I understood Storm's approach. For us, its easy to say yes, reset the timeline, but for her, she has lived those 100 years since. Built relationships, saw people live and die. In her eyes it's more important to destroy this entire concept of resetting timeliness. This is her reality, period.

I understand her line of reasoning - she's lived a full life in this hellish reality, made friends, built a new community (albeit one forged in a constant battle for survival), and she believes that resetting the lives of all those who have lived thus far would be cruel and unfair to them. It could be that she also wishes to punish Sinister by keeping him trapped in this nightmare of his own making, which i would fully support as a form of twisted irony - god knows the man deserves worse. THAT SAID...while i understand her reasoning...its a selfish one really. Realistically its an immensely difficult situation to place yourself in, because for all intents and purposes Storm is right - resetting the timeline would erase everything, including all those she knew and cherished and hoped for, and thats a heavy weight to consider, and not easily done. It's like having your finger hovering over that big red nuclear button...you know if you push it, it'll wipe out the enemy and end the horror of the war before you...but the sheer weight of taking all those lives, even for a person of great discipline...its enough to stop you dead in your tracks. But if you don't reset the timeline you're essentially dooming the universe in its entirety. Yeah sure it wasn't perfect or peaceful before the Age Of Sinister began, but as far as we know nearly all life in the Universe right now is basically Sinister or one of his trillions of hybrids, who are all as vain, selfish, cruel and sadistic as he is, and all have that same drive for power and deception. I can understand why Storm doesn't want to pull the plug on this dark universe she's in...but continuing to live in such a horrific place is no different than choosing to remain in the Age Of Ultron universe, or the vast emptiness of the Marvel Zombies universe. Places where there is no hope that things will get better. Evil has won, and it is flourishing. However bad the Marvel Universe was before Sinister screwed everything up, it was a damn sight better than what those who are uncorrupted by Sinister have to live in right now. I doubt even the Celestials remain alive...and if they do, they're probably being dissected by one of the Sinisters, or the Quiet Council to find a way of using thier powers.

the thing is I think her timeline is one of the one's that's not so bad. mutants are not extinct, huge populations in some alien empires, just krakoa fell and few earth-living mutants now. it could be worse.

Mutants are pretty much the ONLY species in the galaxy now thanks to Sinister, with every other race having been exterminated brutally or dissected in one of Sinisters labs. There’s no more “good” in the universe outside of Storm and a few dissidents in Sinisters new world, as nearly everyone is a massive egotist like Sinister and are all psycopathic in thier own ways. Hope Summers is a world conqueror who LOVES nuking planets with L-Bombs that are essentially clones of Legion who explode, and is worshipped by a cult of zealots whom she revels in thier adulation of her, often declaring “who do you love?” to her fleet before destroying yet another world - not for any tactical reason, just because she gets her jollies from such an act now. Emma Frost is now the Red Diamond Queen, with her diamond form now more resembling Ruby than diamond and the way she treats her “subjects” is a lot how Sindel treats hers in Mortal Kombat. Exodus has now duplicated himself an unknown number of times to the point every Exodus has thier own faiths and consider every other version of themselves to be heretics, and spend all thier time endlessly experimenting on vat grown subjects like some kind of morbid god. Asgard was destroyed by Fimbulwinter brought about by Magik, along with everyone who lived there including Thor, and there’s just massive drifting debris fields filled with the corpses of various races the Sinister Mutants have exterminated with ease. Oh and the Earth has long since been abandoned and is now such a terrifying and inhospitable place that even the Chaos Gods of 40k would be impressed, inhabited only by the refuse and run-off monstrosities created in Sinisters many many labs. And now with barely any opposition remaining, since everything IS him essentially, the Universe is utterly doomed and at the mercy of the 3 Sinisters who are all racing one another for something beyond Godhood (id wager it’s something like the one above all) So yeah I wouldn’t say it’s “better” compared to how thier universe was originally, but on the flip side I will say it’s better than living in the lifeless universe of Marvel Zombies, or the cold logical ego of Age Of Ultron. But only by a little - it’s still REALLY bad.

Storm has never for extended periods been shown to really drive her power to its full potential like some others. Controlling the atmosphere in any environment on any planet and space at a high level is much like warping reality. She has a power set that should put her beyond omega level.

Storm was mostly water with wind and lightning in and around her; that was elemental Storm. Then in an early Uncanny X-Men Storm was having dinner with Doctor Doom, and being charming and flirting. At some point he traps her and her claustraphobia kicks in and she transforms into this raging stormy version of herself with lighting coming out of her eyes and it describes her as "having as song deep inside her struggle to break free" or something like that. Much like I hope for Jean/Phoenix, I hope the MCU does a better job developing her. At her highest level she should easily be able to reshape the physical structure and environment of any planet. She can also survive in any environment. She is so in tune she can detect trees dying. Those could already put her beyond omega level. Then she has high magic potentials in her heritage. Imagine what she comics flirt at this, but never really go there. Imagine he developing powers similar to Dr. Strange or Scarlet Witch. I also hope the MCU develops her sister type relationship with Jean.

It makes sense when we remember that storms power to control the weather is not only limited to earths weather, but literally to the direct environment she’s in. Even in other dimensions, her powers have grown to expand to new elements and new areas of influence. And it’s also important to remember that with storm ever since her powers emerge, she’s never been small time, her powers have always allowed her to manipulate a multitude of different energies and matter all at once over a very large distance of space. Meaning that overtime as her powers grow so does her area of influence. That’s why I theorize that storms power at its fullest potential is the ability to manipulate the four fundamental forces of the universe. the forces behind the very weather of the cosmos. And then mixed with her mystic heritage, and even being descended from the first human sorcerer supreme. It makes sense why her powers working in tandem, boost her to the levels of being damn near a God. That’s how she’s a match for characters like Vulcan. Because it was even stated early on by Chris Claremont that her powers work by manipulating the energies behind the weather and nature itself. Makes the “absorbing the power of a galactic core” feat all the more understandable.

If we think about it. Her power basically allow her to connect to the environment she’s around and the energy working in tandem through it. And if you remember that with her claustrophobia from her traumatic event that killed her parents. She became scared of the inclosed spaces and basically things that don’t allow freedom. Her power may actually be nature manipulation. She may be subconsciously limiting herself to elements in more transient states, such as energy, moisture, air, precipitation, and elements in more fluid states. It maybe why she doesn’t manipulate ice much but yet can manipulate mist, moisture, and water to a less often extent. If she can manipulate one it makes sense she could manipulate all states. But it may be a mental thing. Might be why she doesn’t manipulate earth. Just a theory.

I see it as Storm believing they need to live with their mistakes and not run away from this universe. They should just continue on, fight back, and take back the universe. For example there are so many people born out of the circumstances of WW2, that if you went back in time and stopped the war and the holocaust from ever happening. "Beyond Omega Level" is a phrase that predates Hickman's definition, it's not actually a thing in-universe. She doesn't say anything about going beyond in this comic, and Knull saying she's extremely powerful is just hm recognizing her status as an Omega. It's impossible to be beyond Omega level because the potential of Omega level is infinite. And again, infinity isn't a number, it's a concept, so there's no such thing as "bigger infinities."

Creating a wormhole isn't reality warping. It's basically extending her ability to control cosmic weather, which is simply the electromagnetic spectrum, to now include manipulation of gravity in order to fold spacetime. Since science still has no idea what causes gravity, which is why its excluded from the standard model despite being a fundamental force, all Marvel is doing is playing it fast and loose by saying gravity is a form of energy.

@@kisubags437 Actually Magneto can do everything Storm can do and so much more. Magneto has complete control over the electromagnetic spectrum. His power really isn't just magnetism. Iceman is beyond Storm now to the point he's comparable to the Molecule man... to a degree. This ain't to say that Storm isn't a powerhouse because she most definitely is but Marvel left her lacking for years and stagnant to the point that she was introduced to us in. Her showings were actually more impressive in the early days. But yeah Storm can't fk Magneto in any category. She raw though.

@sovereign Bruh, Thanks to his mutation, Magneto deep understanding of electromagnetic and fundamental forces has allowed him to create stable, traversable wormholes. Meaning he can use them for simple teleportation. Idk how your knowledge goes but to use a wormhole for casual travel is a flex on top of a flex lol Magneto creates these with zero amp. Speaking of "amps" Storm had to get juiced up from another mutant and the use of magic to get the job done and then she keeled over and died. Magneto busts these open to make beer runs. They're not the same 🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♂️ Excalibur and House of M if I'm not mistaken is when he pulled off the wormhole feats. Controlled mind you lol

Since she is from an African magical shaman bloodline and a weather witch she is so more powerful than we even have had mentioned. Here’s 3 other over looked abilities; control over air which means breath so essential she can suffocate or even cause people to live under water or outer space. 2) blood/hemoglobin contains water this she could essentially control the water and blood in all living things even chlorophyll contains water for green planets as well. 3) lightning n electrical charges which could be used to disrupts polarization of planets

It isn't senility so much as overly optimistic pragmatism. If Moira clone dies, even if it isn't Moira herself, she will remember everything that has happened through the genetic memory, allowing her to further her own devious plans in less overt ways. It is a devil you know versus the devil you don't situation. If Storm could somehow send her own memories back, it would be a different story. And we all know that the Sinisters have a way to do it, so it really would just be a futile attempt at a new existence. As Apocalypse always says, only the strongest can truly rule.

That depends on if a clone of Moira counts as Moira. Is Moira going to have a memory of being in 30 places at once because there is several clones of her there? Considering Sinister has killed several Moiras to reset the timeline already Moira would already be aware of this going on unless that isn't the case.

We don't get much info on that, but I think it is because Moira is just a giant McGuffin that getting into the weeds would detract from the story. So maybe she remembers what she remembers, based on the writer at the time.
