I am quite disappointed in that response too! They should’ve checked inventory and corrected the problem by sending you what was advertised on the back. It seem like customer service is no longer a priority for many companies. I have always had good responses but it has been a while. I use the happy planner because I can use coupons and I get an extra discount at Michael’s and Joann’s. I would love to use a different type of planner such as archer and Olive but they’re out of my price range based on my income. My favorite thing to do is make my own planner, and I believe that’s how I will proceed in the future. Again, what a disappointment. They know better so they should do better. I haven't been finding ANYTHING Happy Planner at Michaels anymore. Very disappointing. However, that being said, I've been very disappointed with Happy Planner choices lately. Very discouraging.

I agree. Someone mentioned having the employee open the planner before buying it to make sure you’re getting what is on the packaging. I try to get a sneak peek because THP quality has gone downhill. So sorry this happened to you and even more disappointed in THP’s response.

Happy planner has not been the same since ownership changed. If this was 2018 HP it would have been a different outcome. So sad when companies get sold and alienate their core customers that brought so much value in the first place. There are a lot of good planner options out there…I hope you find the right one for you.

I have been using a planner for years, but was looking for a way to utilize my planner more effectively. Thank you for sharing your experience. I would have been furious with their response. The nerve they would ask you to return it to the place of purchase. I agree the response was late and canned at that! However, I would reach out to Leadership with my concern. I would not purchase any more Happy Planner products.

I live in Australia, so I cannot purchase my happy planner from a shop, I purchase it from the Happy planer web site where I watch a slide show of the different planners…. But realise you can’t do that in the shops, so I think it’s the Happy planners responsibility to put a correct image on the back ( how hard would it be) I do love my happy planner and there isn’t anything like it here in Australia 🌸

I had an issue with a Happy Panner purchase from Michael's. Luckily Michael's was able to handle the issue and accommodate me. Their customer service was top-notch. I agree with you. They should have offered some kind of compensation or solution. It didn't appear to be a difficult fix. Sorry this is how they left things.

After I saw your original video with this planner, I was in the clearance section of Joann's and found a planner with the same issue. I don't remember which planner it was, but the inside did not match the picture on the back. I did not purchase it. I don't even know why I was looking at them since I have decided to make my own planners going forward, probably half letter to save paper. I may still occasionally purchase sticker books in the future although I have been leaning toward small sticker shops and Etsy, but I doubt that I will be purchasing any planners. I have joined your CRAFTLAB Tech and maybe I will get my finances under control and join one of your Patreon groups. 😏Glad to know how they treat their customers. Thanks for the update.

Yeah, they need to change this. They have been using that back picture for a while now. I even bought a planner and I thought it was like that on the inside like OG, glam girl, and it wasn’t. I think they need to listen to their audience because a lot of people like that layout that is pictured on the back. However, they keep sneakily throw it in this layout when you get home it’s not the one that you see on the back. what is the point of having a picture on the back if it’s not the same in the inside.

I totally agree with you! The picture should not be on the back of that planner. Also, I want the layout in the picture, not the one in the actual planner. When I first got into Happy Planner in 2017, I think, customer service was sooooo different. I called HP customer service, not really knowing what I was doing, and told them about a defect in one of their planners I ordered off Amazon. They were so gracious, and just sent me a new planner out. No questions, I didn't have to send the damaged one in. They were so kind and helpful! It isn't the same anymore. This year, I purchased two 2024 planners and thankfully I went thru them page by page because when you got near the middle of the planner, all the pages were bent up by the disc area. ugh. I still do use HP some, but quality, and service is down!

I only use hp for work and had a difficult time finding a lined vertical in classic this past year. Of course they have so many releases you never know when to buy . They have definitely changed for the worst. I have done two returns with them. One planner I ordered from Joanne’s and the discs came broken. I sent a pic as requested and they replaced the discs. My Classic punch broke and I sent a pic and they replaced it. Sorry you had to go through that.

I bought two of the exact planner from Michael's. I always look at the planner reveals before purchasing so I was fully aware of what I was buying. I don't like the dark area on the weekly pages either but liked other planners even less. I also purchased late in the season. About 5 years ago, I purchased a Happy Planner from Michaels, got home to discover that a lot of the planner was missing. I returned it to Michael's and they were gracious with my return. I am surprised that Michael's didn't handle this for you. I also found out that customer's remove pages from the new Planners and the store is left with the remaining planner minus some of the insides. I have watched the packaging change as they try to combat this issue. I love The Happy Planner! It works for me! But, I have been disappointed in the designs lately. I love animals but I do not want 12 months of leopards! (: I'm looking forward to the next batch of 18 mos. planners!

Hmmm, so that's what happened to HP --ownership changed. I didn't know that. I wondered why they had really changed. I started using their planners in 2016, I loved them. When I watched the planner releases for 2023 I had a very hard time finding a planner I liked, finally "settled" on one. When I began looking at the releases for 2024 I couldn't find a single one I liked. I was very disappointed. I went to the Kell of A Plan website and found one I really liked. Also HP seems to have gone berserk with Disney--I'm not a child and have no interest in using that in my planner for work.

I've purchased lined vertical several times in the past and it looked exactly like this one did inside. That layout pictured on the back I've never seen before. It's almost like they started to change the layout but this one had the original still inside.

I've become very disenchanted with Happy Planner. I can no longer find a Happy Planner that fits what I'm looking for. For instance, I don't like a classic size planner for fitness; I prefer the mini, which they don't seem to have any more. Also, the choices for a horizontal mini included one....which is a "mom" based theme. I do not have children and could not have children, so it's triggering to me. (This may seem silly to some people, as I did notice that there are only a few dividers referencing motherhood, but I can't help it.). Even their classic size vertical planners are limited, but I found one I could work with. Their stickers aren't as functional to me as they once were. I'm buying stickers from Etsy shops. They are more to my liking and since I only choose stickers I know I'll use, it's more cost effective in the long run, as there are no stickers left behind....LOL. I am disappointed to hear that their customer service is going the way of (too) many other companies, though. I had an issue about 2 or 3 years back & their customer service was on top of it and it was during the holiday season, which makes hearing this doubly(?) discouraging to say the least.

Yeah it’s a shame when a company gets so big they forget how they got there. The planner community is where their business lies. If I were them I would have been sending you a box full of planners just like they used to send their squad or like they send their current ambassadors. I have a ton of HP sticker books from when I first fell down the rabbit hole but I had to stop. Every time you turn around there is a new release and it’s like buying an album when you only like one song (I love the quotes and the florals but don’t use much else in the book)With awesome printables like the ones you create, a punch, and discs you can get from so many other places, I just don’t see the need to buy their planners anymore, even more so after their lackluster response 😒. I know you said you're over it at this point BUT I really think you should post it and tag them on Twitter. They sent a generic response and didn't bother really looking into it and they need to know so they can fix it or at least see how they handle it after being tagged on social media. I love The Happy Planner but that's not good! Rachelle, IMO HP has fallen off tremendously‼️ I believe that it is because of the Corporate folks • they’re products are not adequate anymore❗️I buy the neutral planners now. There really weren’t a lot to choose from. Even with the sticker books. Blah 😕

Nothing is switched on this packaging, it’s “False Advertising “ of what is inside. Plan and simple. I think if you are able to look at a thumbnail on the Happy Planner site it will show what you have. Very misleading!

Very disappointing! Yours could not have been the only Tiny Florals planner with this mix up. HP should recognize the frustration anyone would have when they get their product home and begin the process of using it. It’s a hassle to go back to a store and deal with a return even in the smoothest of returns. It looks like your only option is to take it back to the store, get a store credit or another planner. Most retail stores give at least 30 days past Christmas for returns. Personally, if choosing another planner I’d open it before buying. Again, most retail stores wouldn’t have a problem with that given your past experience. Good luck!

You need to look at those thumbnails again. It shows the pages that are inside having the grey box. That outside is not for that planner. You can Always look inside at the pages. I have seen that the “packaging” has been changed on the outside for whatever reason. I feel like that gave you the appropriate ways of getting what you want. Maybe try another Michaels.

The packaging displayed in their thumbnail shows the exact same packaging from the store. It was not switched. This is why I checked the website in the first place. The packaging is different from what is inside the planner. I have a valid complaint. They don't even make a planner like what is shown on the packaging anymore, so there is no point running around to other stores.

@@scrapcraftasticno it doesn’t. If the pictures provided on the website you can see the top is greyed out. Not really a valid point. When you see a food commercial it shows a product- but it never looks like that when you order it. Also, you could have easily opened it up and looked inside. Don’t blame the company for something that you could have easily double checked before purchase.

They are getting too big for their britches and this is exactly why people have stopped buying their recycled designs and started supporting smaller shops. You may continue to support, but as for me and my house, I’ll continue to use my Patreon perks that are much better. Have a good night! 💤
