Something I've noticed, which I think is an improvement, is the fact thart before before taking your first bite of any food it would take you many minutes of looking at it, saying it looks great, showing it several times to the camera, saying it looks yummy, sniffing it etc etc and now you just prepare it, take your shot and go for it. So it feels like you are getting more spontaneous with eating and starting a meal. I don't know if it's something you noticed or if it's real at all, but that's something I picked up throughout your videos

She’s just binging bro😭 when I was at extreme hunger I literally ate everything, even my hated food became so delicious because I was starving This girl is just basically stuffing herself with chocolate and calling it extreme hunger she probably can stop eating but doesn’t even want to because she’s gotten so obsessed over food😭 just look at the way she rolls her eyes when she talks about food like whatt And how do you even still experience extreme hunger after eating everyday regularly?
@moonlovesme10 ай бұрын
@@Lily-nr3do so you’re telling me a real starving person won’t eat food that they don’t like because they’re extremely hungry?😭 some people literally eat food from garbage because they’re so hungry. I’m not talking about the weight, I’m talking about the behaviour, if she doesn’t restrict anything, eats normally and regularly, she doesn’t necessarily experience extreme hunger anymore, One thing I’m saying is, maybe she found comfort in eating. I don’t mean it in a bad way, but if you restrict yourself off something for so long, and then you finally snap out of the restriction, and allow yourself to have everything you want, that comes off not only because your body was malnourished but also because you were mentally craving it. It’s okay to give in but this is literally too much because she doesn’t eat lots of nutritious dense food. For me personally I just think she’s doing too much, like yea we get it you were starving yourself and now you’re just eating everything you want, time to find a Balance and make life not only being revolved over food and overcoming fear foods

Does the extreme hunger phase then end and then its 'normal' eating? Sorry only just come across the channel and dont really know much about anorexia let alone the recovery. @@momnahyasin3126 yes it does stop when you are nutritionally rehabilitated and at your set point healthy weight, but you need to not fall back into restriction as it will start all over again. You need to keep eating as much as your body needs (which will be a more 'normal' amount) xx

This is such a cool video. I went through extreme hunger in 2014 when I first weight restored. I wish now I embraced it like you did. I was so terrified because I didnt know what it was. I was eating entire loaves of bread and entire batches of scones, 20+ weetabix and packets of nut bars. While initially it was 'ok' because I needed to gain weight, there may come a time for you Elzani when this is really scary. When my BMI was closer to the high end of normal than the lower and I was still dealing with extreme hunger, my mental health was horrific and recovery wasnt the slightest bit enjoyable. Six years on my weight has settled and remains at my normal, I never relapsed, the extreme hunger ended after 8 months or so when my body knew it was going to be fed. I feel this really is the way to go with recovery by truly letting your body and mind heal. I just wish I didnt fear it so much when it happened to me. Take care, I love you so much!!
@katerijayne26684 жыл бұрын
Emma That’s what’s holding me back from recovery the most. I’m a healthy weight, maybe on the higher end. I’m scared out of my mind to just eat whatever I fancy, because I’m afraid I won’t be able to stop. I feel like I don’t “deserve” to have whatever I like, because I’m not nearly as thin as many people with anorexia. Essentially, I’m terrified that I’ll gain unwarranted weight
@cookedapple4 жыл бұрын
@@katerijayne2668 hey I totally get you. Try remember a body that has been starved, even if it's for a short enough period that you arent yet underweight, still needs a LOT of food to heal itself from that. Honestly the hardest part of the course of my ED was when I was at a very normal weight, that's when I suffered the most. I was still experiencing extreme hunger in 2016, two years on from weight recovery. Because I was so frightened of it I was resisting it, and so it made it last longer. At this point my BMI had been 23-24 for two years. However despite feeling like I was constantly overeating, my weight actually didnt just climb infinitely. It stopped around that mark. All that food I needed for other things, I did stop gaining, and now, 4 years on.. I sit around 21. No extreme hunger, no binge eating episodes, i eat a very normal amount of food daily. Sadly my brain hasn't completely healed as I am still scared of some things particularly new foods and eating in restaurants. But mostly I'm ok!

Shocked to see some really negative comments on here. Elzani, please don't let your ed focus on those comments. I truly think that they are written either by someone who is very ill with an ED themselves or by someone who has little to no understanding of what it means to have anorexia. Please remember that the only one who truly knows how much you need to eat is you so please ignore the negativity on here. I think it's great that your leggings fit and that you are starting to get your life back. Maybe you will be able to go to uni one day if you wanted to but that doesn't need to be any time soon. Some people go in their 30's or 40s or maybe uni isn't for you. Either way I don't think you need to worry too much about what to do with your future because recovery is waaaay more important than that right now and you only have a future to think about because you made the brave decision to start recovery. Stay strong Elzani you have a great family 🌟

I'm SO happy for you Elzani. Truly. I feel like I've now found myself in a position similar to yours- finally allowing myself food freedom in terms of listening to my body and eating what I want. And as much as I need until my cravings are satisfied. Yes, sometimes that means I eat an entire bag (sometimes family sized lol) of something like chips, crackers, nuts, or cereal in one sitting. But I love what you said about the nuts- "I have a lot of catching up to do." SO MUCH YES TO THIS!! Sometimes it scares me how much I have to eat of a certain food I'm craving until I feel satisfied. But I know much of that is due to the deprivation, restriction, and chronic malnourishment I've put my body through for 12 years. It's going to take time and consistency to catch up. And until my brain/body understand, "ok, we don't need to send such intense craving signals and keep it going for so long. we don't need to eat the entire bag anymore. a few servings (or even sometimes 1) will do. we now trust that she'll respond to her intuitive hunger-fullness cues and nourish herself appropriately and with freedom." It's almost like repairing a broken relationship and needing to earn trust again before things will settle down and normalize (and by that I mean what is normal/appropriate for us as individuals cause screw what everyone else tells us we should or should not be doing). At least, this is what my dietician tells me. :) Love seeing that radiant smile and shine in your eyes! I'm so thrilled for you. Keep on shining girl. :)

i don‘t like my body and in the past i always tried to not eat to be „skinnier“ but i learned your body needs food, maybe not a bar of chocolate and ice cream etc. all in one go but balance is key. I eat when i feel hungry, i stop when i feel full and i eat whatever my body is craving. I‘d recommend that to anyone. For example treat your body as if it was your pet. You wouldn‘t starve your dog or cat, would you? Remember you are worth eating food, your body needs food. much love and stay strong

I've only been watching for a couple of months and the first video I saw was your whole documentary. And WOW OMG you're so amazing... I love watching your videos! You seem so happy and that is the best thing ever!

Its like you seem happy and your eyes sparkly and your inner beauty shines though. That is the only change I can see , You are so amazing and any weight gain is 80% in your head and 20& reality as you are still really tiny and underweight - but thats not the point. Your smile and happiness is the point. Huge hugs, Happy Easter, I ho[e you read this message. You have helped me. xxx

The changes in you from the beginning of your videos is amazing, taking bigger bites, not hesitating, eating the proper amount you need for recovery, and more obviously but I remember watching a video where you were eating dinner with your family and you were crying and upset and questioning if you took too much food, but now you’re eating so good and have such great behaviors! Keep doing well elzani!

THIS is the video I needed to watch this week. THANK U ELZANI!!! The recent health hysteria has made me extremely anxious and I typically turn to restricting. This keeps me grounded and hopeful to find better coping mechanisms. I’m gonna be watching this video every time I even think about restricting!! Love you forever for this seriously

Elzani I hope you are staying well under quarantine, I am in recovery at the moment and while I'm eating more, I'm still really struggling and not gaining weight, it gives me so much hope to see how far you have come in your videos, how much you celebrate and enjoy food now and the lovely support of your family. You seem so much more energetic in front of the camera and it's a wonderful reminder of all the rewards recovery can bring to see you looking so happy and fulfilled!

Aw I’m so happy for you! You are a new and IMPROVED Elzaniiiii!!!!! You are so much more happy and you care wayyy less about the little things like simply choosing a snack! You also eat way quicker now! Your time lapses seem shorter then your older time lapses in other videos

Girl let me just say, this video is like watching a completely different person! Not only do you seem happier and more energetic, but you also just seem so much more sure of yourself. You seemed so apprehensive when you first started videos, but now you seem so confident, and rightfully so! From your voice, the way you talk, and even your body language, you just seem so happy. You're killing it, we're so proud of you!!!

hello, my name is Sonia I'm from Italy. I wanted to thank you for your energy and desire to live, I follow you from your first videos and you helped me during my "dark" period.. you made me open my eyes. "What I'm fucking doing my life" I collapsed, I got up and now I'm really good with myself .. even if I find myself thinking too much and judging myself .. but I'm working on it. I wanted to thank you, thank you sister I love your smile❤
