Have you ever struggled with an eating disorder and if yes which one? If you are okay with answering of course! Ballet can sometimes be one of the best and one if the worst. Especially if you are dealing with an eating disorder, because the "ideal ballet body" is a skinny girl with long and lean arms and neck and legs and this can cause insecurities by some people. I love you. Byee

Hi Hannah, love watching your video's and your journey. I would love to see a video where you could explain a bit more how things work in your ballet company. For example: How do you get cast for roles, what's rehearsal like, and how does it work with the call times or why did the roles you danced in don q vary almost every night. Love to know those ins and outs about company life!

This is crazy! I also used to be a dancer and was diagnosed with the same condition, they ended up taking out the extra bone in my foot and it’s so much better now many years later. Mine also got dislodged and the only thing that fixed it was surgery.

They are a little bit of a pain aren’t they? Didn’t realise such a small bone could cause so many issues!

Hi Hannah today I was offered an opportunity to study ballet on something like a scholarship and I'm so excited I would have never been motivated to keep trying without you, anyway the problem is that my body has certain limitations especially my ankles, just standing on them too long brings me pain sometimes which would make it very hard to do ballet, but I was also offered a spot in Contemporary and I have decided to listen to my body and not join ballet this year. I just wanna thank you for inspiring me

DUDE! that exact same thing happened to me and my ankle!!!! i was in pt for 10 months trying to correct it in that way (i was a very high candidate for surgery prior to the pt) and i had to stop dancing during that time which was brutal but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there girlfriend 🥰🥰 surprisingly enough the pt was able to strengthen the muscles around my little bony impingement friend and cushion it enough to take away the pain!

Your so inspiring Hannah❤️ I had Os trigonum on my left foot previously. And it was very painful for me, so I hope your feeling any better. At the end I actually got a surgical procedure to remove the extra bone, because my foot was so inflamed from all the dancing and pointe work. I hope everything will be fine for you💓

But now my foot is doing great, no pain anymore. Just a bit stiff :)

@@HannahMartinRG Good luck with the upcoming operation! When I came back to the studios again I felt a relief because I had no pain, but of course my ankle was stiff and sore afterwards for a long time. I’m sure you’ll come back so much stronger❤️ I feel like I’ve become a better dancer after the operation.

Another point on dealing with rejection - try to remember that your efforts in that audition process weren't wasted. Focus on what you learned and what you can take forward in your life. Good luck with your recovery, it sounds like you've got a good mental strategy, now you've just got to keep reminding yourself of it while you finish the final stretch. :)

Hi Hannah, thank you for the video! I’m sorry about your injury. There is an upside which may sound strange to young people: The life experiences that you are acquiring will help you relate to other people, and will help you to be a comfort and support to peers and younger people you will be mentoring. For example, I went through a period of bad depression. Years later, when a family member had bad depression, I was able to help him a lot and I felt grateful for my experience (for the first time!) so I could relate to him. And he took me seriously because he knew that my experiences were real and that I recovered, which gave him hope. (He is much better now.) I am sure you are exactly the type of person that younger dancers would feel comfortable confiding in, and you will be able to relate to them and help them, which will increase your bond with them. I’m not a dancer or an actress, but probably the life experiences you undergo will help you to relate to certain characters you are portraying much better than someone without the same life experience. And that will probably give you a deeper satisfaction as well. Tip for maintaining mental health at tough times through realistic and positive self-talk: look up “cognitive distortions.“ These are common types of negative thoughts that we all have, and we learn how to deal with them. As an elite athlete, you may have done cognitive behavior therapy in order to maximize your mental toughness. If not, I would recommend it to everybody as you learn to identify emotions, your actions based on your emotions, and how to stop negative patterns. Best of luck to you, my dear!

As a queer and disabled woman, if you told me you're praying for me I would probably pretend to be appreciative but I'm not. I find it to be incredibly invasive and patronistic, no matter *your* reasoning. Please think twice about this if the person themself isn't religious and *especially* if they're queer, trans, disabled, or otherwise marginalized.
@Thunderpaws1112 жыл бұрын
Hi Savannah, I think that this works both ways. Are you suggesting that disabled, queer, trans, or people marginalised in any way, do not believe in God? They might, or might not. Every person is entitled to have their own belief system - or none at all - it’s ok. It’s kind of hard to please/acknowledge/engage/be accepted, or say the right thing to every viewer of one video. But this is Hannah’s video, and she is sharing what works for her, so let’s accept and respect.
@thewayiam2032 жыл бұрын
As another queer and disabled woman that is not even religious--- this makes no sense. If I opened up to my friend about going through a difficult time, and they were sincerely wishing me well, I would not take it for granted and definitely would not try to twist the situation and add ill meaning to it. Do people really have to think twice about any and every little innocuous thing they say around me just because I'm disabled? If anything that is more patronizing
@dronesclubhighjinks2 жыл бұрын
Honest question: how is it invasive? One could look at the idea of someone else praying for them as that person has kind intentions and sincerely cares enough to think about one and wish one well - if the religious aspect does not appeal to one. A previous reply has already mentioned it, but how can one assume that queer etc. people that you mentioned do not believe in God? Hope you have a nice day!
