Just yesterday I read a report about an 18 year old girl who had ben raped by 12 guys over 2 hours. It happened in the bushes near to a club, where she had accepted a drink by one the guys who later raped her. She sometimes slipped slightly into consciousness, so she described a few faces. Don't accept drinks from anyone, girls, not even from friends, unless you know them for very very long. And don't even trust bartenders.

I was on a night out with my friend. We’d had one glass of wine and moved on to the next pub. In the second pub a group of guys came over and bought my friend a drink. I thankfully declined. Within 15 minutes of her accepting a drink it was like she was paralytic. I managed to get her into the ladies toilets and she just collapsed unconscious. I ran out to the bar staff and asked them to call an ambulance. The paramedics turned up and had to carry her out. I spent all night in an A&E corridor with her unconscious in a wheelchair waiting on blood results. I didn’t believe things like this happened in my area until I witnessed it with my own eyes. I can’t imagine how anyone could be turned on having sex with someone in this state! Disgusting.

Chat Noir - it’s quite a scary thought that there are young men that are going out in groups with the intention of doing this. Before my experience I was naive and thought that it was just old pervs and weirdos that couldn’t get laid. Now I know it could be anyone. The worst part was the same guys were standing at the bar smirking as we were escorted out by the paramedics and at that point it hadn’t even occurred to me about spiking. I thought she’d had a stroke or something. Because I knew we hadn’t drank enough for her to be like this. What is really upsetting is that they may have used my friend as a guinea pig and gone on to attack someone else that night or nights after 😭 In some ways I feel guilty I wasn’t more aware to the situation, I replay walking past them with the paramedics in my head, and it frustrates me!!! But I was 24 and the dots didn’t connect until the morning after.

Thing is they're not having sex. They're raping them. I know it seems obvious to say it but there is a massive difference. Rape isn't about sex, it's about power. I get what you mean though, how anyone could keep it up to penetrate someone who's completely unconscious. It's truly horrifying. Thankfully for those who have experienced it there is a permanent memory loss that comes with the drug being used so at least they don't have to relive their most vulnerable moment and being so disgustingly violated. Not that it makes it any easier to process.

I’ve been spiked and it’s the scariest thing to happen. You wake up in the morning not knowing if someone’s taken advantage of you or if you got yourself hurt. Luckily my friends were there for me and got me home as soon as possible and I woke up the next day. Some people don’t wake up because they think they’re just too drunk. But if you feel a friend has been spiked, get them help immediately ❤️

Same thing happened to me on my 19th birthday. I was spiked with my first drink, I kept being tested for being “drunk” but no alcohol was in my system as it was literally one drink. I felt horrendous, I couldn’t feel people touching me, my eyes were apparently open but I couldn’t see anything. I couldn’t really hear people it was like noise at the end of a tunnel. Couldn’t stand or walk as feeling in my legs went luckily a friend called an Ambulance and they took care of me ❤️

I agree, on my 21st my best friend drunk too much, we went to toilets and she was in the cubicle next to me when I came out she was gone. The club we were in was packed I looked all around for her. I think my drink was spiked once. Luckily I was no where near as bad as this girl. I had only about 2 drinks and collapsed in the smoking area. I was on the floor on the phone to my boyfriend begging him to come and get me as something didn’t feel right. The bouncer had a go at me and told me to get up off the floor or he’s kicking me out. This resulted in my friend having to carry me out of the club. The bouncers were not interested in helping me in the slightest and I actually went back there a few weeks later and told them that I think my drink was spiked and I needed help but they just kicked me out instead. So well done to this bouncer, sadly they’re not all this nice.

I've had this happen with a house full of people & no one helped me. The ones I thought I could trust were the one's who took advantage of me. All I remember was waking up to one guy having sex with me. Didn't find out what really happened until a couple months later. I was also younger then and uneducated about date rape drugs and being a teen I didn't think of rape until after finding out all the facts. There was nothing I could do at that point. That situation & another has caused me deppression, anxiety, and a fear of trusting people. Here I am 7 yrs later and I have NOT drank alcohol or beer since my 21st because I am terrified of it happening again. WATCH YOUR DRINKS AND YOUR FRIENDS DRINKS TO. I'm glad she ended up being ok !! I had my drink spiked by a guy I knew and considered a friend ! I was with my best friend and she really looked out for me. She overheard the friend and his cousin plotting to take me home and quote "run a train" on me and she never let me out of her sight. They kept saying that they could take me home and she firmly told them No and took me with her just the way I came (I had parked my car at her house and rode with her). We tried to go to Waffle House and I was so incoherent she had to order for me. I managed to make it to the bathroom in Waffle House and after i didn't return after some time she found me passed out on the bathroom floor. She took me to her house and when I woke up my head was spinning. I was sick for the next 3 days. I am so thankful for her because too often girlfriends go out and leave each other. I also wish I had gone to the hospital but needless to say I stopped letting people buy my drink for me at the bar. If don't see it being made , I don't want it !

When I got drugged (well I am nearly certain I was) I was kicked out of the club and left on my own. I accepted a shot from a stranger but I thought it was okay because one of my guy friends had one bought for him too. The moment I drank the shot the room started spinning. Not like a usual drunk spinning, but my whole vision was rotating. It's had to explain so I'm not sure if that makes sense. The feeling was so much more intense than just being too drunk. I had such a massive head fog and immediately needed to throw up. I don't know how I made it to the bathroom, but when I did all I could do was clutch onto the toilet bowl and projectile vomit over and over. I have no idea how long I was there, but then I heard the bouncer knock on the toilet door. I couldn't even stand at that point so she grabbed me by my dress and pulled me to the outside of the club. Then she left. I could barely stand, couldn't see anything, and definitely couldn't contact anyone to come pick me up. My friends were in the club having absolutely no clue where I went. I have no idea what happened after that. My memory afterwards is completely blank, and even during the incident my memory is very fragmented. I don't even know how I got home. It is really scary because I don't know if anyone did anything to me while I was nearly passed out. If anything did happen, I sure as hell know the bouncers wouldn't have done a single thing to help. It was horrible.

They actually allowed him to get in the ambulance with me and he payed them off €1200 to let him go and the ambulance dropped him back off at the hostel with me!! So corrupt and messed up! I had my drink spiked at a my college spring formal. I had only had 1 drink and two shots and was feeling good, on the edge of tipsy. Then all the sudden I knew something was wrong, I got extremely disoriented and tripped before I made it to a chair. That’s the last I remember. Apparently as soon as I sat down I called my brother, he could not understand me but knew I had gone to the spring formal. He called campus security and got me help. They found me basically passed out in an alley between the building the dance was in and the science department building. The next day I was so thankful to my brother, he was 14 at the time, he could have just hung up thinking I accidentally called him or was pranking him. My mom was out on a date and did not get his call when he called her after I called him. So he just called my campus security, I was found about 15 mins after I called my bro. I don’t even want to think about what could have happened if I had not managed to call him.

I remember being spiked in a night club. Except I actually wasn’t drinking alcohol (as I don’t drink or smoke), I was drinking water and coke. I started having a panic attack, my friends started panicking as they didn’t know what was happening - but they ended up leaving me in the nightclub on my own. I began blacking in and out a lot and some how I’d end up in different locations after each blackout. I also had brief recollections of being grabbed and dragged in a car after clambering to a hotel crying to use their phone to call my mum. I then remember managing to walk to my uni library and begging the security guards to help me because I’d been drugged, they also didn’t want to help. I wrote a suicide letter and tried to kill myself with computer wires. I somehow made it home and tried to stab myself. But instead I collapsed and woke up 36 hours later. I woke up with bruises, fingerprints, hand prints and bruises from being grabbed that hard, all over my body. I think there was around 36 bruises in total ranging from my arms, ribs and thighs. I fell asleep for another 24 hours and for a week, not being able to remember anything during my blackouts, I became suicidal and a severe recluse. Even to this day, I do not know what had happened to me but if I had the courage, I’d have gone forward and asked to see the security cameras. But it was too embarrassing for me to bear. It’s true what they say, you never think it’s going to happen to you until it does.

I had my drink spiked when I was 21, I’m 35 now and it till terrifies me that hours of my life are gone, I will never know what I did in that time. I was at a bar I went to weekly with friends. I live in a small town, so this wasn’t a big place or big city. My boyfriend was meeting us at the bar after work so I said I wouldn’t drink much wanting to be good when he arrived. I had 2 drinks, I remember going to the restroom, snd then sitting at a booth, and throwing up luckily I grabbed a glass and did it in that. Then he brought me home, but I was basically out of it the whole ride. It took 2 people to carry me in and I was shivering like crazy but also sweating he said. I didn’t want on the bed, I wanted to sleep on the floor directly in front of a space heater bc I couldn’t stop shivering. I woke up feeling the worst I’d felt in a long long time, but I’d only had those 2 drinks. The scary part was, I remembered the bathroom and going to the booth, there were 4 hours between that I have no recollection of. I have been told I got aggressive with some people, extra flirty with men right in front of my bf, danced on people, stuff I normally wouldn’t do. Friends thought I was just really drunk at first. I am so thankful my bf didn’t get mad and leave bc who knows where I could’ve ended up. I’m so glad I was brought home snd he took care of me. I never found out who did it, but I never went back to that bar.

She's absolutely is lucky because I've been right in her shoes and unfortunately the bouncer who found me did the exact opposite. I don't think the bouncer who found her deserves a grand stand and I only say that because he did what people should do as normal people would. He is a real man and yes praise for helping save her life but it's a sad feat to say he's praised for not taking advantage. He's not for that because he's a good man! It was in his nature to do right and it says so much to say he should be praised for NOT doing evil things. No that's almost like saying he would, and obviously he wouldn't because he's human and normal! I'm sorry I hate that! Thank God for this man! Not for not attacking but for recognizing someone in a vulnerable, dangerous situation. Godspeed

Let me take back he doesn't deserve a grand stand my point is he did what was right as a human being and to say he's more is to say that men are less worthy of praise because we "should be worried of them all" it's a sad thing to say. Men are good too it's just sad the world we live where we praise men for doing what they should, and here this man is living his goodness with his morals and standards, let's remember many men live this way and not all men are out to get everyone. He's a hero for sure but he did what all men should. What all women should. Recognize danger and take action!

She was very lucky that the person who tried to drug her couldn’t get what he wanted.. it’s a terrifying and frustrating road.. but I’m just glad she didn’t have to go through the other parts of it... I am by no means saying that it isn’t scary or frustrating.. I am a victim as well.. so looking out for her.. she was able to take the better way out.. but the fact that the perpetrator will never be found is extremely heartbreaking

This only works if people help people. Staying silent in a corner and not saying anything is the worst thing you can do when you see someone is in dire need of help.

I went to a “friend’s” birthday party at her home. I’ve been to many of her parties and her friends ranged from all ages and backgrounds, many of them were off. I was 19yrs old. She poured me red wine and she was pressuring me into drinking. I didn’t want to, because I didn’t have anything to eat. She said, “Every time I’ve given you a drink, you never drank it all. Don’t be sneaky.” So I took barely a sip, left it on her kitchen counter. We went to her roof top and watched the ocean while everyone was smoking and drinking. About an hour later, I went into the house and took two sips and noticed a bug in the drink so I dumped it out. 30 minutes later, my speech was slurring, my vision blurry, and I was being brutally honest. I felt like something was wrong and I wanted to go home immediately. My friend tried stopping me from leaving, but she got distracted. I couldn’t walk straight and I slipped down the stairs. I couldn’t function or think straight. I called a Uber and the Uber driver told me that I had too much to drink. I told him what happened and he told me someone more likely spiked my drink and he’ll get me home safely. I knew ABSOLUTELY I was drugged. Definitely because her next party, her friend openly admitted to me that she spiked the cake at the birthday party and didn’t tell anyone.

i got spiked on a night out shortly after my 18th birthday, and instead of doing the right thing like this bouncer did, they left me on the side of the road at 3am, by myself, in a puddle of my own vomit, safe to say i haven't been back to that club

Keep your drink with you at all times and never sit it down. If you have to put it down for any reason, give it to your trusted friend to hold. Happy Birthday tho I'm glad you made it through❤🙏🏽👐🏽

I've had my drink spiked twice, the first time it happened I went straight from that bar and met up with my then boyfriend so thankfully nothing happened other than me being completely out of it and people just thought I was very drunk. The second time it happened I wasn't as lucky.

My gf and I were out at a bar in 1998 and a guy kept asking us to play pool and we were trying to be nice but we were not interested. Last call came and I was slightly buzzed and my gf was sober. The guy gave us a fruity drink and being nice we accepted it and we shared it. Literally 15 min or less and we were on our hands and knees trying to get to our car. We made it to the car and at the time we had no way of making sense of what was happening and what was causing such dire effects. We struggled to stay conscious. Somehow, and I mean somehow weI drove 5 blocks to my gf’s sister’s flat and we somehow made it up 3 flights to her place I think we slept for 12 hours. Our memory was hazy and still is. I can only remember flasbsckst of pieces of the night . I have no memory of driving other than how difficult it was to put the keys in the ignition. This was back in 1998 so there was no ride sharing and no taxis in the area. We knew something was wrong. I know we both needed to get to the car because we knew something was wrong. We just didn’t put it all together until the next days when we were able to discuss it. We never went back to that tavern and I will not ever take a drink from a stranger. So many things were in our favor that night snd by God’s sheer grace we weren’t killed nor killed someone in some traffic accident. It’s been a long time ago but I’ve never forgotten how dramatically impaired this made us, how fast it came over us, and it scared ms me to think what could have happened if we didn’t have one another to pull ourselves thru this. I do think if we didn’t share that drink and if I recall we didn’t even finish it because it wasn’t something we favored. But had one of us consumed that entire drink, we’d had been fully unconscious and anyone could have done what they pleased to us. To this day when I think about that night it still scares me deeply. No free drink is worth what done predator could take from you. Have simple and safe rules and follow th - if someone wants to buy you a drink, you can accept a kindness, but only if you order it, and watch the bartender make it and hand it directly to you. Or, order a pre-bottled drink and have the bar tender open it in front of you. One last easy rule is to not allow your drink to be unattended. If you are playing darts or dancing or using the facilities, either take your drink with you or have a trusted friend keep eyes on it. If you don’t have someone who can watch it, if you can finish it, just drink it. If no, you can always ask the bar tender to hold it behind the bar for you and be sure to appreciate them with a bit of a tip. Please just be safe and don’t take unnecessary risks.

I think I may have been spiked around 3 years ago. My last memories were in a bar with 3 guys me and my friend didn't know and they'd bought us drinks. My friend ended up going off with one of them and that's the last thing I remember, other than a few horrible flashbacks of a guy on top of me. My friend said I seemed fine when she left me - not too drunk so I don't think it was just too much alcohol. I managed to get out of his flat and home, and slept for about 15 hours. When I woke up I was covered in bruises that looked like hand grabbing marks all over my arms and my phone was completely smashed up. I never went to hospital or the police or even told a single person about it as I felt a lot of shame.
