Years ago when I saw "Why do you greet your brethren only" in the Bible I started greeting everyone I saw, it just became normal and I have done it ever since.

"Mind reading is not admissible" I love it 😂 I suppose I've been mind reading for years, and taking it as fact.

I just did this yesterday with my therapist. Was relatively easy with him on my side. What I realized is that I don't care much about the responses from others or directly what they think about me, but I do care a lot about whether I seemed awkward according to my own standards. Putting myself into the shoes of the greeted person and judging myself through their eyes. Perfectionism's a bitch. Excited about the journey ahead!

This really helped me to see people grimace and not say hi to you. I keep thinking it happens because there is something wrong with me. But you seem like such a healthy friendly guy, so obviously it has to do with them.

I think if your always prepared to say hi back then there is no need to ever say hi first. Its enough that your friendly and prepared to return a friendly gesture. Ill never rely on a positive response to make me feel good evn though i know it should coz thats just a never ending battle

As a man, women of a certain quality can feel threatened, and even more when dressed for exercise that will paint that interacton quite differently. That is a whole different complication and video. Also, around here, many if exercising may have closed out the world by having headphones in. I have also noticed people with young children tend to have an attitude adjustment that says I now care about the world, and I am hopeful it will be a good place for my children... They are more likely to model positive interactions unless they perceive the situation as a threat or are socially inept.

The Dog thing is interesting because many dog owners are given the impression everyone loves their dog and may tie acceptance of their dog as acceptance of them. Its socially encouraged to reach out to dogs and it fact its often easy to get acceptance from a dog (the dog will brightly and visually broadcast its approachability). Dog owners are friendlier in your interactions, but I wonder the exact reasons why, again a whole different video.

Sometimes you say Hi to someone or smile at them, and they do not respond. But do not feel dejected, the other person might be having a bad day or may be too busy in his / her own thoughts. But do know that your smile or hi definitely had a positive impact on them and many times if you see them again they will more than make up for it :)

Ugh my biggest thing is that it just doesn't come naturally to me. I just want to walk in my neighborhood without having to worry about this stuff. The problem is my neighborhood is super southern American, you're borderline forced to say hi

6:00 if you even say that nothing happened, what's the big deal then? Why should I worry about saying hi or not saying hi?

Thomas Smithyman, I tried but couldn't force myself to say Hi to strangers, it feels terrible like it's the weirdest thing ever, I wanted to fall through the ground, what should I do ???

Hi!:) If you are still having trouble, I have some advice that may help. If you are not ready to say hi to strangers, don't push yourself. Try doing something easier that you are still afraid of, then work your way up. Like nod, and smile at a stranger. If that's too hard, start even smaller. You want to create a "fear ladder", what you fear least to what you fear most, and slowly work your way up to overcoming the things that make you most anxious. Just try not to be hard on yourself, and stay positive:). You're doing great!

Just say hi. Its no big deal. Who will fault you for saying hello? If they ignore you or make a face there is something wrong with them and you can feel happy youre less of a antisocial goof than they are

No you could but you let the fear overcome you. Remember you always have a choice. Choose the option most beneficial for you.

The fact that you got a somewhat positive result doesnt mean everyone will. This only works fine if youre not too short, doesnt look abnormal and doesn't look anxious..

@@CristianoRonaldo-yr3iw my point is the results depends almost entirely on the persons looks. Also I would advice against trying this experiment as its dangerous if you have high sensitivity to rejection
