The werewolves they were originally gonna use looked amazing and creepy. Far better than what we got in the end. Studio interference has ruined so many movies. I'll never understand it. Why hire talented, creative people to make a film and then make the process a nightmare for them? Undermining their choices and demanding changes left and right until you're left with a total mess. Makes no sense at all. This film could have been great.

Because you have suits who think they know how to make a movie some of the best movies are the ones that studios had no faith in like Star Wars the first 2 alien movies predator

Hollywood's biggest issue for decades now is scripts being bought snd production begun just to have the people paying decide they have better ideas and change it on the go until it becomes unrecognizable. These are the type of films that deserve to be remade. Except for this instance when the freaking movie exists. Just release the damn thing.

LOVE the inclusion of Cursed! It'd be really rad for it to get one of your Deep Dive treatments. I have fond memories of that one as it was a popular selection for a group "movie night" my friends would have weekly during the mid-later 2000s. Another hidden gem I recall being a fun watch from those group movie nights that I suppose could be considered underrated is Dead & Breakfast (2004). Features Oz Perkins and currently only logged in 2.9k times on Letterboxd.

The original ideas for the movie, was apparently that it was supposed to be about a New York serial killer, with the twist that he was a werewolf. But I guess it was too similar to the original Howling? What I hated most about the movie we got, was the whole Hollywood setting.

It's was among a handful of movies* actually refreshing at time when Hollywood was well deep into their asinine cookie cutter lameness. FYI: His references to Shannon Elizabeth shows he hadn't seen the Unrated version? Regular implies something happened w/it you see exactly what happens to her. *Constantine. Wolf Creek.
