As always, very useful information thanks. I found the pulley system explanation particularly interesting as that had never occurred to me before! I had my knee replaced last week in the UK, and have agreed to be part of a research trial investigating the outcome of resurfacing vs not resurfacing the kneecap.

I bought the book 📖. Btw I’ve seen more graphic operations on KZbin. Why they would flag yours is beyond me. Smh

Hello Dr Rosen, last month I had my hardware removal from my distal femur, my patella is immobilize and can only bend my knee upto 80°, my doctor says I won't be able to bend my knee unless I go for a knee replacement which I am unwilling at the age of 33. Is it possible to gain my knee range to some extent with exercise and physio?

The longer the knee has been stiff the more likely it is to be permanent. In certain cases a surgeon can arthroscopically debride the scar tissue and manipulate the knee to gain more motion. That would be a question you could ask your doctor.
