I’m the #1 Guerlain stan on the internet, and I’m peeved af. It’s so frustrating that not only the new lipsticks don’t fit the old cases, but they never even announced they were redoing their formulas and cases!!! They market them to be life long lasting treasured keepsakes, and now the die hard collectors can’t even use the ones they have. The only “silver” lining is that the cases look GORGEOUS in gold!!!

There is a market for vintage makeup, particularly items in ornate casing. I follow several channels that focus on vintage. And Guerlain could end up course correcting in the future.

The Gold Palette is the perfect undertones for my warm olive tones. The Gold Palette has my favorite ND mattes. But… my Gold Palette is getting long in the tooth. Right now it’s performing okay, but when it needs replacing I was sad they’d be gone forever because Gold is long discontinued. I’m so glad it’s here in a midi and hopefully with some of her updated shimmers! What a dream palette!! I could not be happier!!! I will love buying it when my Gold needs to retire. It’s not a snooze to me!!! MAYBE the leak was real the very first time it happened (maybe)…but then it caused such a frenzy that it worked in their favor. I think they have all been done as a marketing tactic. They are definitely “leaks”😏. Golden was a new way of doing it (IT WAS A TECH ISSUE! 😂😂), but please! How stupid do we look? 😂😂😂😂 I’m interested in the Dior Warm Essentials. I’ll wait for reviews and swatches to decide!

Apropos repeat shades in palettes, we often forget that there are new customers entering the world of cosmetics all the time. Why should those newcomers, or those people who missed the original release of previous pallets, be denied access to some of a brand’s more popular shades? As long as a balance is maintained in releases, I don’t care if not everything is going to be for me. I like it when a brand releases a variety-some cool products, some warm products, some matte products, some shimmer products, etc. When something isn’t for me, I don’t get upset. I know that there is always another collection just around the corner that will please me. People who are dis-ing the golden palette need to chill. I’m nudging 81 and there is very little that is new to me. I’m more interested in the changes in formulation and finish than I am in the actual color. As I said, I’ve seen just about everything in the 66 years I’ve been wearing makeup. Take a look at Lexi Jong’s video showing what the old Guerlain lipstick looks like when put in a new case. You can do it, but there is a bit of a gap between the lipstick component and the case. I was not initially thrilled because I love Rouge G and have some stunning cases, but I ordered a new case and lipstick to see for myself if I could “live with” the change😊.

I am done with Natasha Denona for this very reason, it’s not fair to the hardworking creators to be put in this position, nor to the consumer who gets jacked up by the fomo to buy quickly.

I thought the same when I first saw it, but $69 for only 4 new shades is a bit much for me. All the other shades are re-releases and I have them. I hope you love it though. 9 repeats from Gold, 1 from Star & mini bronze,& 1 from palette 04&original. If I hear that all those repeats have been reformulated, I may pick it up too.

I have loyalty $ to put towards it, and I’ve decluttered a really significant portion of my makeup this year to suit my color season.. as a true spring this is a very calculated purchase for me! My gold palette is many years old and I have not wanted to get rid of it, but since she almost never releases any new stock of gold palettes, I think it is worth it for me. I prefer the more artistic warm ones like triochrome and yucca but this can go with those better than her other nudes.

@HeatherHasGame It's always fun to purchase fun new makeup items with loyalty points or deep sales! I think it makes it even more enjoyable. I am like you and try to make well-informed and scrutinized consumer purchases but I can be turned with a flashy new ND palette. I love neutrals. I only made the post to be informative. There is no judgment on my part on what items anyone else in the world chooses to purchase with their hard earned money. Thank you for sharing why this palette will be coming home with you. If I didn’t have a drawerful of gold-toned and neutral eyeshadows, that Natasha palette would be a big YASS for me. Pass on everything else. A big complaint I have is the “clean beauty” trend. This amounts to cosmetics having a shorter shelf life and more $ out of my pocket. I’m particularly disappointed that Guerlain has jumped on this silly fad. Their Rouge G lipsticks are, in my view, the very best formula in all of luxury beauty. And they have changed an absolutely amazing product. WHY?!😤😩 I for one will be glad when this trend goes away.

You didnt mention the HUGE price increase in the Geurlain lipstick cases and lipsticks. The cases price went up to around $36 or $38 . It's crazy. Lexi Jong a you tuber purchased like 10 of them and they are beautiful but for the total of $80 you get yourself One lipstick. If your getting the case. I dont care how rich someone is, that is obserd.

These likely won’t be available in Australia for a while but if a new case + new lippy is USD80 they will probably be AUD130-140. Utter lunacy. They have shafted all of us who have been collecting the original cases for years. They’ll do the same with these new cases at some point down the track too. It’s a huge No from me to start buying any of these new rouge g cases and lippies.

Yasss to the ND palette-I fell in love with the shimmers and gold shade in the YUCCA palette and by that time the Gold palette was no longer available-so, to have an entire palette in this color story, count me in! I’m pretty sure the ‘leaks’ are marketing strategies but her eye palettes are so gooood that it’s fine! I may buy the gold topper gloss too-Laura Geller used to do a gold gloss-it was gorgeous to put on top of a lipstick and it’s no longer available

Laura Geller has done the marbled blushes and they were sold in Sephora then later at Ulta. Her brand was prominent at Sephora but left the store sometime around 2009 or 2010, then came Hourglass who did the same thing with the marbled colors. LG blush was phenomenal. It can still be purchased on her own website, the LG site I think

I had the ND Gold palette and finally decluttered it recently bc it's massive and unwieldy and I just never used it. The Golden looks perfect for me, in that between it, the Zendo, the Bronze, and Yucca, I will probably have my warm neutral bases totally covered. Now if only she would sell empty palettes of different sizes and label the bottoms of the pans, that's the dream for me!

Warm neutrals suit me and I’m not really into loads of colours for everyday. I don’t buy every ND palette, this one is something I will wear. The Yucca looks lovely but when I went through my stash, I have some lovely yellows, mustards and greens and I don’t wear them much, I like them, but they aren’t everyday colours. The new palette looks like it could be an everyday workhorse and would complement the Bronze palette.

Its actually a light pink with a tinge of peach. Preordered the Chantecaille peach blush. Because I cannot resist a peach blush, so I will let you know how it is once I get it.

Just FYI, the Westman Atelier blushes are very different from Mimi. That picture makes them look very muted. I have all 3, and coquette is a bright light pink with a bit of sheen like Minette, but more corally pink. Garçonne is much deeper than Mimi. They still may not be for you, but those swatches definitely look more muted than they are in person.

Oh Natasha Denona needs to just stop with her “leaks” and just drop the photos and be honest about it. I can’t decide if I want the Gold palette since I tend to wear mostly silver jewelry. I definitely want to try the Mario bronzer! The Kosas blushes are a Laura Gellar rip-off, except they won’t last as long. 😬 I’m so upset at Guerlain! Why would they screw us with the packaging?? (Having said that I’m totally getting that Art Deco case. It’s stunning. 😂) You and I are Fendi lovers and I’m excited about the fragrances but I am concerned about the number that they’re releasing. Sofia…the new cases are shrinkflation, green washing and built in obsolescence in one fell swoop. Guerlain didn’t do anyone or any planet any good. I’m pretty sure they could have used design wizardry to make the new lipsticks fit the old components and offered new metal colours to customers who are long time customers.

I'm excited for the Natasha Denona Golden palette because I can't stop myself from her midi palettes and I honestly like the new formulas she has used in the last three, hoping for more of that in this new one. I did try the body spray (the orance almond one) and while it's not amazing or anything, it's light and refreshing and exactly as you described. It's fun out of the shower to use and refreshing. I love your mascara by the way. If I didn't already have enough mascara. I like your lashes better. Love that it doesn't clump and the natural look you are rocking. I am so over all these bronzers. I have more than enough with my Pat Mcgrath ones (which honestly are great for light skin) and I have a Charlotte Tilbury one that I use. I have others that I don't even use. I wish I could get that Tom Ford fragrance. I'm sure it's fabulous. So expensive though. Maybe at the next big sale. Thanks for a great video.

This is the third time that Fendi is launching perfumes. In the past, they were very special and nothing mainstream like YSL, Lancôme, etc. I liked a few of them in the past and was so sad when they were discontinued. I hope that these ones will also be special and good. ❤

Hi Sofia, For people who are interested the new Natasha Denona pallet contains 11 shades from old pallets- Alicia Archer founded them all. And yes, it was “leaked”.😜. Except the new Chantecaille blushes everything else is a hard pass for me. But if the blushes are similar in texture with RMS or Rare Beauty blushes I will skip them as well. I have a feeling they are different judging the pictures and zi can’t wait to see reviews. Thanks for sharing!🙂

Regarding Natasha Denona leak, she said on her stories that they are redoing their website, and there was a glitch with the system, as they were testing the migration of the information from the old site to the new one. She started the story with the words “this time it was us”. So she is well aware that all of her new launches get leaked.

I bought the ND Gold Palette only a few days prior to Christmas which I found on eBay. I really don't have an issue with the new Midi-Palette and will definitely buy that when released. As for Dior, this Backstage Eye Palette is replacing Amber Neutrals from what was the regular line. Just as the Warm and Cool Neutrals have been replaced with totally different colour stories, so has this one, No.3. Rosewood Neutrals will be the next to go, so grab it if it appeals to you as I can guarantee this will change as well. Curious as to whether the Custom Palette will ever return? I'm not at all thrilled by Guerlain! With all the lipsticks and cases that I own, I should be able to change them around how I feel. I love the look of the new cases but why change the sizing so that the old lipsticks can't fit. I agree that they are quite heavy and this would be the only reason that they were changed. All this talk of reducing Carbon Emissions from a lipstick case is simply a joke! You can't tell me that they couldn't have made the cases to fit the old lipsticks whilst still making them lighter. Do they really think we're believing this rubbish they're selling us? Badly done Guerlain. The Prada Lip Balms are selling for the same price as their lipsticks. I did buy a few of Rabanne's Balms and will happily purchase again, although considerably cheaper then Prada. The Rabanne have a beautiful creamy texture that contains colour too. Never have I felt a balm as creamy as these are. A nice alternative for those who also suffer very dry lips.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

I love the fact that the fragrance doesn't last as long as a real perfume, but for a good reason: this way I can change my fragrance throughout the day! I own a couple of perfumes, incl. Tom Ford Bitter Peach and the Fenty perfume, and these literally will still be recognisable on me the next day, which can be quite annoying if I want to wear a different scent then.

Product manager for a cosmetic brand here - sustainability improvements for luxury cosmetic products is quite tough, since it usually affects what consumers perceive as luxurious, e.g. magnets for lipstick cases, mix of different materials, specific materials, special molds or the weight. Currently we are mostly looking at how to decrease carbon emissions indeed, so I understand Guerlains move and we as consumers have to shift our perception a little bit if we want the market to become more sustainable. However, the Guerlain lipsticks are marketed as keepsake so they could have done a better job to ensure the lipstick refill still fits the old packaging - as some others have pointed out, this would have definitely been the most sustainable solution.

The Natasha Denona Yucca has those pops of greens and mustards along with golds, coppers if anyone missed the ND Gold Palette. I still will like to have the ND Gold Palette and Midi Golden. I like to have to wear and compare them. I think the neutrals are paving the way for her. Biba, Glam, My Dream, I Need a Nude. I personally love Circo Loco. Those colors POP! I love to see how out there that she can go with colors. She is one that I tend to stay curious about with her creativity. Natasha is hitting it with complexion. I wonder if she is going to release a Hy-Glam Blushes? If she does, I really need her to take it all the way in color explosion. Dior Backstage Warm Essentials is pretty. You can go so light to so dark with a touch of smoke. Very intrigue by Fendi fragrance and await their full beauty line as well Miu Miu.

I’m very similar to you, Glam and INAN don’t suit my complexion and tastes so I actually like the Golden palette. I do wish she had included the teals though, similar to the eggplant shades in Bronze I think the pops of color are fun. I do hope this has some of the newer formulas like in INAN.

I'm kind of bummed that the ND Golden palette kind of looses the uniqueness that the original Gold palette had with it's teals and green shifting shimmers. I feel that with the amount of neutral leaning palettes of different sizes and variations that she has available in her product line, this just kind of gets mushed in with the rest of them. For me this would be replacement palette to some other older ND palette that I own, but not something that I would be getting, because I feel it brings something different to my collection of ND palettes.

I like the SDJ body mists (Sephora has a set that has some of the popular ones) but I’m not sure about the summer ones. All I’ve heard is that they are not different enough from the core line. I have been enjoying the body mists from the Target dupe line Finery. Some are really interesting for a body mist - not the one-note, sugary spritz from my youth. I hate that I still love Chantecaille, but I can usually wait for a sale. I’m curious about the whole summer collection, but it’s just so expensive.

I am interested in your review and comps of the new chantecaille bronzer 💛 sirena looks too light for me and not warm enough but goa is too muddy - I just adore the finish and the new bronzer component looks SO much more elegant (finally). I just hesitate because i really need swatches of the bronzer before committing. . I absolutely think the ND leaks are on purpose and as a consumer i find that behavior insulting and distasteful. That said, i am absolutely in love with the new golden palette, it is MADE for me. I have not been into the recent cool tone drops and have often wished for an option like my beloved Gold and Yucca that lives in a more mid depth range. one thing ND does well is specific undertones and I look forward to that from the golden. I have palettes that claim to be neutral but rarely are they actually neutral on me. . the guerlain component is so much more appealing to me in gold 🥰 and i don't have any so I am a good candidate. . i worry the new mario sculpting serum is going to be too cool or muddy. seeking swatches on warn skin for those. . thanks for all the tea!

Do you know if the ‘Flesh’ colour in the ND palette is the same as the one of the same name in the bronze mini? Because when I put that on it looks straight up orange on my cool skin. If that’s the most neutral and lightest shade in the palette then God knows how orange everything else would look!

The reformulations...where to start. Luxury is something very different to Gen Z and Alpha. Even what Millenials think luxe is differs to Gen X. The clean, green, lean and mean recycled plastic is the new bougie hook for the younger folk. If I go into Mecca, I hear fascinating conversations about perceptions of luxury, high end and what constitutes budget. There have been seismic shifts in what Gen Z expects compared to dinosaurs like me. The ingredients change has been sparked by the Johnson and Johnson talc case. Also, given the issues since 2020, businesses are taking advantage of upping prices and delivering less cloaked in caring terms.
