Hi. Greetings from Bramley! I have that set of zips in my stash because they're always useful to have around. I went and had a look at the 7t7 website and succumbed to the temptation of their mystery box. I haven't joined the subscription box yet because I'm not sure I need that many bags and I don't have space for much more stash. I live in a small flat, my sewing has completely taken over my living room. I looked at the website for the Stitch Festival and I'd love to go, but to be honest, I'm really not well enough. Maybe Harrogate in November with my daughter in law for company. Always enjoy your meanderings, the local accent makes it feel like a friend chatting.

Ruan I love that red fabric. Can't wait to see what you make with it. You did a great job on the fabrics on your sofa caddy. You have great taste. As always love your videos.

Well done with the sofa tidy, very inspirational. I am very excited to see how you get on with the caddy..........I am in love with caddies and want to do one myself. XXX

Zips by the yard are such good quality for bags! You are scared because you have never done the pulls. We have always been taught not to pull a zip apart! It can be frustrating at first, but you can do it!!❤❤ I got the sofa caddy also! Can't wait to start making it!! (Squeel!!)

Happy Friday Ruan, awesome bags, what was the fabric for the green bestie, looks great. I'm thinking of quilting my fabric first. Like the animal print of yours. Love the bag makes box, would need to figure out the exchange to Canada. Love the sofa caddie, looking forward to your kit from Adam sewn up. See ya next time

Hello Ruan! I really love your sofa caddy. I have the pattern too. I love Adam. He’s such a sweetheart and so talented. I have a load of fat quarters from sew Haley Jane boxes. I never could figure out what I wanted to make with them 😅. So I’m using them for this project. Need to use what I have or I’m going to get buried in all the fabric and yarn 😂. Love your bestie bags. What a wonderful gift. I made my daughter in law two adjustable book covers and she loves them 😊. Makes me feel good to make something that others like. Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane ❤

Thanks so much Ruan! Love your other goodies and so glad you love the bag maker's box! I have to disagree with you though - you can def pull fabrics to go together - your caddy is awesome! Well done :)

The red fabric with textured designs is fabulous. Your sofa tidy looks wonderful-love how you used fabrics given to you by special friends. Adam has such a gift for combining fabrics. He showed a mini iron case that is available in his shop. I don’t even have a mini iron, but it’s so pretty, I’d love to have it. How silly is that?😂 Happy sewing, Ruan.

I love your videos and just a hint - there are shorts and You Tube videos on how to attach zipper pulls to the zipper tape using a fork. It is very cleaver and works well. The sofa organizer from Adam is wonderful and I will making one of them as I also cross stitch and I use a plastic bin and lose my thread repeatedly, so thank you for showing your creations, it looks fabulous. AS for not color matching you got it right! Take care and continue the excellent work.😀❤

You can always buy a charm pack or layer cake (I love quilting terms) of fabric from Cotton Patch for instance which helps with the matching fabric problem as I’m the same…if you ever make something like this again, but wow I love your sofa tidy!

A few years back,Teresa @lostmythread did a mend/alter challenge. It inspired me to fix or alter ten (yikes!) garments that had been languishing in my mending basketFor way too long. Some of them have become favourite garments since I got off my duff and fixed them. All that to say, YES, a mending video is a good thing. Thanks as always Ruan for your videos💕🇨🇦

the zip-by-the-meter is easier than you think - with that chunky kind. The smaller ones can be super frustrating, and I've had to walk away and have a cuppa a few times before eventually succeeding!

I can see why you love the sofa caddy Ruan! . It is just amazing 😍I was excited and happy to see that you were able to use the cute cat fabric I sent you a few years ago😄 I always struggle with putting fabrics together for projects too with all my quilting cottons and tend to buy fat quarter bundles 😊 I think you did a great job though ❤ I’m looking forward to seeing your caddy.

I was finding it a struggle to put the zipper pulls on to the zipper tape when bag making, but now I use a device called The Zipper Jig, and it's quick and easy. Highly recommend.

Hi, lovely to see you. I have made a couple of hoodies and added eyelets which I find are stronger and more stylish than buttonholes. Just a thought in case (when😉) you make another one. I love the bestie bag and will get on and make one for myself soon. What about dressing gowns or lounge wear for your friends next year, although I appreciate a bit more time consuming ❤

By Annie and Sallie Tomato (plus many others) have great tutorials on attaching zipper pulls to zippers by the yard. There are also inexpensive zipper jigs available to purchase that keep the pull in place while you line up the sides and pull them through. Honestly, the tutorials will get you through without any additional tools.
