Hi Amber, thanks for the video. I'm glad to see someone is being forthcoming about what they can't eat. I have crohns and an an Ileostomy. I can't eat most things:-( I live on rice, carrots and fish. I have not had soda for years, any seeds, nut, popcorn, caffeine, chocolate and all vegetable except carotts and puree butternut squash. I hav3n't had any blockages since my Ileostomy sufgery in 2015. It was suggested to me to eat babyfood vegetables because of less fiber. Its easier for the body to absorb. Keep the food experiences coming.

I have both as well and I've eaten everything on your don't list right after surgery. My surgeon told me to eat fiber and said that I didn't have any restrictions. So far so good.

I love seeds! I always would grab the rolls that were covered with poppy or sesame seeds - not to mention liking pepitas and other seeds and nuts. I'm not a big meat eater. Good to hear fish is okay: I've been hearing it creates worse smell for output? I have a colostomy so I'm "lucky" I guess and also it can be reversed but I have insurance and residence issues - I should be working on all that now, oops! - I have eaten seeds and roughage too, tho I "wilt" lettuce in soup or other hot dishes. I did have a sort of blockage or some very painful episode about two months ago, where I was puking and screaming or moaning for about 6 hours till I finally fell asleep. But when I woke up it was all better; I think it was just Serious gas. I Had eaten a lot of lettuce. It's worrisome about blockages: Certainly don't want more Trouble! My digestive system has adjusted somewhat. - You don't have to respond to this blather! Don't even have to read it; live your life, time is precious!

I am slowly branching out on my diet but I try to chew everything up really well! 😊

Yeah, I airways ate so many greens and seeds, they're so healthy and I don't understand how I'm supposed to get the right nutrients now. I have a colostomy and it's supposed to get reversed though it will be almost a year before the first available appointment now. I eat more fattening things than I did bc it thickens the output. I eat lettuce but I blanch it first in chicken broth or something; cooked spinach too. I still try to chew it up well even when cooked, and spit out stringy parts.

Very helpful video! I have my surgery for an ileostomy in a week, which is quite nerve wracking, but also leaves me hopeful for a better quality of life. One question I have is, in your experience, have u found that it's more difficult to maintain weight with an ileostomy (ie, do u need to eat more/less, has it changed your appetite, has it improved absorption, etc)? It seems that, without a colon, that these factors would be affected, but I haven't found much info on that. What has your experience been? Thanks so much!

+Veggie Bee Thanks for watching! I hope your surgery goes well! For me it was easy to gain weight after surgery. However, I lost almost 30 lbs before surgery due to being sick from Crohns. After surgery I was pain free and wanted to eat often. I have a healthy appetite. I am thirsty ALL THE TIME. Your colon absorbs water and your body takes several years to adapt and realize that you don't have your colon anymore. Your small intestine will take over and do the job eventually but it is so important to carry Gatorade or something with sodium/potassium etc with you AT ALL TIMES! Let me know how the surgery goes. God bless!

The way you share is really calming. Loved your positivity. (After editing) After I commented, I went to your Jesus playlist, I am surprised and happy that you are also a follower of Jesus Christ, our savior. Now I know where that positivity comes from. Sister, I realise that throughout my illness, I have got much closer to Jesus like never before, I will have to acknowledge this. I believe God is working all things for our good, Amen.
