A good porridge recipe is "carrot cake" so you cook grated carrots (fresh is best) in a bit of your milk of choice once it's almost cooked you add the oat, raisins (sultanas), cinnamon and more milk (and a pinch of salt). Serve with pecan nuts and your favourite sweetener (maple syrup for instance). Delicious!
@koritsi21424 жыл бұрын
You can also make amazing soft cookies with the same ingredients, plus a very ripe mashed banana! Just mix it with oats, raisins, grated carrot and nut butter (and honey if you want them extra sweet) and bake until golden, but still soft at 175°C

I'm going into treatment tomorrow for my ED, I hope I can come to the point where I accept my hunger and eat what I want. I've always refused to embrace it therefore I always end up in a binge and purge cycle when in reality all it was at first was extreme hunger. You are very inspiring to me Elzani

June Novae I used to go through the exact same thing. Somehow I managed to learn to appreciate my body & what it has done for me throughout my entire life so far and not care so much what it looks like. So I finally responded to my extreme hunger, even though some nights it would mean eating almost 10 granola bars + other snacks 🤢 but my body needed the calories & once I started eating until satisfaction & fullness, I havent binged or purged since. I know you can do it as well even though sometimes it feels so overwhelming & frustrating etc. I wish you the best of luck in recovery, you can beat this!!! 🙌🏻👏🏻🎉

To anyone that experiences binging and extreme hunger and is panicking bc of it: (from someone that had it really really heavily) × even if you're a "normal weight": remember, YOUR. BODY. IS. HEALING. Go for it. Food is your medicine. No matter what weight you are, disordered eating is disordered eating. × its all going to get balanced again if you keep going. I went from being very underweight, extremely hungry, very ill, always tired and extremely low heart rate to healthy just through eating when my body asked for it. This is the only way extreme hunger stops. × you deserve therapy and treatment NO MATTER YOUR WEIGHT. × life is so much better without ED. Keep going❤❤❤

Mine makes me get super unwell at any point yet I’m still to scared to recover.......... My little sister is to afraid to touch let alone hug just because of how thin I am and I still don’t want to recover......... There’s a constant argument going on in my head an ill start crying randomly because it just won’t stop, but I still don’t want to recover......... Most of my time is spent thinking about food, but I still don’t want to recover........ I feel like I haven’t been ill long enough so I will not recover............ But you will never be ill enough until it’s too late......

Can I ask how much weight you might of gained and did you ever stop gaining?💗
@sparx47243 жыл бұрын
@@22Dashin yea you’ll stop gaining, your body has its own ideal weight and likes to keep it there. It won’t stop gaining until it reaches it. It might go past it then return but that’s due to it preparing for the lack of food because it doesn’t know when it’s going to heat next so holds on. Once it learns it wont be deprived returns back to your normal.

I started responding to my hunger more. Im not exactly in real recovery yet I guess, but I'm close, or I'm starting out. I eat more and I'm extremely hungry and I try not to ignore it. I never got even close to how hard you have it, Ive only been struggling for about a year and a half, but your videos helped me. I watched a lot of them and then just instinctively started eating better. It's like I found out it's ok to eat and it's ok to recover and I don't need to be hurting forever. Recovering and eating is what we need to strive for, despite what the disorder tells us

You should be so proud of yourself Elzani, keep going and give yourself the opportunity to live a life that is full of happiness, purpose and love, an Eating Disorder takes all those things away from you -- it reduces life to nothing more than food related thoughts, sadly i know this all too well, I had an ED but am now recovered and I am so thankful that I didn't leave it a moment longer to leave the ED behind, be thankful you are still so young with your whole life ahead of you! And for some reassurance; digestive issues and bloating are par for the course in recovery, it took quite a while for my digestive system to 'regulate' , it will become less noticeable though i promise and as your life becomes more filled with other activities and goals, things like bloating and heartburn etc will be no more than a minor distraction. If you are in need of emotional support during your recovery talk to someone, your family or a therapist, don't let the doubts and negative thoughts take a hold of you again when you've come so far! Sorry for the essay!

Elzani, thank you for being part of what has inspired me to leave my (at least 36 year) ED behind. I know it's not as easy as that, but I've truly felt a shift, lately.. and I'd like to thank you for being a part of that. Eating is supposed to be enjoyable and nourishing, not a set of rules that leaves you constantly in your head and fighting with yourself. It also helps a great deal to accept your body and to focus on health over an unrealistic aesthetic. Continue to shine your light because you're helping others whether you realize it or not. ♥️♥️♥️

I get extreme hunger to, I always was disgusted with myself for still feeling hungry but I realize now that it's normal :) and I'm actually going to let my mom pick out what I eat for a day, it seems so scary and exciting at the same time but I can't wait!

Just wanted to share - not that anyone cares - but I grew up near Cartmel and before the hype hit about the Sticky Toffee Pudding, i grew up on that as my family loved it and we used to get it every week. But I never allowed myself to share in that experience, I never ate it or allowed myself to join in. Its a part of a journey that courses me pain, a memory that hurts me. I thought by denying myself it would make me a better person or that my family would like me more - but all i ended up doing was hurting myself. I hope that its not to late for you to turn that journey around. I dont know why you, out of all the therapists and councillors and friends and family, its you that has changed my life and perspective. And the funny thing is you are probably not even going to read this message! But if you do - please let me know. It would really really mean a lot

I constantly struggle with knowing whether I’m experiencing extreme hunger or binging
@GrumpyEarthAngel4 жыл бұрын
No such thing as binging :) not really. EH will feel very much like you're just binging on food, but its because your body is malnourished and needs ALOT of food to recover. It can be scary, I wont lie, but its soooo much better when you dont overthink it and just listen to your body. ❤

Anastasia Krych binge eating Is a real thing. Some people can eat regular meals yet at one point in their day they’ll eat a snack and then just eat more and more until it hurts.

Maybe because some people restrict,like mentallly restricte themselves,but not physically(for example I only eat one candy,not two -physical restriction, I’m not allowed to doughnut,so I eat broccoli,allowing even a bite of something and compensate what you crave something like “healthy” food - it’s mental restriction) And some people tend themselves to restrict mentally and their body like:” Hey human....Eat food!” But you ignore body signals,then after some time:”Hey human eat food”,after some time ignoring your body,you can’t deal with restriction and guess what happens next....That’s Right Biology of Your Body Wins and binge,but I like to say(Tabitha Farrar videos and book)Your body feast,cause feast response to famine... Conclusion Your body loves you Unconditionally,that is why restriction is a problem ,not feasting which your Genius Body response!
