WHAT I BRING WITH ME CAMPING IN THE SUZUKI JIMNY JB74

I wanted to do a camping "haul" for you guys where I show what I bring with me camping on a regular basis. This week I will be heading to Fraser Island (K'gari) in Queensland, Australia, and I will be bringing with me most of what you see in this video. Obviously, some of this stuff will be left at home depending on what I find most necessary, however I wanted to show you guys everything that I would normally bring if space allows for it.

I'm so excited to get my first Jimny but I'm absolutely hung up on the 30kg roof load limit 😭 I swear looking at videos no one seems to abide by the limit. I love the roof rack you have and think I finally found it online, but the weight says 23kg. With this, plus awnings, plus the 30kg tent I really want (not a rooftop tent Oztent's RV-3 + side/front panels, but it packs down skinny and long, too long to put inside the Jimny and needs to be put on the roof), I'm worried the extra weight will be an issue. Every Jimny instagram account all have roofracks, awnings, and they throw their swags on the roofrack or rooftop tent. I know it's not recommended, but can you get away with it if you're keeping things close to the roof height wise and not going too much over? 😆 my tent I want rolls up super thin, way smaller than a swag, but this + the roof rack pushes it over 30kg 😭 Any advice would be amazing. I plan to get a GVM upgrade, but I know this only increases total weight limit, not the roof 😩 so keen on this roofrack and the tent I want but new to this and not sure what you can get away with 😅

Hey! Anywhere between 30-40kg on a daily should be fine. I would however not advise to put any roof top tents on these cars as that will immediately void warranty as it compromises your centre of gravity when it comes to breaking capacity, breaking lenght etc. My roof rack is 18kg + the accessories I am on a daily around 30kg. When I go offroad - yes - it does get more but that's not something I drive around with very often :)

How are you finding the Weisshorn double swag? Looks like it packs pretty small for what it is! Do you keep the bedding in the swag when packed?

Hey! It’s been really good for our use and we’ve also used it in torrential rain and didn’t get wet at all. I find it super easy to set up and the mattress is comfortable + it’s quite small yes! Easy to roll up because the bag is so spacious, so we sometimes roll it up with the sleeping bag as well 🤙🏽

Are you going to a camp place with toilets etc. Doesn't look like you you are going camping in the bush ...

You would normally bring a porta potti with you which we bought today (hence why it wasn’t in the video) but Fraser Island has a lot of small towns where there are public toilets 👌🏽 I’d recommend everyone to bring a portable toilet though! Good pick up :)
