Bought 4 new tires for my 1969 V.W. Bug. at America's Tire (also know as Discount Tire). The tire manufacturer's designated pressure for the tires is 32 psi. America's Tire filled my front tires with 27 for both tires in the front and 28 for both tires in the back. Brand new tires. I drove with this low pressure for two months not knowing it was low then my car started feeling like it was ice skating on slick ice. Took it to have the pressure checked. I asked the tire pressure and the employee told me, and I saw on their air pressure monitor, the front tires were 27 and the back tires were 28 on Brand New Tires they installed two months ago. Thanks for making your video. I have always relied on the honesty of mechanics and service people. Guess honesty and integrity is now out there anymore.

Thats normal, tires naturally lose pressure slowly over time and you should actually get them air checked once a month. Also, this guy has no clue what he is talking about; for this to happen your tire has to be almost completely flat.

Thanks for this timely advice on tire pressure and what lack of maintaining it can result in. I want to know how to deal with the kind of reasoning I've experienced, here in cyber world and in person: The thought that the cold pressure specified somewhere on a vehicle's frame is considered, by many, as 'underinflated'. Such individuals consider a tire properly inflated if it is kept at, IE: at least halfway between the pressure on the vehicle pillar sticker and the Max Cold pressure stamped on the tire sidewall. I myself keep my tire cold pressures(right at dawn) at vehicle plus one PSI. IE: 32psi, so I keep mine at 33, mainly to account for potential gauge error. In winter - from November to March, I run 2-3psi over vehicle sticker. The ride is as smooth as I feel it can be, given low-profile 50R17 tires, good steering feel, and good acceleration and braking. Your thoughts on the group in the first paragraph?

Which tire pressure should we follow? The one told by the car manufacturer, or the one by the tires'. My current tires look flat following the car's recommended pressure. The previous ones weren't.

Car manufacturer. Tire manufacturer usually specifies maximum pressure supported, not the working pressure expected by the car.

I have a back injury and want to lower the psi on my Tesla Model 3 to get a softer ride what would be a safe psi to run?

What would cause 19psi on front and back left, but normal on the other side?

It's hard to say. Usually you can tell by putting the tire to the correct pressure and pushing on the sidewall with your finger. if it feels soft in the middle of the tire sidewall , then the tire is most likely damaged. Sometimes you will even see a line in the middle of the sidewall. If you are not sure it's best to take it to a tire shop and have it inspected.

How low should the pressure be to be in that condition? My tire had been driven for a few minutes with the pressure warning lamp in it, but it was hard to visually identify it. Is that gonna be a problem?
@richedaughtry4 жыл бұрын
No, this results in very low pressure, where rim is riding on sidewall. If you could hardly tell, then no worries, but you do have a leak; repair properly.

how many months before it looks like that when using the car as daily 30-40kph and let us say sometimes driving on a freeway for 1 and a half hour. Because I am thinking about mine I guess 3 to 4 months didn't put air in my tires from 33 PSI down to 25-28 PSI. I'm only worried about the 2 newer tires that I put last yr october2022 and march2023.

This happen to my food trailer tire today was a 15 blew out and had alot of that black rubber dust looking stuff it blew on the side wall side wall was hot it was weird

Would this also happen on bigger truck tires? My tires are rated to drive at around 35-40 psi but I’ve been driving a few days at around 20 psi for a few days.

Applies to any tires.
@LeviBartel2 жыл бұрын
20 should be ok. Anything below 15 is when you should expect to pay for new tires

Could all all that rubber that came off inside be a reason why the car vibrates at high speeds, as if the wheel is not balanced?

my tire was at 33.5 and the light did not turn on, it's a 2017 and I usually keep it at 38 when max is 40? that fine
@Jake.of.All.Trades3 жыл бұрын
Your tire pressure should be at whatever the sticker says on your drives side door. Don't worry about the Max pressure listed on your tire. Usually if a tire is 3 or more pounds low the light will come on but usually no damage is done to the tire. Just need to add air to the proper pressure.

my 2013 jaguar XJL had a nail in the tire so i went and had them repair it and they told me the tire would be good for like another year. so i mistakenly listened and kept driving on it if continuously said that tire was low and i kept filling it but now my car is making a weird noise when i drive could this be because of what you explained in your video?
@ryans413Ай бұрын
Do not drive on low tire pressure especially at highway speeds. Couple things will happen your car will not handle very well your gas mileage will go down the tire is more expectable to punchers and the tire will fall apart and you won’t have as much grip with the road it’s very bad to drive on tires with low pressure.

If you want to sabotage an SUV or a pick-up truck, deflate the tire to half of its specs.

I know about the situation with the tires but how do you explain this to a wife and your child that keeps borrowing the car they don’t even check the oil or the tire pressure now I have to replace a set of four tires on my truck and these are LT’s and you know those are twice as much as the regular passenger vehicle tire. Someone please tell me what do I have to do I have been telling them for over three years to make sure before you get in the vehicle visually inspected check the oil because you never know when an old truck is starting to show certain problems with the vehicle I just wonder how much this is going to cost me today and today’s date is November 18, 2024 I’m gonna try to tell you if I remember and I asked Jesus Christ of Nazareth to bless you all especially the gentleman that did this video I asked Jesus Christ of Nazareth to bring you lots of love peace prosperity for yourself your family your friends and all the viewers on your channel amen. ✝️✝️✝️🙏🏻🇺🇸
