Ah amazing! I was vegetarian before going vegan, it feels like less of a big step (although to me now I don't know why I thought it felt like such a huge leap!) and I think the best way is just to then gradually start cutting out dairy and eggs by finding alternative replacements! What are your favorite brands of non-soy vegan yogurts? I️ find it so difficult to find tasty vegan yogurt

The one I was eating here was the Alpro vanilla yoghurt (it's soy which I don't really eat, but it's the only vegan vanilla yoghurt I've found that I like and I don't eat it too often!). I love Co-Yo, KoKo which are coconut based and Nush which is almond based and comes in some amazing flavours! Not sure where you are though as these are UK/Ireland only I believe :-) X

Do you have a pantry staples list for beginners on a tight budget? I want to begin the journey, but I really don't know where to begin.

I'd say rice, lentils, chickpeas, beans (all kinds), tinned tomatoes, a good range of fruit and veggies, and some dried herbs and spices, I suggest dried mixed herbs, paprika, chilli powder, curry powder and cumin to start off with - these don't have to be expensive, you can find them very cheap in the supermarket! Hope this helps! :-) X

Hi Jess! Sorry if I missed the information I am a new subscriber: how do you find good vegetables in winter? I live in Germany and try to eat local from an organic farm nearby, so that means no green beans or courgette but A LOT of different sorts of cabage lol.....even if I buy beans at the shop they are aweful... I love your What I Eat in a Day Videos! They are so inspirational and diverse and the first videos I click on whenever I see a new one. :) To just veganize some options in the Lifesum-App seems kind of tricky to me, like the tuna omelette option you showed? Even if I knew a good vegan tuna recipe, I would have no idea about the nutritional values and calories.. I think Lifesum is not really ready yet to be used conveniently by vegans. :)

Thanks so much for the lovely comment and for watching! Veganism is all about creating delicious foods including alternatives to foods we used to eat - it can easily be done (I also have a great Chickpea-Tuna recipe, however I don't count macros etc.). Since it's the new year and it's a time where some people will be giving veganism a try, 'veganising' recipes is a great way to discover how versatile it can be. It's not an app for vegans, I hope I made that clear in the video but there are some great vegan recipes on the app, the fact they are supporting veganism is why I was happy to work with them (as I said in the video, this isn't the first time I've worked with them) and not every company I support is 100% vegan - unless we show demand for vegan options (be it in restaurants or an app) things are unlikely to ever change, it would be great to see Lifesum become 100% vegan friendly with our support :-) X
