As multiple people have already noted, both in this and your previous horse video you are ignoring damage that can be done by the horse itself when ramming at full gallop (sprint). That is where a horse's Strength comes into play. At full gallop a horse with some points in strength can one-hit kill low level mobs and will knockdown or stagger higher ones while doing a lot of damage. If you combine that charge damage with a well-timed spear thrust released to coincide with the horse's impact, it can do tremendous damage in one strike. Lances can also be lowered and can hit hard, but have a chance of shattering on impact and are useless when not charging, so I find spears to be the better mounted weapon overall.

40 Agility horse will reduce incoming damage by ~75%, while a 40 Vitality horse will increase it's HP by ~100%. Vitality's 100% bonus is larger, but Agility's 75% bonus affects the performance of HP as well as regeneration. Nowadays I prefer Agility; it reduces falling damage, endurance damage when meleeing, and the amount of food needed to fully heal. Getting 40 in a stat is easy, but 50 is hard; remember that pets get two stat points per level guaranteed if their FOOD-MODIFIED growth percent is 100 or higher! I do wonder if horse STR applies to lance damage, since lances calculate damage differently from other weapons.

Of course vitality is the best but strength is coming shortly after. The damage when you run over players does matter a lot. If you time it correctly, you can run somebody over and then hit them with your mordlun while they are still falling down and if your horses strength is high enough, you can kill heavy armor with this combo.

Thanks for the video, wish u were a little more chilled df out. Devs said strength and accuracy would affect the rider in one of their first streams were they were showing off new treb range, horses, and the new roll for all armors. That's where the misinformation came from, no doubt. Some of us don't have the time to test everything (let alone watch ur entire video) and we trusted the dev stream on it I wish u would've tested how the horse's accuracy stats affected ur damage output like u did wit ur melee weapon. True, strength doesn’t effect your damage the way you are attacking Firespark. However, If you both heavy attack with spear and hit the target with the horse, overall dmg of a strafing pass can be noticeably increased with a high strength horse. Personally I would not feed a horse for strength over accuracy, but I’m not unhappy when a perk boosts strength. I boost accuracy for the dmg boost rather than the spread. I don’t worry about vitality because I rarely take dmg on horseback. While I do shoot distant targets from a stationary horse, I also spend a lot of time shooting backward at pursuing bosses (it’s more fun). With practice you can take out a 3 skull boss while riding in a circle just shooting backwards. PVE there is hardly anything in the game that can hit a horse or rider if you are always turning. You can make large circles or small around an enemy (or ten at a time), but I would always fight in circles (jousting is easier but slow).

My horse has 24 strength 38 vit, lv 20, and I find the horses trample with a legendary polearm like a trident, perfectly timed jab 1 bangs most players at lv 60 with godbreaker on, due to the enhanced horse damage and trample damage

You used a spear to prove strength is meaningless. Maybe you should have used a Lance, which is the weapon specifically used for horseback melee. Also... What about running people over? If it doesn't matter, you have to be comprehensive.

Running people over does regular pet damage, which is normally double my own damage. Ramming also adds a knock-down effect against humanoids!

Health is key af. I have one thrall that was a dalinsia with God roll in vit, was 18k pre nerf, and is now 16k post nerf. She also has 45 str rn, but added with a strength build armor it's at 58. As far as my horse, I'm a mountain dweller, so scout saddle all the way. Plus horse drifting is fricken great. My best one has close to 7k health 3 str and a bunch in the other bs.

Because horses don't fight, everything except health and agility has been rendered meaningless now. Unless you're fighting world bosses or whole encampments at once, horses rarely need more than, say 4k or 5k health. I've found that much of the damage hits my character directly. My view on horses is that they're great for open areas and fighting beasts, but not so great for fighting maneuverable, small opponents, like humans. I do wish they could defend themselves when set to guard, though. It makes me hesitant to ride somewhere, if I don't think there will be a safe place to park them.

Nope, just the saddle type. Maneuver saddle gives best control, but I prefer the speed saddle for riding around the map and the heavy saddles for combat.

I think that is only true for Human Thralls as far as I know, all foods heal for 5hp/sec but it should still be the old table for horses/pets, specific foods heal for more.

The rare food used to give higher regen, with the more common foods giving a broad spectrum. But nowadays all food gives 5.

Yes you are right everything only heals for 5 on my dedicated however in single player all food works just like it use to on everything.

Asures glory imo, is the best food to level up a horse with. I've tried all the foods with different ones and also the other animals. It seems they really benefit from the foods that give chance to more then one stat at a time. Current horse is a tank both hit and hp with high surival for resistance. 400dmg on hit and 6800 hp

"Health is king", makes me feel good about my Beastmaster Teimos. He has around 15.5k health. His first perk with was +3 survival, but then he got +15 Vit at level 15 and -5 Acc/+8 Vit at level 20. His strength is low, but I might try him with a bow as even the -5 Acc leaves him with 63 Acc.

Run over someone, no hit with your weapon, just pass over and see the difference in damage with more strength, that's the combo hit with the horse and with weapon. A think you will do this time. XD

all these health is king thing are pretty much about regen... and regen is more effective when combined with good armor as the damage/healing ratio gets better so no health is not the king... armor and health regen is the king and queen... so agility is expecially good for horses as they cant wear armor like thralls can... expecially expecially good as they seem to get much bigger amounth of armor from agility

They don't do that any more. They removed them attacking a while back. Now they just run away. The attack and damage they do is when you are riding them and hit someone.

the game had some issues at start up but if I force close it and restarted it, it worked fine for me. if that still doesn't work, try a file check and fix in steam under proprieties

Demonic spiders get the most hp of a obtainable thrall and will die to most tralls

Corrupted Spiders were one of the few pets that avoided the agility/vitality pet-nerf! But they are still only half as good as thralls, even without the pet-nerf. Last time I checked, these pets were not nerfed: bug queen, greater hyena, frost giant, croc, corrupted spider, greater bear, boar/Greater Boar, Turan rhino, horses, legionnaire skeleton, queen scorpion.

BTW you haven't tested if more acc does more dmg than none. Which it should...since it is listed as acc dmg bonus in the stats of the horse...I mean it is funcom...they make fun of us and might add it to a unit without range attacks for no reason 😂 Still you missed to show/test it

@@MadPirateShin Tested this recently and horse strength has no bearing on lance damage. Lance damage is tied to the speed of the horse. But check back next week because you never know, Funcom constantly changes so much with game lol.
