This is not even to mention future SCOTUS considerations, installing SCOTUS justices is after all the longest lasting and most impactful legacy of a POTUS' administration.

What if the jury reaches a verdict on some charges, but can't agree on other charges?

We only need one juror to be "beyond a reasonable doubt" about ANY of his 4 charges: (1 count of Conspiracy to defraud the U.S. Government, 1 of Conspiracy against civil rights & 2 of Obstruction), he's Guilty. All 12 jurors would have to find him innocent on *all 4 charges* for trump to avoid a conviction. (i.e. He's screwed, but will avoid prison, for now) Source: 'MeidasTouch'

The charges are elevated from misdemeanours to felonies because the falsification is alleged to have been done in order to conceal other crimes - breaches of campaign finance laws and New York tax laws. The jury will have to determine whether to convict or acquit on each of the 34 charges separately. Trump may well be convicted on some and acquitted on some, with a hung jury on others.

Because a trial a few year ago found that the media outlets were responsible for comments on their social media pages they only leave comments open for as long as they can be moderated, otherwise they risk being sued for something said by a third party in a comment. For major news stories affecting Australia the risk and volume of comments are too great to moderate. A show about the US with relatively few commentators is lower risk and can be moderated without much effort. People are unlikely to defame other Australians in the comments. Sometimes on stories they leave them open until the moderators attention is needed on the next story.

It's fascinating listening to different legal experts about Trump's trial. This guy said, "Very good and competent lawyers on both sides," and that they've done enough for reasonable doubt. Others make it sound like they drool on the floor and the case will eith be hung or result in a guilty verdict. Ive heard some people say Trump will likely get no sentence if convicted because he's a first time offender and others say he will probably get 1-2 years. I think everyone is just guessing.

no it's not an oversight, or rare for such discussion and opinion shows, but as a news organisation (particularly being a government organisation) they have to ensure safe comments section discourse. That's why at times the comments section is closed, depending on either how some people start attacking others in the comments section or due to the topic of video. This is opposed to news stories/reports, which have never had comments sections open for them, including for pretty much all other major Australian news networks KZbin channels.

"To be fair" is a statement that expectations were exceeded. For example, "to be fair, I didn't think he'd win the nomination" would mean that the subject exceeded expectations by winning the nomination. In the actual quote, the speaker is saying that it was unexpected, based on previous behavior, that Trump would show up, and thus exceeded the speaker's expectations.
