Cassie, if you stand the bell peppers up, and just cut straight down the sides, you don't have to worry about gutting & de-seeding the peppers. Kinda like you're cutting the edges off the "core." It's a lot easier & a lot quicker. I hope I explained this right, trying to be helpful. Oh, and your dinner looked delicious! 😉

That sandwich looks yummy. It's fun to see what other people eat. I get bored with food, and like to change things up. White ( most pungent) and yellow (all purpose) onions are usually added to cooked dish. Red onions are usually added to uncooked dish because of their lovely color and milder flavor. I suggest ( if you like spices) that you add some Adobo dry seasoning to your pepper/onion mix, or the corn and beans. It will add a nice layer of flavor.

My trick for peppers-- slice in half, scoop with your hand, then just rinse in the sink. The seeds are small enough that it doesn't matter if they go down the drain.

Pro tip for deseeding bell peppers: hold it with both hands and push the stem into the center using your thumbs; the core comes loose with most of the seeds attached, and then you can pull the peppers apart into halves to get the core out.... Most of the work is done, you just have to shake out the escaped seeds and chop up the peppers!
@dulcie8088 жыл бұрын
Easiest way to "clean" peppers is to cut them around the seeds. Hold the pepper with the stem up (standing up), then cut close to the stem downward toward the bottom, then turn the pepper and go around - cutting around the seeds. All you will be left with is the top of the stem with the seed pod section still attached. You may have to slice off some of the white rib on the sides you cut off but that's easy enough. Hope that helps! Love your videos!

I used to cook big batches of rice too, but i found out recently that one is never supposed to reheat rice more than once. I usually would make a big pot and reheat the whole pot, eat, put in fridge, reheat whole pot eat, put in fridge etc. Supposedly there is a bacteria (or something) in raw rice with bad stuff that survives the cooking process and can cause food poisoning :( What I read said that if I kept it in the fridge and only took out what I could eat and reheated to piping hot on the microwave or through frying it that it was safe, but other wise no. It would keep for 4 days only too! ;_;

Cassie, if you cut in a circle carefully around the stem of the peppers (like you would a jack-o-lantern) and pull the stem out it makes cleaning so easy. All the seeds come out at once, and any loose ones can be cleaned out by running the pepper under some water.

Hey Cassie, when you're cutting the stems out of the peppers, if you cut a little farther out, they can typically cut the seeds out at the same time, so when you pull the stem out it should take out the majority of the seeds too! Just a tip I've figured out along the way!

If you stand up a bell pepper and slice it from top to bottom along the good part that you wanna eat, you're left with the top stem and the core with all the seeds attached! Makes cutting bell peppers so much easier.

An easy way to deseed peppers is just cut them in half the long way, and just take ahold of the stem inside and pull it out! It takes all the seeds out in one step :-) saw Rachel Ray do it that way, and it's so easy lol. All of this food looks good! 😍

Hey, Cassie! Since you like adding some cilantro into your rice, you should try adding the stems while it cooks! Just cut off the stems, tie them with a bit of cooking twine, and toss them in with the water and rice. The stems are too tough to eat, but they have tons of flavor that can be infused into the grain while cooking ^-^ just make sure to pull them out once the rice is done cooking, and finish it off how you like! You can do this with almost any herb :) Happy cooking!

Hey Cassie, easiest way to de-seed a pepper is to cut around the outside top like your making a lid. Don't slice through it though, cut around the entire outside top. You should be able to pull the top off and get the seed heart out in one go. Then you can slice the pepper in quarters from the bottom and clean up pieces much easier. PB&B Ftw! :D

I'm not sure if someone has already suggested this but instead of cutting the bell peppers in half, try cutting a side of the pepper off. Like literally near the stem slice off one side and then just go around the pepper with the other sides, then you can just slice the sides into strips or whatever. It should avoid the seeds and core. Sometimes I have to remove some ribs from the inside of the pepper sides but it's way easier in my opinion. You can salvage what's left of the top and bottom of the pepper stem and core of the bits of pepper still left.

Cassie! I'm never usually a comment-er on videos, but I've been watching for a while now. I also have a light picking habit and something that I've found usually works very well for me is an extractor. It's a little metal tool that gets rid of the pimple without damaging the skin. I've seen a major improvement in the amount of scars that I end up with on my face. I think they should have them at Sephora. I know I end up with really red and damaged skin the next day if I pick at my pimples, and know that this tool is something that I just couldn't live without anymore. Much love, and love to Galileo!

I don't know if you've tried it, but banana "nice" cream is my favorite dessert to make :) I take about 1 and 1/2 frozen small bananas, a little bit of almond milk, and a tablespoon of cocoa powder. I'll give a quick rinse under water to dislodge any stray seeds and done.

Skippy peanut butter tastes so good 😩unfortunately in my household, my dad is a nutritionist, and we are only allowed to have fat free organic peanut butter. Skippy is filled with a lot of unhealthy ingredients, a lot of sugar and fat. Yet it tastes so much better sadly ! :(
@cassieszczepanski38848 жыл бұрын
If you transition into eating less sugar overall the natural peanut butter starts to taste a lot better! Or maybe it was just me getting older.. haha
@janetplanet738 жыл бұрын
Cassie Szczepanski I prefer a more natural healthier peanut butter. When I eat regular peanut butter it seems so sugary to me. But I've compared the nutrients label in "natural" peanut butter versus say Skippy... And it is just as unhealthy maybe even unhealthier. So you just have to be really careful of which brand you choose. I used to just grab anything that says natural and now I'm a bit more careful

Here's some yummy rice to try! Chop a tomato and onion (set aside) Brown your rice with an oil of your choice. (I normally do 1 to 2 cups of rice) For the liquids for your rice, mix one small can of tomato sauce with equal parts water and vegetable stock (you know, to equal the 2 to 1 rice to liquid ratio) add in tomatos and onions one table spoon of cumin one table spoon of minced garlic salt and pepper to taste stir and let cook! perfect for veggie tacos, burrito bowls, or just general consumption.
