They'll have your real name and info in milliseconds, should they get a court order to do so. Same thing happened to my mom. She gave them her credit card number and they started doing some basic maintenance tasks remotely. Once I realized what she had done we got the credit card cancelled before they could complete the transaction and just took the computer offline. I looked through it a bit and they hadn't done anything except remove some temp files. If they were more sophisticated they could have gotten all her credit card numbers and other personal info, but I guess they just wanted that easy 500.

yeah I was absolutely furious. She fell for one of those ads that locks your browser and says your computer is infected or whatever. I had to explain to her and to several of my other relatives that its just an annoying ad and that they aren't doing anything to your computer with those. I got there about 30 minutes after she started the process, so we were lucky to get her card cancelled in time.
