I sort of knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity☺ It lived up to the hype....I would say it reminded me of being on a multi-day vacation with an itinerary, only sub vacation for wedding😂 And yes, I still don't yet know how to navigate how I eat with travel. It kind of makes me sad sometimes. I just never want to be a pain and I do want to try everything. Much easier as a normal vegan..but mmm...yah, I think another vlog for another time about that. Still, I loved seeing all the foods at the wedding. I took notes! Translated them at home, so I'm hoping to make a few of the recipes at home :))

Your footage is amazing! On a scale of "over the top wedding extravaganza awesomeness", Indian weddings are 10/10. Whenever I see footage of them, the festive and colorful nature of the activities speak to my heart. As for food while traveling, I'm in the same boat. The frequency of running into that has actually curbed my travel bug quite a bit. But avoiding days long, painful swelling made the reduced travel worth it.

Awwwww thank you❤ I started to just use my phone because I could get so much more footage that way without digging out any equipment. Hehe, I absolutely understood I was going there for the experience and it was so nice of them to have additional options. Glad to at least get this one out. I have soooooooo much footage from India, so I'm going to have to edit a bit quicker!

honestly you need a local friend/guide. who speaks English and the local language. India is the land of food and vegan/vegetarian/healthy food is easily available if you know where to look and/or whom to ask. as a foreigner i understand it can be overwhelming especially if its your first time. but as an indian who is vegetarian myself I know the food and there is so much variety available with healthy food.

Beautiful! 13:30 Are those Terra cotta cups, for drinking? It’s a difficult balance, trying to get the food you want/need, without troubling the hosts too much. You seemed to navigate it well!

I know India has its issues and it’s not so easy for vegans to find eating establishments, but I really loved India when I was there. I did stay in Chennai, which is 95% vegetarian and for breakfast at the hotel, I basically had tasty salads.

Absolutely. No no - I think I just eat a lot differently from how the rest of the world (at least that's how it feels😜) eats. I think if you're vegan in India, there will definitely be enough stuff here and there. I think it's probably the use of ghee that can sometimes be hard to get around for plant-based eaters. -- But I had the best opinion of Indian people in Jaipur. I met such communal folk and they're so so intelligent and don't treat you like idiot tourists.

@@EastMeetsKitchen I’ve been trying to get family members to use less ghee. I personally only use vegan butter if necessary. Ghee is literally in everything in India. We always complain about that

Hey can i make a video request? Can u try to make a better textured bread using the recipe of 5 eggs ,2 cups corn starch, salt and baking powder. I used this recipe yesterday to make a Brazilian sponge cake called pão de ló but instead of salt i used sugar and when i tell u the texture is exactly bread-like I am begging you to use this recipe and show us how it turned out.❤ Also u bake it for 35 to 40 min at 180°c.

Unfortunately, India is one of the top counties that have the worse air pollution. Not sure why the other countries don’t call them on it!

I talked a little bit about that in my vlog during my time touring India. Obviously India is growing, it has a govt that has been lax on pollution standards, among other nationalist issues, (and of course you have the country's colonialist, British extortionist past which continues to have an impact), but other countries needing India to produce what they do - at the speed, at the cost they want has put a lot of pressure on India. Phones, electronics, clothing...steel...all of these factories have had a cost on India's environment and human welfare. It was quite hard to see and travel through and for me as an individual, it makes me think about my purchasing choices and consumption habits. I don't know. It was a little bit like going to the past, but I worry it's a little futuristic as well.

Well we are profiting from India polluting their land and can be selfrightous about our air quality. India takes the dirt and gets money. It's a win-win where only the enviorment and normal indians lose.

@@EastMeetsKitchen Air pollution is worst in the winter in India (pollution from heating) plus cold air sticks around and doesn't move as much as warm air.
