Seriously, most of these type of rich people have *NO* common sense whatsoever. And this Stockton saying "I'm so smart!" in his mind about this and went to something Princeton thinking he's hot shit then ignores any safety regulations. The fact he went into international waters, which any and all laws go out the window once you are there and says a lot and it would look like fun and games until the moment it stops being that and you realize laws are there for good reason, even as dumb as they may be sometimes.

See the biggest problem with Titanic and the Lifeboats is thet there simple were not enough for everyone on board even if they filled them to capacity. Titanic had a lifeboat capacity of 1,178 people with the 20 Lifeboats it had on board however they had around 2,240 people on board between crew and passengers. The Merchant Shipping Act of 1894 basically said that any ship weighing over 10,000 tons should have at least 16 lifeboats able to hold 990 people. The Titanic however weighed nearly 50,000 tons and had 20 lifeboats, which was more than the law required. They simply did not have enough for everyone on board, plus they did not fill them to capacity as they evacuated the ship.

Something important to note is that. More lifeboats wouldn't necessarily have helped with the Titanic. They weren't able to launch all the lifeboats they had in time.

The Titan met with either Catastrophe, Accident, or Sabotage. The new era of Sea Exploration encompasses existing MIR and Alvin platforms, The Challenger Deep, The DSV Limiting Factor, and The Titan. Exact operating histories of these vehicles has not been reviewed entirely, but progress will proceed with these formats in mind.

There's a sub that's been to the bottom of the Mariana trench... wayyyy below the depths of the titanic. Why you can't legally buy them, I don't know, maybe it's more that you can't buy one and then use it as a business to take random people with $250k down to those depths like it's an underwater cruise ship lol.

They had one tv show in the mid 90s called Seaquest DSV. It had the guy who played the sheriff in Jaws. It was boring because nothing happened. It was more or less a preachy 22min of how man created a flooded earth. It did not last long.

Titanic really didn’t have enough lifeboats, even if every boat was filled to capacity, it would only be enough for half of those onboard. The main idea back then was lifeboats were used to transfer passengers from one boat to another if the ship was sinking slow enough. There was one lifeboat on Titanic that was overloaded: lifeboat 15 with 68 people onboard with a rated capacity of 65, the least full was lifeboat 1 with 12 people onboard, mainly because it was closest to the bow and by the time it was released most passengers had moved towards the stern
