Hey Gary. I got a Digitech drop pitch shifter to shift my 8 string down to C1, but there’s a weird wobble sound in the tone if I shift past 3 semitones. Bands like spirit box and northlane, as well as KZbinrs like nik nocturnal sound really good pitch shifting from F to C. Any advice.

What are you using as your amp tone? I find some amps handle the pitched down notes way better. Others you can hear the artifacts way more. For example I use Otto Audio's II II II II amp sim for super low pitched parts as it handles it so well. I've got a guitar in A and I pitch it down 10 semitones to B0 and the II II II II handles it so well.

Do yourself a favor. Try out the Otto Audio II II II II (there's a 14 day demo) and see if you get the same artifacts with the pitch shifting with the Drop. I'm guessing it will sound much better :)

hello Gary, i took your advice on the otto. the same wobble artifact is still there. but it is less noticeable with some presets. I'm still not super thrilled. There's gotta be some other reason for this that i'm missing. I see youtubers using the DigiTech whammy in the same C1 tuning with no artifacts at all. thank you very much for your time and helping me.
