The First Two underworld films are pretty underrated, people think that is just resident evil with vampires and werewolves when clearly they had much more going for in the action, the effects, cinematography and the mythology! Not the peak of cinema necessarily but for an action horror experience they are pretty entertaining!

I love Underworld (2003). It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated as they took the whole "Romeo and Juliet" concept and theme to a another level as it was absolutely and positivity constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. The story, performance's, music, action sequences, special effects, direction, and cinematography was spectacular and phenomenal. Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Selene and Micheal Corvin as they both put tons of emotion and depth into their roles. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍

I've always been more into werewolves than I have vampires, so I thought the premise of this movie was pretty cool. I will say where they dropped the ball on this franchise was skipping over the Vampire/Lycan war. There should have been a movie about it after Rise of the Lycans. That was the story I really wanted to see. Lucian building his army, Kraven and the vamp troops invading, and how the they faked killing Lucian and Kraven's betrayal of Viktor. And more backstory with the Elders would have been cool to watch also.

Wow this takes me back. I was made aware of this beautiful series back in 2005 when me and my buddy were living the punkrrockN'roll life and he asked me to just up and go to California. The place we ended up crashing at had only the same 2 things to watch-Family Guy season 3, and Underworld. I wound up introducing it to another homie I wound up staying with for a while after my split w/ the ex in 2011-12. Funny it was almost the same scenario as in Cali as there was no cable/tv, so we'd watch Underworld (I had the 1st and 2nd by then), and instead of Family Guy we'd borrow the seasons of Big Bang Theory from his sister. But yea..I can't count how many times he'd put on Underworld. Personally I had the craziest experience whilst huffing glue with this movie on. 😵‍💫

I like Underworld, but preferred Evolution. It's my favorite entry. It was shorter, more efficient in its storytelling, and had a more classic gothic feel. I never cared for Awakening, but I admit liking Final Wars more than other people did. I would have liked the prequel more, but I didn't care for Rhona Mitra in the role.

Underworld is a great fantasy action saga of werewolves and vampires, it doesn't have the best script but I don't care much, the attraction of Underworld is the action, the lore of the saga is a very interesting one and Kate Beckinsale of course, for It had to remain as a trilogy as planned, that way it would have remained as films without decadence, the last two left the bar too low to want to see more, the problem with Underworld was wasting characters, be it the case of Lucian Michael and eve, there were very bad decisions, even so I still like it and well I know that soon they will do something new with the saga, I hope it is up to the task, replacing Kate Beckinsale will be quite a challenge, good video.

Surprised at Nancy A Collins and White Wolf re the lawsuit. Selene is a completely distinct character from Sonja Blue. Are there similarities between WW and UW? Well, there's vampires and werewolves hidden from the 'normal' world and having a secret war...but that's fairly par for the course and has been done A. Lot. It definitely isn't specific to Masquerade. The lore is completely different. Weird. A more cynical person might think they were taking advantage of the characters as they had broadly similar phenotypes in their fictional works that ripped off Dracula and wanted to make a quick buck, but what do I know?
