As the Detroit Pistons have shown us, being a part of NBA history isn’t always a good thing… and as one of the worst teams in league history, they were a bit of an inspiration for this video… what exactly happened to the worst teams in NBA history?

The 11-71 1998 Denver team at least deserved a mention.

The worst team I've ever seen was the 1992-93 Dallas Mavericks. They lost by an average of over 15 points per game and were 8-68 with 6 games left in the season. They won 3 of their last 6 games to avoid the indignity of the worst record ever.

Some metrics I’ve calculated find them to be the worst team of the last 50 or so years.

Bruh, you clearly haven’t done your research if you’re saying the 10-72 Sixers are the worst team in history. They actually had literally worst team in league history record wise in an 82 game season. It was the ‘73 Sixers who only won 9 games.😳

I feel like everyone says "this pistons team has more talent/young talent than those other teams" but like... do they? They have more young, highly drafted guys than a lot of those teams, but that doesn't mean they're gonna work out. I think we might look back at this team in like 5 years and it'll look like the 2016 76ers (Cade maybe excepted). A lot of those guys made a career in the league and are still playing but you don't think "wow what a good young core that was"
@AdamKlownzinger
@AdamKlownzinger 5 ай бұрын
Yeah I am inclined to agree with you actually, at least in terms of the “great young core”. Jalen Duren is solid. But it’s hard to imagine him being anything more than he is, which is just an average center, not even really above average. Ausar Thompson is kind of like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist I feel like. Effort guy, good athlete, but really cannot help you offensively. And it’s still early but it is hard to imagine Killian Hayes becoming anything particularly good. Jaden Ivey deserves some more respect from you though. Truly promising scoring combo guard. And alongside an all-star caliber player like Cade, alongside some solid but definitely not great guys like Duren and Ausar, they most certainly should not be on pace to be the worst team of all time

Looking back at the process 76ers In retrospect, I don’t necessarily get why they picked Embiid, Noel and Okafor. That’s three straight players who played center in college. But then again, if Embiid was ready to play from the jump they might’ve picked someone different in 2015. Also, Fultz unfortunately didn’t work out for them.

Jerami Grant, Ish Smith, Richaun Holmes, Christian Wood, T.J. McConnell, and RoCo all still playing. Nerlens not on a roster but for sure made a career in the league. Obviously a lot are out of the league but for a 10 win team from 8 years ago, that's not bad@@dcals6288

The Clippers over 1986-87, 1987-88, and 1988-89 won a combined 50 games over three seasons. The Clippers from 2012-13 to 2016-17 by contrast had five straight seasons where they won more games than that three year period combined.

Thats gotta be the worst take Ive seen in a really long time.....Did you start watching the NBA 2 years ago........???? Lebron literally made everyone on that team look like they were exceptionally better than they actually were. He literally made Mo Williams an All-Star..... Do you even know how many open shots everyone on that team got because it was genuinely Lebron James driving in and drawing 4 or 5 defenders every time down the court. Im a Celtics fan and I even have more respect for Lebron than you do lol.....Goddamn casuals....smh. Someone get JimmxyHighRoller on this guy.

@@Amm17ar bro Jamison,Big Z,Wally,Ben Wallace, and Hughes all got worse playing with LeBron
@Amm17ar
@Amm17ar 5 ай бұрын
@@hunterwade9030..... Jamison: Was 33 when Cleveland aquired him. His Per 36s barely changed, and if Lebron made him so much worse, why is it that when Lebron left, his numbers didnt shoot back up? Big Z: 29 years old when Lebron James joined, his ppg when down by 2 points but efficiency shot back up and stayed around 48% for the rest of his career. He also started shooting threes. His rebounds bounced back up, his blocks were career highs in Lebrons rookie year. And you want to know how I know youre a casual. Because his Per 36 stats all stayed the nearly the same throughout his career with Lebron as they did without him. Meaning it was simply the fact that he was sharing the court with another All-Star that explains his drop in stats.... Big Ben: Literally joined the Cavs when he was 33 bro.....All his numbers had been declining since he left Detroit. But oh....whats that? His Per 36s once again stayed exactly in the range he had been playing at.....meaning his numbers declining (which is obviously all you casuals look at) going down was also due to his minutes being less..... Wally: He would retire after 2 years in Cleveland. You didnt even do any research before opening your mouth either did you? This is how I know you dont know wtf youre talking about. Wally had ankle and knee surgury in his last season with Boston before being traded to Seattle which could explain his rapid decline. The reason nobody signed him after Cleveland was literally due to the fact that he had to go back to rehab to work on his injuries. That was also Lebrons fault? Larry Hughes: If Larry Hughes was so good why did his numbers never climb back up after he left Cleveland? Probably because in Washington he was the first option. Every other team he was on, he wasnt the best player.....Meaning he didnt get the most shots. Also, he averaged career highs in 3pt % in his first year on Cleveland. Almost like he got more open shots from there. You could definitely argue Larry Hughes was made worse by Lebron, but its pretty obvious Larry Hughes wasnt exactly a great player either. For all these players, their defensive win shares stayed at the same or got better, their stats took a hit because they went from the first or second options to 2nd, 3rd or lower options. Most of their Per 36s stayed at or slightly below what they averaged before. Ben Wallace was still a good defensive centre in Cleveland, Ilgauskas was still a great NBA big man when Lebron got drafted. Antwan was simply getting older, but still put up great numbers with Lebron and again his Per 36s stayed nearly the same because he was just getting less minutes on Cleveland going from 38 minutes per game to 32. Anyone else you wanna "claim" Lebron made worse? The biggest Lebron James GOAT arguement is that he makes others better......most casuals like you will look at the base stats and say he made them worse cuz they didnt score as much and not stop to think (not that theres much thought going on in the first place, clearly) that maybe their numbers went down because they were playing with an All-NBA caliber guy who was going to be the number 1 option.... You didnt do any research before opening your mouth, didnt look to see if there were any rational reasons why a players numbers would go down, despite now playing with Lebron James who is the number 1 option and hopped on the Lebron James makes players worse bangwagon not realizing it was taking you to Dumbass-ville. Enjoy your stay, based on your comments youll fit right into the towns idiots.
