I once made a skeletal lizard _healer_ character. They literally existed JUST to be my discount shovel & lockpick, nothing else. I made them a healer, intentionally, as a joke, since skeletons take damage from healing but heals from poison. iirc, if have a barrel of poison, on hand or on the ship, you can drink from it via empty vials.
