I been struggling with chest pains, breathing problems and many things for the pass 5 years and doctors did nothing to help me. I started having back pains as well and they just wanted me to do gastroypass saying I'll be able to lose weight and get rid of my back pain. I said if I can get rid of my back pain, I can do the exercise I need to do to lose weight. Since I've gained a lot of weight because of being inactive due to my back pains and the pandemic. I suffered and they blamed everything on my weight when my blood test shows other problems. I watched your videos about Vitamin D3+K2 and Glutathione and I bought both of those products and in a few weeks, I started feeling better. I'm now able to move again, no more back pains, body odor has decreased, skin is more smoother and I feel 10 years younger and now going back to the gym to exercise and lose weight. I feel like I got my life back. Thank you Dr.Berg.ngs to lose weight

I started taking Omega 3 fish oils many years ago. I am 75 and all my friends are on multiple drugs, they have had to have cataract surgery and many have macular degeneration issues. They all have numerous types of medical problems. I have often wondered if my habit of Omega 3's is the reason that I am very healthy. My eyes actually improved a few years ago and I do not have to wear glasses while driving. I eat only organic, non processed food and always buy grass fed, free range meat.

Omega-3s and omega-6s are incorporated in cell membranes and can last inside these cells for quite some time. Omega-3s stay in your system anywhere from about six weeks to six months. The amount of omega-3s that stay in your system also depends on the amount you receive through diet or supplementation. Vitamin B12 is stored in excess in the liver, decreasing the likelihood of deficiency. Stores of vitamin B12 in the body can last around 2 to 5 years without being replenished, so it can take a long time for any problems to develop after a dietary change.

Dr. Berg, glad I ran into this episode about fish oil. When you mentioned how important DHA is for Memory, Function, Cognitive Function, Focus.. these are the areas I have significantly having trouble with by the 4th week of weaning off Zoloft, completely (but slowly tapering off in the span of 3-4 months to zero). First it was my focus, then short term memory (I keep forgetting where I put my keys, phone, lock the door, or why I go somewhere, every day..) and then I had difficulty in making a sentence or trying to convey something, it was like my cognitive functions was significantly slow or foggy - that my sister noticed it was difficult to understand me and I would pause a lot in between words just trying to find the next word :( Then I had to tell my family I took the decision to get off it after 13 years on it. I did take Magnesium Glycinate daily at night to help what it can especially with anxiety. But those areas I have mentioned still in "repairing" or feels like "rewiring' is happening.. my speech is better now, not so slow and no more slurring when I speak, and my long term memories of things seems to come back and surprise me. Feels strange to suddenly remember what felt.. "lost" you know? But now I feel like maybe I should take fish oil again to help? Also they're good for my heart. I am 34 but I still have tachycardia & arrhythmia even after WPW ablation. I've consumed before but stopped for a long time and there are new info that I didn't know then which I knew now, thank to your knowledge. I'm 4 months Zoloft-free now and I know it has its challenges and lots of side effects that are coming in every few weeks but I am determined. Just need to deal with the cognitive function issues for now. One day at a time! Thanks Dr. Berg, it gives me hope that perhaps my cognitive is gonna be okay, and that's by fish oil perhaps!

@lisahylton2449: !I take a krill 350 mg once a day. I have Cod liver oil also , using up my Krill oil 1st. ! No, you don't "take" it. You eat it and only a small part of what you think you have taken is being absorbed. Fats taken with the food meet pancreatic lipase in your gut and break them down to glycerol and fatty acids, PUFAS are not exception here. A part non digested by lipase are used by bacteria in your gut, and some of PUFAs is lost with the faeces. So it's not so simple as it seems.

Hey Dr. Eric I have something for you on Omega 3 from my life experience. My dog had 15 tumors or so. And 7 of them were cancer. But the autopsy on the cancer tumors showed all the cancer was already dead. I fish a lot of salmon. Enough so I get to eat it 2-3 times a week if I want and my dog gets it almost every day. I believe the cancer was super saturated in Omage-3 fatty acids and it caused the cancer to starve. All of her cancer was dead so not a problem anymore. But the salmon and the oils in it. Thats my proof the oils work.

Dr Berg talks about fish oil benefits and the importance of omega-3 fatty acids. Both cod liver oil and fish oil contain omega-3 fatty acids, with the addition of vitamin A and vitamin D in cod liver oil. Around 25% of the fat in your brain is the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA. Most of this fat is in the frontal cortex, which supports memory, focus, concentration, and attention. DHA supports the integrity of the membranes around the neurons and supports the retina. It also protects against inflammation, UV radiation, and macular degeneration. Omega-3 fatty acids keep skin smooth and protect against acne, psoriasis, eczema, dry skin, red skin, and ultraviolet light. They can also help mineralise bone, decrease the risk of osteoporosis, and improve arthritis and joint inflammation. Taking cod liver oil or fish oil for 30 days has even more potential benefits, including the following: •Supports liver health •Helps regulate blood sugar •Helps reverse insulin resistance •Supports inside of the arteries •Reduces symptoms of asthma and allergies •Supports fertility •Helps eliminate soreness and inflammation after exercise Avoid choosing fish oil based on price alone. Some fish oils are poor quality and may be rancid or oxidized. Know the source of your fish oil to avoid getting a product contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, or mercury. Fish oil and cod liver oil may taste like fish, but they shouldn’t have a rancid taste. To minimize the taste, try looking for supplements in pearl form. Omega-3 foods include fatty fish such as wild-caught salmon, herring, mackerel, and sardines. Shellfish and grass-fed dairy products also contain omega-3 fatty acids ... Thank you Doctor Berg!

You can definitely have too much fish oil. I think a nice piece of fish once a week or squid twice a week is enough. I am very careful with fish oil supplements, because excess EPA can actually shut down the enzyme that converts dietary Omega 6 (Linoleic Acid) into anti-inflammatory Series 1 Prostaglandins, which are also important immune system regulators. This is why I prefer Squid over fish, because Squid is higher in DHA and it has just enough EPA to offset inflammation caused by AA (Arachidonic Acid). Calamari Oil is very easy to find these days, but I prefer to just eat squid. And I always make sure to get healthy Omega 6 everyday in the form of raw Almonds or Cold Pressed Sesame Oil when I have it. Some people like to use Evening Primrose Oil, Borage or Black Current Oil but I would advise against that, as the excess GLA consumed from these oils can be readily converted into excess inflammatory AA.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🐟 *Omega-3 fatty acids are essential as the body can't produce them; 70% of the population lacks Omega-3, leading to potential health issues.* 00:38 🐟 *Cod liver oil is preferred for Omega-3 due to added vitamins D and A; quality matters more than cost in choosing fish oil to avoid rancidity.* 01:18 🧠 *EPA in Omega-3 aids in reducing inflammation, benefiting joints and heart; DHA is crucial for brain health, comprising 20% of the brain's gray matter.* 02:14 🌞 *Cod liver oil historically used in Nordic countries during low sun exposure winters for its vitamin D content; vitamin D intake can impact asthma.* 03:05 🩺 *Regular Omega-3 consumption might alleviate dry eyes, dermatitis, age-related macular degeneration, arthritis, and high blood pressure.* 04:05 🦴 *Omega-3 aids in calcium absorption; deficiency might lead to leg cramps, difficulty sleeping, menstrual cramps, and insomnia.* 04:58 🚫 *Fish oil capsules can prevent burping; alternatives like algae-based supplements exist for those allergic to fish or following a vegan diet.* 05:27 🩸 *Blood spot tests can evaluate Omega-3 levels; excessive Omega-6 consumption (e.g., soy, corn oils) can compete with Omega-3, leading to deficiencies.* 06:21 🔁 *Imbalance between Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids (e.g., consuming too much Omega-6 from soy, corn oils) could cause inflammation, affecting Omega-3 absorption.* 06:58 💊 *Consider bile supplements for better Omega-3 absorption if lacking a gallbladder or facing gut inflammatory issues.* 07:39 🌾 *Animals fed grains have lower Omega-3 content; grass-fed animals have higher Omega-3, impacting human dietary intake.*
