Brief Description:
Some time ago at the Summer House, Cyclops and Professor X revealed to Vulcan that his two friends Sway and Petra are only energy constructs he created, but they could resurrect the real versions now. Vulcan doesn’t take it well and almost demolishes the house. As a result, he is no longer welcome there. Currently at the KEEP, Commander Brand asks Vulcan to join her X-Men team. However, several members seem less than enthusiastic and Manifold outright accuses her of murdering Henry Gyrich before he quits. When Morrowlands, an Arakkii artist colony, is attacked by the Progenitors, Brand sends her team there. However, the Progenitors quickly kill Cable and the Arakkii feel insulted by the highhanded way the team enters the fight, especially as Vulcan outright belittles them. When he turns against the Arrakkii in his anger, Storm’s new Brotherhood arrive and she freezes Vulcan. The Brotherhood work together with the Morrowlanders and manage to chase away the Progenitors. When Vulcan breaks free, he enters a battle of wills with Storm and loses. Later at the KEEP, Brand offers him another chance by suggesting he take a place on the Great Ring by challenging Tarn the Uncaring …

not really. at least not directly. it’s not apart of her usual move set, but her powers can likely give the effect of super strength. whether it’s hurricane force winds behind her fist or just literally manipulating the air pressure surrounding his throat. her powers allow her to do that, because she is literally just controlling micro weather patterns to win fights without having to rain hail on him lol. casual, to her at least.

The thing is Vulcan defeated Gladiator literally an issue before this by manipulating energy is Gladiator's body or something. So Vulcan should have been able to do something about Storm's lighting and blizzard attacks, because those are energy. Storm being OP is cool, but you can see the writer's bias whenever she fights.

Yeah, this was bull. I mean I am down for them making Storm look like the badass she is. But they made a guy who conquered the whole Shi'ar empire, made the X-Men bow down, drained Gladiator in a blink, beat Black Bolt with his own flash burn off, and beat Adam Warlock among other big crazy things look weak as sh*t. I do get he wasn't in his right made so it kinda makes sense, and their second fight helped Storm in playing him strategically to win. But they did Vulcan so dirty in this X-Men Red run, from Storm beating him so quickly to him suddenly having a weakness to getting wet and lost all his power in their second fight. And recently he was enslaved to Apocalypse, and used to power a spell to help Storm.

That's not true actually. They didn't depower Vulcan. They just treated the rest of the characters fairly. Also in S.W.O.R.D issue 9 and 10. The Lethal Legion easily overpowered the Imperial Guards and defeated them, but Storm onshotted them.. So its not about depowering Vulcan. Its respecting Storm and her capabilities. She can do everything he can and more. She is also a high energy manipulator y'know.

Then a small army of The Lethal Legion showed up, and Storm had to push her powers to the point her nose started to bleed to take them out fast. Plus the Lethal Legion knew the Imperial Guards weaknesses, so thy were able to take them out fast because of that. It should be noted that when Storm and the X-Men faced Gladiator and the Imperial Guard they needed help to beat them. But either way, and again I'm all for showing how awesome Storm really is. Cause they've down played her way way to often. And I get Vulcan wasn't right, so he wasn't 100% the same guy that did what he did. But they give him a weakness he doesn't have, in getting wet and all his power was gone like that. Sorry, and not trying to be a jerk or anything. But its actually the other way around, he can do everything she can to and more. His an Omega level energy manipulator and is said to actual be past Omega. He can absorb any thing she throws at him and drain her, he can also shutoff her powers. Her mutant and magic abilities (tho they aren't really anything big yet) are nothing new to him and nothing he hasn't easily beaten.

Weather manipulation is not Storm's power. It's just how her powers manifest. Most of her abilities seemingly have nothing to do with each other. For example, ALL of Vulkan's powers can be explained by the Summer's energy manipulation mutation. Wolverine's enhanced senses and stamina aren't separate powers. They're side effects of his healing factor. Point is, we have no idea what baseline mutation allows Storm to control so many different forces. It's almost like she's a reality warper. We've seen her control solar system destroying "cosmic storms" yet... Cosmic storms aren't weather. We have no idea what she's actually controlling that lets her do Phoenix level stuff but, its not just wind and electricity.

To generate wind, Storm controls temperature differentials in the atmosphere (Iceman). Electrical currents generate magnetic fields (Magneto). When she pulls water out of the atmosphere, is she controlling matter at the molecular (Molecule Man)?

If Wanda had been raised in Storm's place she'd probably be using her reality warping to make rain for the village. Wanda would think her powers were weather control. I'm sure that the official explanation will be different but, the point of Storm's powers going way beyond weather control is confirmed. Speaking of Wanda, Colossus' sister, "Magik" also has mutant powers that tap into "magic".
