way better than the mcfarlane figs especially the later series like the halo 4 & 5 figures where articulation & quality dropped significantly

Have to agree with you on all those points, especially regarding the figures. I like Jazwares attempts, but they literally gave up trying to get their products out in the UK. Was never a problem for McFarlane.

You can paint the figures better yourself lol. I’d rather have a figure that can actually pose and have good articulation than a good paint job because I can always paint it. Even a simple wash does so much for the figures.

This game would have been great and if successful would have warranted the creation of many licensed video games, such as a TMNT or Power Rangers and more. The build for this "prototype" looks very complete the mix of halo gameplay and the building/crafting gameplay is incredibly well done and would have made for a cool game. The charm/silly tone with the covenant is also good to see as this is something the game needs and LEGO's titles aim for this as well it's a massive missed opportunity for both microsoft and Mega as the assets, environments, graphics and overall aesthetic of the game looked great and would have certainly played well having good combat, mild puzzle solving, Crafting and a wide sandbox and platforming there's no way this game wouldn't have been a hit can't understand why they canned it all they had to do was let it be a parody of Halo CE just make it goofy, lighthearted and fun , as it seemed like it was going there anyway.

As a person who has both a lot to Lego from various sets and a lot of Halo Mega Bloks, I honestly think that Mega Bloks are way better. Much more movement in the figures, more figure customization more block types and with that more detail in even the smallest sets. It's just better.

They talk about chasing a 'broader audience' and scrap this project. Although I do like how Lego don't have realistic weapons. As a game aimed at children I would have changed these weapons to be more cartoonish and have more constructing elements or megablocks, maybe some Minecraft elements. Really good looking game.

7:59 (pushes up nerd glasses and sniffs) actually that was a mega bloks introduced vehicle called the "Kestrel". It was later on implemented into one of the Spartan mobile games. It functions similar to that of a ghost and cannot fly very far off the ground.

Dude honestly I dunno why there’s never been a mega blocks title…. I always thought mega blocks made some cool sets in the early 2000s with the pirates of the Caribbean sets for example and with cod & halo . The halo stuff is just so cool , plus the new styles with the clip on armour is a really cool thing that made the halo sets stand out . Shame they scrapped this idea… I think there’s hope though

there's a Halo 3 easter egg that can no longer be searched, some people called it the grunt triforce, some people called it a monolith, I forget which map it was, if I could find the video that I watched years ago, I could tell you which campaign mission, it was an interesting one, it certainly had a picture of a grunt in a triangle and a specific piece of music plays too, this video doesn't seem to be searchable on KZbin anymore, if I remember correctly, it has to do with the hidden music achievement on the level The Covenant but going further than the tutorials say, by going up that wall and going about some areas, you can find the picture of a grunt somewhere on a big monolith of metal type wall

Hey guys at rocket sloth I don’t know if you would be able to get in touch with some of the speed running community because I found I think a rare occurrence that i don’t know if it can be duplicated. It’s on halo ce and on truth and reconciliation where you fighting over the gravity lift up to the ship. Me and my girls friend had the waves of enemies come down and we were able to kill three waves before the grunts and jackles would jump of the ship, where normally they would jump off you kill them and then the waves come down. But I would love to have people do some testing because that could be a viable option In bring the world record down maybe some more.

Man, i really wish this got finished!!!! The Halo spin-offs never really appealed to me, but i loved the Mega Blocks sets, like my entire Lego collection shifted to a Halo Blocks collection when i discovered Halo, and i wasn't the only one, the quality and value spoke for themselves, just a simple set with a handful of figures and a small vehicle or emplacement provided the best fun for your buck by far. It was literally the perfect environment for this game to flourish, perhaps even staring a whole spin-off series, imagine if we had like a decades worth of Halo Blocks games right now with them competing with Lego Star Wars just as it was always meant to be!!!!!
