I didn't know about Mark Hedrickson. That is mad props for coming into baseball at 28 and playing 10 years.

Shoutout to Jeff Samardzija, I grew up near Notre Dame and he still is my favorite ND wide receiver of all time. He was as idol for me growing up as an athlete. I loved watching him pitch for my White Sox in 2015.

DJ Dozier has a famous catch. It was in the minors, he was an outfielder chasing a deep hit ball to the warning track. And he ran thru the fence like the kool aid man.

Your cover picture is incorrect. Bo Jackson was a baseball player that played football. He was always baseball first and made it clear from the start until the end.

Yup, even before getting injured and having to retire he said he was gonna quit playing football to focus on his baseball career. He said it was becoming to much of a strain on his family to play both sports. He was also asked recently which was his favorite sport and he said, don't ask that. It will always be baseball.

Didnt Drew Henson play for the Yankees as a September call-up and play QB for the Cowboys? Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson also played in the NFL and MLB

Doubtful since Glavine would've pitched Game 7 and probably had his third complete game of the series and an ERA of 1.33 or so.

Tebow flopping in the minor leagues and getting way more chances there than he deserved is wild. Even more wild is people on social media still trying to suggest his stats were even remotely good for the levels he was at. Had someone on IG try to suggest I had no idea about baseball because I didn't think his numbers were anything special.
@jak1165

Attendance was up 40% at games with Tebow. Even if he wasn't playing for the Mets, he was a draw. He would have continued to get chances on that alone
@Jrodsly
@Jrodsly Күн бұрын
@jak1165 That doesn't mean he deserved those chances over players with actual upside. You can draw fans all you want, but if you aren't talented enough to stay in the lineup, you're holding the franchise back.

@@Jrodsly It was pretty clear he wasn't actually blocking anyone if you watched the Mets in spring training. And anything that brings in more money to badly underpaid minor leaguers is a good thing

2018 in AA he hit .273/.336/.399 with 14 doubles and 6 homers in 84 games, i'd say those are ok numbers in AA for a 30 year old that really hasn't played baseball since high school

I’ll submit for consideration one Rick Leach, “The Guts and Glue of the Maize and Blue”; All-America quarterback, Heisman Trophy finalist, and Rose Bowl co-MVP (plus the last quarterback at Michigan to win two games against Ohio State in Columbus), he was also All-Big 10 and conference batting champion in baseball and although drafted in the NFL as a quarterback in the 5th round by the Denver Broncos, he chose to play baseball after being a first draft pick of the Detroit Tigers that same year. He played parts of 10 seasons in the bigs as a platoon player/pinch hit specialist (being lefthanded never hurts), mostly for the Tigers and Blue Jays either in the OF, at 1B, or as DH. Not an exceptional career to be sure, but dude played long enough to collect a pension, and that’s not nothing. As Casey Stengel once testified, “I had many years when I was not so successful as a ballplayer as it is a game of skill.”

Recently I've seen video of both Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton playing basketball and football in college and I know that at least Judge got offers from very prestigious colleges to play both basketball and football but that both men chose to go with baseball because they felt it was a more athletic and strategic yet long-lasting option than basketball or football so they went with Baseball. Given their sizes and how well they did in HS, it makes me wonder what would have happened had they went with one of the other two, either from the start or pivoting there after they started in MLB.
