@Ben it's called dead reckoning. It uses the speed of the car and the direction of the wheel to calculate where it is on the map. Almost all GPS hardware, handheld or builtin would have this tech. Only phone doesn't and most 3rd party stereo doesn't since it can't detect the speed.

The autopilot should work without GPS, because it has a map, cameras and know the speed and the position of the steering, so it should be able to drive always.

Normally it does, but in this case the driver was just not used to the returning indicator stock and pushed to hard on it to cancel. A typical newbe mistake on model 3s 😂

The tight corner at 6minutes is actualy a very dangerous one with a lot of accidents, specially in the rain. The speedlimit is 70km/h in that corner and after it so the 64km/h that the tesla did wasn't bad.

it is 120/130 depending on country, 100 is on intersections but 50/70 is on those lanes that go off main road, 80 is through tunnels... When there are works on road, it is usually 60/70...

It can't yet navigate in the tunnel in case there are branchings. Norway has tunnels where decisions need to be made under ground. Little concerning that it couldn't see the lane on the right in the tunnel. It wasn't exactly heavily camouflaged. And yes I recently drove a Model 3 on auto and was surprised from the videos how much you feel it moving sideways. A g meter might be interesting.

Unless there is special equipment, radio signals cannot reach inside tunnels. That would mean no gps and probably no internet. The car stayed on autopilot, just was unable to update navigation

The model 3 owner indicated both ways because when you turn on the turn signal it goes down then back up or up then back down it doesn’t stay were you put the turn signal stock and he divided to turn it off manually and turned on he left turn signal trying to turn the right signal off

It may be an unsupported tunnel as you are not allowed to use cruise control through that tunnel, there are signs up as you go down he hill towards the tunnel saying turn off cruise control..

20:43 of course he can't be on autopilot, he wasn't even close to being centered in the lane I think the double indication apparently was the weird turn signal confusion about the fact it doesn't lock in place and you have to press down the same way to cancel? But that's not really true anymore, you can push the stalk the opposite way to cancel the indicator.
