As a german who has tried for MANY years to learn french i think it's so cool of you to just go and speak with natives. It's really the best you can do to learn but I have always made the experience that french people don't like to practice with you. People told me to shut up or speak english instead because my french was too slow 💀

Ortie is nettle! You can make tea from it (that you love) and also use it like spinach in cooking. The sting goes away when cooked.

Ortie is nettle!! Hannah go harvest the leaves and boil them into tea and eat the leaves once the sting is boiled out (5-10 minutes of cooking). They are SO GOOD and very good for you :) You could add mint to make the tea tastier and you could make the leaves into pesto or sauté them with garlic. Very similar to boiled spinach but better texture.

In Portugal we also have those signs on trees, stones and walls to indicate if we're going the right way or not. I thought every country had them in "rural" areas where people go on walks in the "wild". ^^

The signs are not only found in France! You can find them in Belgium, Holland and Germany too! I think you can find them all over Europe actually. You should definitely do a walking trail with them when you are there
