She took Sanji's memory of the kiss to set him free. She understands the kind of threat her mother is to Sanji and his friends. This love story starts with Sanji getting his heart broken by Pudding's betrayal and ends with her own self imposed heartbreak. But i think they will meet again and she'll return those memories to him. For someone who said he wasn't good at writing romance, Oda did an excellent job with this love story.

for me, the whole cake island arc really is about love. the need for love and affection, the twisted kind of love and the sibling love in the whole charlotte family, and the romantic love. the arc really gave me a whole lot of feels and watching it again really made me think that love was the vital point of what was happening in the arc. it was like all their actions were done in the name of love.

I love the Katakuri and Brulee bond, you get to see how he didn't actually care about his mouth and look as much as you think, and being fine beating people up who made fun of him. But when that meant they took revenge on say his sister Brulee, he switched over to hiding it, being all stoic and strong so that nobody could take it out on his sister for any flaws he had. He became perfect to protect Brulee when it wasn't enough to simply be strong, but also have a flawless reputation and image. It also now makes sense why when you see Brulee being targeted and Katakuri saw it, how he got way more enraged and gave off a bigger reaction to anything else.

To be too blunt, Big Mom's kids are a bunch of "circus". They need to support each other. Katakuri and Brulee are fortunate to have each other. Meanwhile Pudding.. nobody said "be yourself is fine" to her. It's not their fault or something, the age gaps are just too wide. Their siblings are too many. They can't be there, be consolation, be parents to lift up every sibling confidence when their siblings are literally hundreds.

I have my little theory for Pudding : (sorry for my english) i want to believe she kissed Sanji to officialise the wedding,because it was the only thing missed at the ceremony. For a short moment she wanted to taste the happiness to be married with the man she love. (like her sister Chiffon) But she know she can't kept sanji for herself and his path is to be with the straw hats who just risk their life to brink him back. So she made this heartbreaking decision to erase the kiss and let him free. (i think she realised it few episodes ago ,when she talked to her sister about happiness and then she look at sanji )

Fun fact if you only watch or read the manga you will never no this cause it's a vivre card exclusive. Katakuri mouth slit was caused when he suffed his mouth with so many doughnuts that it split his mouth open but he never let it stop him and a couple years later he ate the mochi mochi no mi so now he can stuff as many doughnuts as he wants in his mouth

I really recommend watching the onepace version for the next miniarc, because it actually takes up multiple episodes because of an endless amount of flashbacks, when the canon material sums up to being roughly 30 mins long

Pudding took Sanji's memories because she knew that Sanji would stay back for her if she didn't, as well it's a moment for her to hold on to when she knew she couldn't stay with Sanji - given that she's still onside with Big Mom as her 'little doll', Chiffon told her not to let go of her happiness when that's all that she could do, so she literally stole a kiss from him, one small moment of bittersweet happiness. It is quite a pit in the heart when you realised that Katakuri became this facade out of protection for his family, and out of regret that his favourite sister Brulee got hurt by people trying to get to him. We may've left Whole Cake Island with Sanji back in the crew, but there's a lot that they left behind

The resolution of the fight between Luffy and Katakuri marked my favorite part of Whole Cake Island. It was in this moment that I fell in love with Brulee sort of. They made her out to be with jealous, petty, malicious woman turned comic relief because she was just used and abused the whole time. Then this tender moment where we understood what drives Katakuri to be how he is and the fact that Brulee knew everything about him was basically a stoic front to protect his siblings and that she's deeply moved and appreciated his efforts. I tend to be a sucker for people who carry burdens for the sake of others without saying anything or expecting anything and for the people who understand and appreciate those efforts. There were parts of this arc I didn't like when I read it, but the sibling dynamics and interactions between the Charlotte family and the adjoined pirate crews via marriage were a treat. We usually only get to enjoy the Strawhats as a family unit, but we got to see the Big Mom pirates in detail. I found Big Mom to be a tragic type of character. Due to her obscene strength and uncontrollable rampages since birth, she's been isolated and stunted in many emotional and mental aspects. She's not particularly dumb, but she has a strong sense of entitlement due to that immense physical strength, her title as Yonko, and her devil fruit abilities. When almost literally nobody can tell you 'no' because of your power and hunger pang rampages, your reasoning and empathy is severely stunted and restricted. She lives a very self-centered hedonistic life chasing the false ideals in a very literal interpretation from a woman she never understood to be so rotten and was raised by a criminal for his own amusement, and that is rather pitiable. I wonder how exactly she goes through creating a child. I read on the wiki that she has a half dwarf kid somewhere in that 85 child line up. Considering how those guys looked so tiny compared to the more average sized people like Robin and Ussop, I'm thinking that the more.....conventional methods of baby making aren't applied. I'm thinking that it has something to do with her devil fruit powers.

Yo... I never thought about the Luffy/Judge scene that way before, but it really makes a lot of sense. Throughout the story we've seen that Luffy had something of an instinct for understanding how someone is feeling, even if it's not what they're trying to convey. Nami, Robin, Usopp, Rayleigh, Sanji, and even Katakuri are examples of this, and Rayleigh himself discerned his ability. After the wedding, all of Germa had a new respect for Sanji, even if they didn't express it. Luffy sensing Judge's true feelings, even if Judge himself doesn't really understand them, makes so much sense.

I always loved the foil between Flampe and Brulee, Brulee looks like an evil witch (and she is,) but geniunely loves her family especially Katakuri, while Flampe looks like a sweet little girl but is heartless and disgusted when people show their flaws. Flampe freaked out and turned on Katakuri the instant he wasn't the perfect ideal brother and tried to kill and humiliate him because he got blood on her dress. Brulee knew the whole time that Katakuri wasn't perfect but loved him anyway and after the incident despite being a child, being in immense pain, and having her face scarred she tried to keep the pain hidden because she didn't want Katakuri to feel ashamed or responsible for what happened. Even after he got beaten Brulee goes to him to take care of him because he's her big brother and she loves him.

I suggest for the next arc you just edit in reaction to the new material and not filler flashbacks of past arcs.That way you can experience this next arc,the way we did in the manga.Although the anime adaption never lived up to the expectations we had for it compared to how great it was in the manga.I still believe this is the best option.

I liked Pudding's arc and I suprinsigly felt for her. No one should be used as a political tool by their own mother. I think she took Sanji's memories of their time together in order not to be an obstacle for Sanji and for him to leave her. I think she sees herself as not being deserving of Sanji's affection. It's sad. On another note, Brulee was really cute as a child. Brulee and Katakuri and Pudding and Chiffon & Lola have the best sibling relationship out of Big Mom's children. It's really sad not a lot of the rest of the Big Mom children really care for each other.

It must really be noted how much of a big deal was episode 875 to the community when it came out. It was chapter 900, "Bad end musical". Oda has a tradition of doing crazy things those chapters and at the time we all had the impression Oda had padded out WCI a bit to make sure certain évents fell down right there. Remember chapter 100 was the entering to the Grand Line, Chapter 600 was the reunion of the SHs post TS, 700 was Buggy becoming a Warlord, Doflamingo quitting them and the beginning of Dressrosa. And 800 was the SH Grand Fleet. The community went insane.

Hey Allona. Couple reasons why Pudding took the memory of the kiss from Sanji. One was that she could keep the memory of the kiss to look at for herself. Think of it like you're on a date with someone and you take one of those photo booth pictures they always have on the board walk or at the mall. She just swiped it from his pocket to look at all the time and remember the kiss for herself. The second and more unselfish reason is she probably knew that if Sanji was aware of the kiss, he would refuse to leave her behind and stay for her sake. Then he'd probably die by Mama's hands. Or he would insist on taking her with the Straw Hats and Big Mom would then pursue them to the ends of the earth because remember she's super valuable to Big Mom, because she can unlock that third eye to read the ponoglyphs. She knew they couldn't be together so she wanted a memento for herself. As for Judge, he wasn't secretly complimenting Sanji. He legitimately doesn't understand what value Luffy sees in Sanji. All the things he said about Sanji were meant as insults. Luffy's just that sweet dopey friend who admires all those things Judge listed as weakness but he views as strengths. Luffy thought Judge was being complimentary cuz he's a lovable goof.

@@ms.andrea945 Judge is a fool who only didn't get killed because of how well one of his sons was raised. He won't learn from this experience and will only end up getting himself and the rest of his family killed again anyway - that or they'll fade into obscurity like they did before for all his efforts. His other sons don't have empathy and don't have foresight. His daughter knows that any disgrace or downfall their family endures they would have brought on themselves so she won't do anything to stop it - plus she's programmed to not go against him. I hope she manages to get away though like Sanji did, somehow.

idk why people complained about the edited version made by the mod, not like anything crucial was cut out. Oda sometimes lets the studio know what he wants added in, but its usually small stuff that doesn't make a difference. I hope the mod edits out the next big thing thats coming cause the anime did it terribly.

Lots of info that oda didn't have time to put in the manga. for instance, the reason katakuri got his mouth wounds. Most of the children are triplets, quadruplets, etc. Where they were born. their ages, occupation, devil fruit. Really good stuff.
