Leorick T. Late reply but you have no choice in prison man, atleast most of the time. When you get locked up you’ve got 2 choices man either you become a warrior or a victim. Now not all prisons are really bad like some of the prisons in Cali or Florida are but you need the safety of numbers inside especially if you’re in a maximum security facility for any longer than a few years

By not trying to be a Lame, you become one. Be yourself, stay in your own lane, stand up for yourself whenever necessary. I'm a convicted felon and can tell you I never knew I was a real man until I got freedom, got to become a REAL father not just a dad, to see my family look at me with respect and when I respected myself. I'm past all the rash decision making. A real man is there (free) for his people and takes care of them not vice versa.

In 1992 I was 17 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Nevada NSP. Due to the fact that my father had just been executed in SAN Quentin and the fact that I was all over the papers at the time, I was a target before I even hit the yard. 2 weeks in the fish tank gave plenty of time for my name to hit the Yard. Because I refused to click up at all, with anyone....my first year on the yard was pure Gladiator school. I never had to turn on anyone, but have seen it to many times. There are just some things you cannot forget, or unsee. You chose a hard path full of anger and resentment. Later, as life becomes a bit more clear, the weight of your decision will come for you. What you do now will help, but in the end, the only way to rise above the shadow is to walk in the light.

Big Herc sounds like he time travelled from the past, where sound technology wasn't as good as it is today, to give this interview. (Thanks Big Herc)

Big herc needa get someone on who's been a victim in prison for not integrating with all the prison culture and get their whole side. I dont mean a snitch but someone who wasn't about that life and had to deal with the real harsh consequences of prison reality that happens to a lot of people who go in
