It should NEVER hurt! You shouldn't even feel it at all. If you can feel it when you stand up, it's not in deep enough. If it's painful inserting then it might be too big for your flow. There are light absorbency ones you can start with that are thinner and smaller for those light flow days. If you're scared, you could have someone older who you trust and feel comfortable with do it for you and show you. I was 10 when i started my period! I had my older cousin who I was close to help me, I laid down and grabbed a mirror and she inserted it on me to show me how 😅 this was before youtube existed lmao
