The pre-flood fortress is one of the most "fantastical" I've ever seen. It looks like something out of dinotopia.

The moment I saw the bridges, I knew this was going to be a good Fort.
@theredsoldier269 ай бұрын
Probably a bit late to come with suggestions, but you could totally keep the older bridges between the layers that were submerged, but enclose them in glass, so that your dwarves could still walk from side to side, and look around inside the "fishbowl"

Booted up DF just to make my own version of this fortress

I am obsessed with waterfall forts. Usually I attempt to make a dining hall or similar under the waterfall that's full of mist. I lose a lot of dwarves. The fishbowl idea is absolute genius!

I really love this sort of concept. Some sort of fort, city, or some other settlement that sprawls across both sides of a ravine.

This is a concept that I've wanted to do in some game since long before I even knew what dwarf fortress was, and you knocked it out of the water!

A fortress like this doesn't seem quite feature complete without a ravine spanning walkway of courage (filled with stonefall traps) to welcome visitors and invaders. I'm tempted to give it a try, I think I've seen similar ravines in most of the worlds I've generated.

Nice one cozy fort! Always have this fortress idea, but without "fishbowl" part. My dream fortress is Fortress from HoMM5. Maybe some day, maybe

really cool fortress!!!! i always struggle to build small but interesting forts - im too lazy to build and place expensive furniture so my go to for guildhalls, nobility rooms etc is to make them huge - so its really cool to see what you could do with a small amount of space on either side. also is there a reason you use ramps rather than a single stairwell?

No idea if this works. But if you can’t fill the ravine with fish, how about zombies? The bodies are already down there so just get a necromancer for a truly traumatizing fishbowl.
