Jack, great content as always..always admire your attitude even when things are going off the rails a bit..great reminder for myself in my own game!

Thanks appreciate the continued support 😊. Haha yep messed up on the most important shots on this occasion - cashed in my luck with the rebound off the back of the water hazard 😆. When your attitude drops though can become a long day so that’s why I try keep myself upbeat

Great to see you playing my old home course. I can remember in the early days hitting 121 on my first visit. By 2021 i was scoring in the mid 80's . Don't give up on it, you have probably seen it at its worst, try it in the summer. Before covid if you played mid week you'd have the course to yourself.

Great stuff 👏. Actually loved the greens felt really good - just had a stinker 😂 we were rushing to get to the chiefs game (semi final). Certainly keen to get back there on a dry day - may even see you out there 😂

Thanks 😊. Similar to me, such a good game. Nice man, keep at it and I’m sure you will keep trending in the right direction 👍

I share your frustration about flushing second shots!! I now tell myself over the ball "pretend this is your second shot" - such a maddening game🎉🎉
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Haha have you found that works any better for you? it’s always nice to pipe the 2nd one mind to know what could have been, also but of extra practice - the mental aspect of accepting and moving on is huge for sure

Love seeing another high handicapper youtuber! Just subscribed :) BTW a putt from the fringe is a chip. When I found that out my putting numbers got better but my GIR numbers got worse ;)

Welcome to the channel Chris 😊 we have a high handicap masters style video coming out soon so stay tuned for that 👍. Haha yeh I found that out too. Hope your golf is going well

Love this course always real friendly, always tee time free and the layout is a dream l. Shame it was wet please go back once its dry as long as you can git straight this course is open to going low!
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Yep really enjoyed it even in the wet - the water holes were set up real nice and the greens were honestly in great shape even with the rain we have had. The roll out in dry would have been much appreciated with my driver currently misbehaving 😂 thanks for watching

Great video! Have you tried a strong arm grip with your driver? I had problems slicing but I swapped to a strong arm and it fixed it.
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍 - regarding Driver my range has been closed for ages so been unable to get practice in - my normal problems before my lesson were big hooks and low launch. Will have a look to see if strong arm helps though 👍

You ever try hitting a hybrid instead of a 5iron? I love the challenges you set up for yourself .
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, yep I used to do 3 hybrid for tee shots which did gain few extra yards but now I’ve been struggling with it, 5 iron has a good miss to it, but without the roll out I do lose distance 😂. Thanks, have found it’s a good way to focus on certain aspects and not be as bummed by a bad score 😆
@DadLeisureSkateboarding Жыл бұрын
Well played, love the idea of these challenges as a way to improve your game. Your iron striking is very good though considering the scores you end up with! My goal this year has been to break 100, which I did this week... my local course has loads of water hazards and thick bushes so my next challenge is to play the same ball for 18 holes 😂 no 3 putts is a big one though!
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
I find it works well to help focus on improvement areas rather than just worrying about score also with the terrible weather here at the moment scores become harder 😂. Awesome on breaking 100 - one tip I would say is don’t worry about going over 100 again (happens to all us high handicappers I hit my PB 85 and followed it with a 109 😂). Yep putting is so key normally a strong point for me but not on this day. Best of luck on not losing that ball, let me know how you get on 👍

If you want to beat +11 then play the par 4s as 5, par 3s as 4 and par 5s as 7. It gives you so much confidence when you can say you got 7 but it was a par instead of a double bogey. Then when you get better you keep knocking 1 shot off on ghe easiest holes.
@markwatson930 Жыл бұрын
Then imagine when you do get a net birdie or par how easy it is for your score to keep dropping
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Solid advice Mark, I pretty much play for bogey most holes and normally can sneak a few pars but then you get the odd day like this one and really got punished on the greens (greens not to blame on this occasion) 😂 thanks for watching

Cool video! Nice to see someone not in the PGA play as well, doing same mistakes as me. I am by no means any good, and I dom't want to give out unwanted tips, but it looks like your feet often point right of target which may be causing the push slice (might also be the camera angle)
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Thanks 😊, yep all the highs and lows of us common golfers are found here. No tips are unwanted 👍 yep totally agree - I have some alignment sticks now which I am hoping will help aid this correction. Thanks for watching

Instead of using wedge just of the green try hitting a 9 iron with a putting motion. Helped my game massively
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
I meant to putt on the fringe after messing up my 52 but made the wrong decision trying to make up for the other bad shot 😂 definitely practicing bump and run but when it’s so wet I just want to avoid trying bounce through it

Conditiobns were not ideal - I don't have a five iron and am like you a high handicapper ! Keep going ! better days are ahead !
@JackPlaysGolf Жыл бұрын
Haha yep getting slammed with rain at the moment. My five iron has been so good to me in comparison to my driver obviously not as far but I’m in play more often than not. Yep better days to come for sure but still great outing 👌
