No matter what GPU I game with, starting with my 1080 back in the day to my 4090... I ALWAYS turn shadow quality to medium, this makes a huge difference sometimes 20 fps and max everything else out

This is the way. If it only sharpen the shadows then it makes sense to use Low shadows because even in real life, you won't see sharp shadows even in hard light. It's more realistic that way while getting more fps. Maybe a bit more detailed and give more definition but definitely not sharp and fake looking. 🤷🏻‍♀️🥴

I swear, it is about time that someone makes some kind of tier list about *_Visual settings that are more worth to keep enabled in almost any game_* (=nicest visual quality while draining the least GPU performance possible): F tier for overrated taxing candy as Supersampling, RT, etc. S tier for the settings that in 99% situations is worth to leave enabled: anisotropic filter, etc.

Screen space reflections is another thing I turn down to atleast the high settings because going from ultra to high in most games boosts your fps by 15 to 20. There is almost no difference between "high" and "ultra" SSR

In my tests, the Ultra Performance mode in DLSS 4 delivers visual quality superior to the Quality mode at 1440p, and the performance is similar.

Well, all your recent tests are outdated now, haha. I just tested DLSS 4, and even in Performance mode, it delivered visual quality superior to 1440p native or DLSS Quality. The Performance mode in DLSS 4 is about 10% lighter than the Quality mode.

Lowering DLSS to performance, and even ultra performance before turning down any other graphic settings is weird. Most modern games still look great even on the lowest preset, so that should definitely be considered before turning to DLSS Performance (which is 1080p upscaled to 4K, that might be fine for a 24 inch screen, but I wouldn't use it on anything higher), and DLSS Ultra Performance (which is 720p upscaled to 4K).

The only thing oled tech is good or better at is true blacks the rest a good ips panel can mostly match and ips is cheaper in cost too dont get me wrong oled is the newer and better technology its just that ips panel still has alot to offer as well.

Can you try FSR Frame Generation mods its actually better than the official FSR 3 FG implementation and compare the motion fludity and image quality with DLSS 3 FG There are lots of installation guide available

I would advise you to look at the RTX 3080, RTX 4070 Super, or at least the RTX 5070 if you want almost double the performance! The RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 3070 Ti won't give you that much of FPS boost.

I would wait for the 5070. Games that need DLSS for performance will benefit greatly from all of the DLSS 4 features (multi frame gen looks very promising)

What's your budget? I'd say wait for the RTX 50-series launch and then make a decision. The 4060 Ti is not the best-value GPU. Especially if we're talking about the 8GB version.

4060 ti was generally not good though, unless there is specific use case for it. Unless the 16 gb is 350 usd .

12:30 if frame gen is enabled with HDR some game can do that ghosting shit. Sometimes the cause is Frame gen, sometimes the cause is Frame gen+HDR that means if you disable HDR but with frame gen on you don't get ghosting. In dragons dogma 2 the cause is frame gen, in Hogwarts legacy you cant keep HDR on with frame gen because of ghosting which can be resolved by disabling one of these two settings.

In using 3060ti for 2k. It works for all games, but not maxed out. If streaming at the same time, DLSS helps 😅

FSR 3.1 in Stalker 2 works fine with AMD RDNA3 7xxx cards in that game, problem comes with using older hardware

My 78X3D freezes on the loading screen so I have to play on low settings on vulkan. Very bad FPS, but I still play here and there. I hope they fix it soon. Also I turn off the multithread.

I have a 3080ti, and it got roughly 60fps on average. Some newer games like Far Cry 6 and Resident Evil would have huge fps drops. Fc6 would actually run fine until the map was pulled up on the screen, then it would run at 5fps. For some reason, a resolution of 7880x1440 works better than 3840x2160. I ditched 4k because the 3080ti just doesn't work well with newer games at that resolution.

@@godofpig4798 There really isn't. It's a vram limitation. When a game goes over 12gb, you have issues. Both of those games push over 12gb at 4k. The 3080ti is the recommended spec for Indiana Jones. That's just to get 1080p at 60fps. Games are requiring more vram, and the 3080ti is unable to do 4k. Older games work fine, and new ones don't. Starfield would drop to 40fps at times at 4k.

​@@AtteroDominatusAre you sure the issue is VRAM capacity? I played both FC6 and RE4 at 4K and Maxed out settings and had zero issues. I was using FSR Ultra Quality and DLSS Quality (modded) correspondingly. Neither game exceeded 12GB buffer of my card.

@@theivadim Thank you for the quick response. I currently use a regular mechanical keyboard from Corsair, but it's about time to replace it with something more comfortable and preferably silent. Mechanical-magnetic switches were recommended to me, but if possible without drawbacks, I would like to replace the built-in switches with something like the Akko Rosewood ones. They sound heavenly to my ears. I recently discovered that I’m very susceptible to any kind of noise, and it’s driving my nervous system crazy.

If you’re sensitive to noise, mechanical keyboards might not be the best choice for you. Have you tried membrane keyboards? While they don’t offer the same satisfying keypress feel as mechanical ones, they can be significantly quieter in my experience.

hold up what is the thought process behind 4k gaming at a 27inch isn't it generally too small to tell a difference without pixel peeping? I looked into this quite a bit when i was researching what monitor to get and if i recall 27inch for 4k barely anyone could tell the difference because it was too small and dense to notice much from 1440p to 4k. The general noticeable difference was 32inch at 4k so considering this is at 27inch isn't this result skewed slightly and i mean slightly since it doesn't have to render onto a bigger screen say a 32inch where typically is what most ppl would buy 4k at. You can kinda see my concern already during indiana jones where the dlss scaling not improving as much once you hit dlss balanced with the gpu load being at 100% at that point it's just the card isn't fast enough so i can imagine these results being worse or just slightly worse if the screen size was at 32inch.

4K 27-inch monitors are quite popular and offer amazing image quality thanks to their high pixel density, which is impressive. While I prefer 32-inch 4K monitors, for now, I only have a 27-inch 4K. Eventually, I’ll add a 32-inch 4K monitor to my arsenal.

I have a 32 inch 4K monitor and 3060. With DLSS performance it is better at 4K than running it at 2K or 1080p native. Very playable at 4K after tinkering the settings. For those who will be just gaming and doing personal productivity work only this card is probably the best all rounder. I get to play MSFS 2024 at high settings at 4K30 and it is ok because the flight simulator visuals are slow - without DLSS even the 4090 can't do 4K60 in this sim in ultra.

If you’re buying new, I’d recommend waiting for the RTX 5070 or the RX 9070 XT instead. NVIDIA’s DLSS remains unmatched, so I wouldn’t suggest going with AMD unless you’re fully aware of what you’re getting into. Personally, I wouldn’t switch from NVIDIA to AMD unless I were gaming at native 1080p.

I can run Black Myth Wukong on my 13620H with a 4060 144hrz refresh 1080p if that laptop with a gpu that is in reality a 3050 play these games i am sure it can do it having 12gb vs my 8gb lol

I don’t have that card, but you can check out my RTX 4060 4K gaming video to see the limitations of 8GB of memory when paired with a 4K display. It's doable, but you won't be able to enjoy every game at high graphics settings.

@@ADepressedGuy-l1p I've read hundreds of comments from several different sites, message boards, and social media verifying that DLSS 4 quality looks better than native. There are several videos right here on KZbin making the exact same claims, from reputable sources. I'm 47 and have worked in tech since 18, being an ET (electronics technician) in the US Navy on subs, and there are ALWAYS people like you, that are for whatever reason, wholly resistant to changes in tech. In my 29 years in tech, from electronics technician, to network admin, to server admin, to systems analyst (current) I've seen tons of complainers like you guys. A new networking protocol is introduced, complaints from gramps, why do we have to reconfigure all the access points? Wifi v3 was working just fine. Wifi v4 is too buggy...A new ASA installed the server room, _grumble, grumble, grumble._ Like it or not, DLSS, frame gen, etc., are the future. Due to quantum tunneling, we can't just keep shrinking down transistors and cramming more and more onto chips to brute force more frames. More elegant software solutions MUST be implemented in order for graphics tech to advance. Which is exactly what we're seeing. This is why I call you gramps, because there are ALWAYS people like you who complain about things that are necessary for advancement.
