About Return to Dreamland hacing fully functional Invincibility Caramels against bosses, my guess is that it was planned to Kirby being able to get a free candy if the player is struggling too much, but was later scrapped.

It’s cuz of the EX mode having an invincibility candy segment with the mini bosses and the damage/health bar situation is shared so it transfers over to them by proxy even if it’s not intended. It’s not usually a problem because the player can never legitimately get an invincibility candy within a boss stage but stuff like this exists so lmao

most likely because it just uses a standard hitbox/damage system that every enemy can universally receive, being a 3D game, the others needed to have their weaknesses individually coded it also explains how Super Copy Abilities work

Oh, and one more detail to address is that it's humanly possible to reach the whispy woods boss fight in Kirby Star Allies while with the invincibility candy. It ABSOLUTELY DESTROYS Whispy Woods, and is prominently correlated to Susie's level layout in Guest Star ?????.

You CAN use the candy on bosses in squeak squad without hacking, and it works fine, definitely didn’t fight dark nebula with it 😅

Invincibility Candy actually isn’t in Dream Land 2 at all. I don’t know about Dream Land 3, I just know every boss in that one is its own stage, so hacking is definitely necessary to find out
