I'm willing to bet in a couple of these cases that the officers knew of some specific story where someone in their department had done something they shouldn't have and were thinking they were being proactive. SMH. I kinda understand where it comes from, since these people spend time dealing with life and death situations on a daily basis, but that shouldn't put them above the law. This is why we need to take things like this completely out of their hands where their personal bias can't play a role on the complaints process. Set up a branch of the FBI who's sole purpose is to process complaints around the country made anonymously online. With modern technology, it is becoming harder and harder to hide evidence of crimes like this. Once the entire country is outfitted properly with body cameras, less and less nonsense will be able to pass.

I didn't react fast enough because i was scared not to mention the 3 flash lights on my face so one of the cops use a baton and hit the back of my knee so I can get on my knees. They checked us found nothing but still drove up about a mile or two from where we were to another gangs territory and left us there. All my friends ran but I couldn't run because my knee was messed up so I had walk. Luckily no one was hurt but I did get home late. When I arrived home I told my parents what happened and they When the next day to file a report but my dad said they didn't have forms and said one of the cops got aggressive and confrontational. My Dad ended up staying in the police station all day and night then left off with out justice ever being served. I wasn't actually friends with the kid walking with me including the gang bangers. We just lived on the same block and chose to walk together. Till this day I've had a fear of cops. A few years ago I got stopped by cops while driving and immediately started panicking. At first the cops thought I was hiding something but I was able to explain to them that I have a few of cops from my childhood and very Luckily they understood and left me go. The problem is that most of THESE kinds of cops never went to a "cop school". No academy training. No law enforcement degree. Nothing but previous military experience, or sometimes just a willingness to crack skulls thanks to their former "career" as a school bully. These cops are not people who give a shit about the law. They didn't become cops because they want to protect & serve, nor because they care about law enforcement. They become cops because it's a way to legally continue being aggressive bullies, or because they're ex-military guys that were too dumb to make a career in the armed forces or any other career after their discharge. We should make it requirement that EVERY cop either has a degree in law enforcement, or has attended and graduated from a proper police academy. The fast-tracking departments have been doing with ex-military applicants has been terrible for our nation. Military service is a good thing, but not every person who enters the military has the temperament or social skills to be a police officer. They're entirely different skillsets.

Some of these news vids look so old. I always like to remind people of how much we need the police. Without police it would be a fucking nightmare to live anywhere. With that said, I'm very glad to see corruption like this exposed. I understand that sometimes cops can make hasty mistakes when in dangerous scenarios but having a citizen ask for a complaint form is something they should always know how to handle properly(just give them the damn form). Stop trying to cover each other's backs when it comes to exposing one another's bad actions. If there's clarity and nothing to hide, just follow the law and grant the civilian the right to complain. The way these cops treated the investigators was disgusting.

Having said that, since I was a little kid, and I'm way past my little kid stage, I've always heard the #1 requirement to be a P.O. is to be dumb. Could it be? I don't know. I do know that walking into a Police Station, regardless of the way you are treated, could be a very intimidating experience which doesn't help much if you ever need their help for anything. Particularly if it involves someone connected to one of them.
