When we lived in Brisbane any time we would need to get something done it was a big muck around to get a GP appointment for a referral, mucked around for days or weeks trying to get into a specialist and they wouldn't even let you see or keep your results. In Thailand we just walk into a doctor or clinic and we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, all doctors are western trained and very professional, test results are sent through via email for future reference and the expense has never been more than a $200AUD. Chalk and cheese comparison, I could no longer deal with the Australian mess after the great service and value for money I've received in Thailand.

There are a lot horror story fron Indonesia patient experiece in public and private hospitals in their country. After spending a lot of money and time, their’s ailments were not cured. Desperate they come to Malaysia. They are cured less than a week at a cheaper price. There are a lot of imcompetence and corruption in Indonesia that they give wrong diagnostics. In Malaysia the GPs act as a dispensary, you can get the medications in the GP. You don't have to go to a separate pharmacy. When I'm sick I already feel like shit and want to go home ASAP after visiting the GP. I don't want to have to go to a separate pharmacy to get the medications like in Australia.

We are loosing our healthcare by the day, doctors don't bulk bill so you need cash up front, my Mum has just been told her iron transfusion she has to have every 4-6 month's isn't covered anymore and is now costing her $300 each time, the prostate test has been taken of the PBS and you are now required to pay, there are several cases like that where essential test's have been taken of the PBS. It can take weeks to get a doctor's appointment, if you have an emergency you are kept in an ambulance outside the hospital for hours before receiving treatment and the possiblity of a bed. The whole situation is a shambles.👍✌️

Australia is OVER RATED by people living in Australia themselves. Can't say anything bad about the country otherwise they will take it personally and get offended this is mostly by more well off people in Australia who have either grown up there or arrived decades ago before the current harder times, which I would say is the majority. Since most people are very well off in Australia generally earning good incomes due to having a good education and training or came through the immigration system as legal migrants that only allows skilled professional workers with qualifications and experience to permanently live in Australia who get good jobs in Australia and can cope with the rising cost of living compared to most western countries. They don't see anything wrong with Australia. But there is a lot wrong with Australia. Its far from perfect and they put down Asian countries next door. They still see Asia from the lens of 40 years ago. Asia has moved on a lot from those times.

True. Australia is 0.0037% of the World’s population. No way we can say the other 99.9963% is bad. Even the cost in Australia is rising rapidly comparing to developed nations in Europe. We bought medication cash without any Medicare etc cheaper than what it cost in Australia! Seeing a specialist paying cash was cheaper than Australia and that’s after the tiny Medicare rebate!?! My eyes have been truly opened up since traveling and we as a nation need to acknowledge there are fantastic health systems elsewhere too.

Health care is never on my mind. Whether I'm in Asia or Australia. The Australian system is actually pretty crap for what we have to pay through the nose for. Good doctors and hospitals in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore etc. also cheaper. I would rather pay up front than use the system in Australia.. If you worry about health care then look at your own health first and make changes. Most sickness is preventable as lifestyle is the problem. Drinking, smoking and being fat. Injuries are something different

Yeah I get all the comments about the doctors from Thailand, but majority of them normally are trained in the west. I see a endocrinologist every 3 months, he charges around $150 AUD, before the Medicare rebate and it’s 3 month wait to see him, he doesn’t seem to go to the route core of my problem, but pull out his script pad. I also should be on TRT. The boy stood on some coral when he was fishing last week, I went to two doctors and was told there were no appointments, 3 hour wait at A&E. When we went back in April to Thailand the boy went to the dentist for a scale and clean and it was free as a Thai citizen.
