"We play boatloads of money to baseball players to essentially play a kid's game. And, in exchange, we get the power to uproot them, and their families, so they can play a kid's game, for boatloads of money, somewhere else. And, after a few years, thanks to collective bargaining, they can become free agents. And then they can decide to uproot their families, for boatloads of money, themselves. So players don't make money from trades? Unlike European soccer transfers. So only as a free agent you can negotiate a new contract? Players don't benefit from trades and waivers?
@jamesbond48103 жыл бұрын
In "European soccer transfers" too players don't make money. That's transfer fees not salary paycheck contract. Transfer fees are buy-out clause entered by the owner club to restrict free purchase of players like it happens in American sports.

So if you’re a fan of the Yankees or the Dodgers and have money and prospects to throw away because they mean nothing to you thanks in part to exorbitant local TV deals. None of it matters because you’re a gimmick and not a sport. Have an issue? Throw money at it problem solved, we want another great pitcher spend 40 million on Trevor Bauer (not sure about his future) & need to replace him sure bringing another guy who makes close to that per year no big deal we can afford it. Just trade for him. Have a spine and fight back against the players union you can manage it. I believe in you. Until then watch wrestling is more realistic.

I bet the White Sox regret trading Tatis Jr before anyone knew how good he really is for a washed up pitcher like James Shields. Chicago would probably be the most American League team. If not the whole MLB
