Fleur I've watched your videos for years (and even had the privilege of meeting you once!) and I think you're one of the classiest and most together KZbinrs going. Just keep doing you and ignore all the hate about you eating what you want to eat. You're so right, being mean is unhealthy!

I agree the meat and dairy industry treats animals completely unfairly, you're totally right, and in promoting meat consumption Fleur is inadvertently supporting that industry but I don't think attacking her is a constructive way of getting that message across. I'm not saying thats what you're doing but obviously what another vegan KZbinr has. I believe in kindness towards everyone no matter what they believe in (and yes that extends to kindness towards animals!) so if we want to share opinions we should do so constructively not in a way that makes people feel belittled! I don't think positive change comes from a place of feeling scared and judged and everyone should be able to live their lives how they want.

I've been a vegetarian for more than 20 years and a vegan for 5. I keep this diet for moral reasons, the health and beauty benefits are cherry on top. I encourage everyone to try it. That said, all this vegan militancy hate spewing and criticism does no one any good. It makes me insane that so many people are chased away from trying a vegan diet by the behavior of people on forums like these. Stop being so goddamn negative--you don't have to call someone a murdererer for putting chicken in their quinoa & veggie dinner. How would you respond to some stranger doing that to you? Suggest alternatives instead. People respond to positive, go defensive and tune you out when you go negative. I'd love it if Fleur tried a vegan diet for a week. Use tempeh or tofu instead of eggs or chicken. Show people alternatives, even if though don't go vegan if they try it and like it enough to incorporate it in their diet that's progress. That's a lot of animal suffering saved, from just a small, a few times a week change. Imagine if instead of bashing a youtuber for blogging their dinner that included chicken you made comments that got them to eliminate it once in a while. That's a moral victory in itself. So get off your high horses and have a long game plan. Because otherwise your just being a look at me trying to stir up the pot and that's getting no one anywhere.

+Ali2015 I totally agree with Carolyn, I'm vegan and my partner is not and he has cut down majorly on animal products. In saying that I can see why Freelee's way works better than ours. Lets face it we paid a lot more attention to her way than anyone ever has doing it our way. Sometimes the truth has to be shouted at us to actually get our attention. After all she is the most viewed vegan out there. I personally love Tannyraw but her method catches few and I am one of those few. :) don't take it to heart, she makes videos on everyone. KZbin is so big your always bound to run into critics x

+Carolyn Cook Among vegans - just as with any like-minded group - a few people promote “groupthink,” Groupthink is the idea that all members of the group should conform to the same set of rules at all times and for every situation. Some say all vegans should avoid being negative, or posting graphic images; others say all vegans should ostracize specific “celebrity vegans,” or avoid making comparisons between abused animals and abused humans. Groupthink ultimately does more harm than good. There’s no one way written in stone that always works in every situation. The idea that there’s a vegan club where all members need to “represent” a (nonexistent) organization in only one way is based on a fiction. There is no club. We don’t have “leaders” to answer to. Vegans are individuals with diverse ways of “representing” veganism, not a monolithic structure held together by conformity. As for how I would respond to a stranger calling me a murderer?... That did happen to me, and I responded by admitting my hypocrisy, agreeing with them, and going vegan. Everyone is different, and there is no one correct way to advocate.

Cannot believe how many f***ing comments are about meat... Fleur is an adult and chooses to eat meat, but doesn't bash veganism or the people who follow that lifestyle, but she does call out someone who piggybacks off other KZbinrs meat eating / diets for views. Freelee is a vegan and constantly accuses meat eaters of being rapists (da f***?) and murderers, and again, cannot make her own content interesting enough to gather viewers without referencing people with millions of viewers. I know who I side with. Keep doing what you're doing Fleur, don't let this chick or her followers bully you.

I am not a fan of you, to be honest, but I am really sorry that you have to deal with all these crazy militant vegans. And you are right, Freelee is mean and clearly mentally disturbed - her "veganism" is just another form of a super restrictive eating disorder, she suffered from one before and it is quite normal to slip into so-called "orthorexia", claiming to be eating healthy but actually being way too restrictive. Also, her boyfriend is obviously a narcissist - his behaviour is textbook narcissism. I am super happy if veganism makes someone happy and feel healthy, but for Heaven's sake, stop attacking people who eat differently from yourselves. To pretend that you care about the planet, only to be ridiculously mean and aggressive towards a human being is the very definition of hypocrisy. Many people do NOT thrive on a vegan diet, that is a fact - plenty of ex vegans have written about this on the net so "educate yourselves", as you militant vegans always demand others to do.

***** Wow, how ignorant am i? How ignorant are you all more like. Do you think everyone in the world has access to whole foods where they can stroll in and get organic this and organic that? In many parts of the world believe it or not people are still forced to hunt animals to survive just like our ancestors would have so if you think its murder to kill for food then please wake up. Im not saying that these industrial sized farms and slaughter houses are good, I've seen first hand what they can do to poor animals and its horrifying but there is nothing wrong with killing an animal humanely as its part of our existence. Personally don't think its right to constantly lecture someone on their choices, what they eat, what they do. You don't want to eat meat, thats fine. Others do

I gave that Freelee's video response in regards to this video a big thumbs down, not because she advocates veganism but because she's spreading negativity. She has no right to force her beliefs down other peoples' throats. As adults, we are intelligent enough and are entitled to make our own opinions and whether someone else agrees or disagrees should not matter because at the end of the day we do things for ourselves, not others. Who is she to put anyone down? Yes, I respect that Freelee is a vegan and has an opinion about it but she should also respect ours. She's clearly doing this to gain attention and followers. Please do not feed the trolls, Fleur...you're much better than that. Continue being the way you are and we'll always be here to support you because you're not fake! xoxo

+rakwil We can't respect people who willfully pay for animals to be raped/tortured/murdered for nothing more than palette pleasure.... Think of anything you believe is wrong in this life. Pedophilia, rape, murder, any of those things. Would you respect another adults 'choice' to act on those things? Or would you be entirely against it? When there's a victim involved, it isn't personal choice. And how is someone speaking out about what is right, and what is wrong, 'forcing beliefs down peoples throats'? Words are being spoken, ideas are being shared, truth is being spread.. No one is holding a knife to someone else's throats 'forcing' them.... The only genuine act of brute force I see are the people who are slitting an animals throat, forcing it to die for a 15 minute meal.
@rakwil
@rakwil 8 жыл бұрын
+Syd Lane Ⓥ And I completely respect your opinion. But you need to understand I wasn't going against Freelee's beliefs. As I mentioned in my previous comment, I respect her choice to be a vegan. What I don't agree with, is the fact that she nitpicked this video, mocked Fleur and was being extremely sarcastic about it. THAT to me, is spreading negativity to the point of what appears to be cyberbullying. However, this is my opinion as you may not see it as how I felt like it was. I have been watching Fleur for years, pretty much ever since she started making KZbin videos and not once has she ever publicly gone off on someone else's videos, just because she felt threatened or just because she didn't agree with their opinions. I understand where you're coming from, really I do. I understand that animals unfortunately can never stand up for themselves to "voice" out their rights but you need to understand too a lot of people who still eat meat, including myself, we have not reached that point of realization just yet of going vegan. I tried to go vegan once a couple of years ago but I simply couldn't do it. So much respect to those who succeeded and stuck to it. I also know a couple of friends who are vegan now who used to eat meat. They had to go through their own journey to get to where they are. They are the same caring people I know before they became vegans and after and they have not once tried to convert me because they know it's my choice to make. It's not easy and you have to respect our decisions too however barbaric they may seem to you. We are not the spawn of satan just because we eat meat and we should not be treated that way. That is the vibe I'm getting from Freelee. She has every right to her opinions and sharing them for all to hear and see but she can do so in a nicer manner, not by rolling her eyes and not by using sarcasm as she did in her video to Fleur. And I completely agree with what Fleur said in her comment....being mean is unhealthy. We are all adults here, let's all try to act like it.
@SydLane
@SydLane 8 жыл бұрын
rakwil People who eat meat are not evil. But they're making horrifying, selfish 'choices' that I can't respect. I don't think talking about it openly and honestly is in any way bullying. I myself was called out on my behavior, and that is why I went vegan. I could admit they were right, I didn't start feeling sorry for myself when I wasn't a victim - the animals were MY victims. I don't think people should be coddled into believing they can take their sweet time on a journey to being vegan. It's an urgent issue, not one that can wait for people hemming and hawing over palette pleasure....Equate eating flesh to any of the other once societally accepted practices, which we now view as horrifying - such as slavery.... No one would think it was 'bullying' to tell slave owners that what they were doing needed to stop. No one would respect someone on a journey to not owning as many slaves. Complaining about being bullied or victimized by vegans who are just telling the truth is really immature when every year, billions of animals are living in abject horror for nothing more than a 15 minute meal. It stinks. I'm sorry your friends are not stronger in their ethical convictions. It's a shame, and I wish they'd advocate more. Treated like the spawn of Satan? Come on now, If we wanted to treat Carnists like the spawn of Satan, we'd probably do something a lot more drastic than merely talking openly about the issues. It's hard to feel sorry for some privileged youtube-famous chick who's upset that the "mean vegans" just want her to stop hurting animals.

Freelee is a popular health vegan KZbinr who gains much of her popularity by making videos for/about famous personalities eg celebrities and other KZbinrs. Freelee does what she does try to revolutionise KZbin stars by trying to veganise them as it would inspire much of their following to do the same. She recently made a video in response to this. And why is everyone criticizing Fleur for eating meat? She has a large audience and has so much potential to inspire and motivate her followers and can have a massive influence. If she were to go vegan (which is what we're trying to do) just think how many people would be inspired to do the same! How many animal lives would be saved! I strongly recommend you watch "101 Reasons to go Vegan" on KZbin to educate your self :)

angelicearthling I WILL BE VEGAN FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, THATS FOR DAMN SURE. I guess you haven't gotten the memo eating raped, tortured dead animals isn't the in thing any more. Also that the milk you drink and the cheese you eat has somatic cell count AKA "Pus" that's right pus. When you milk a cow dry 3-4 times a day it creates an infection in and around the utters therefore pus, blood, and mucus all go inside the milk. and yes its pasteurized but that's only a sanitation process not a removal process. So please don't pass judgment on me being vegan and how long it may last when you have no idea what you are talking about. THANKS k BYE!

I guess you somehow have a looking glass and can see clearly into your future. Neato! The 85% would have said the exact same thing when they were vegan/vegetarian too. Oh and If I'm passing judgement, what do you call what you are doing by telling Fleur to go vegan on her video when the entire comment section is packed with vegans telling her to go vegan, most of them being extremely rude because they are freelee fan? KK THAT'S ALL!! THANKS k BYE! lol.

Some people would call that extreme." ~ Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Gary Yourofsky face "It is not your right-based on YOUR traditions, YOUR customs and YOUR habits-to deny animals THEIR freedom so you can harm them, enslave them and kill them. That’s not what rights are about. That’s injustice." ~ Gary Yourofsky Freelee Frugivore Vegan Vegetarian "When you adopt a vegan diet we make a connection, you don't go back, it is not a diet, it is a lifestyle." ~ Freelee the Banana Girl Arnold Schwarzenegger Vegan ""Luckily we know that you can get your protein source from many different ways, you can get it through vegetables if you are a vegetarian. I feel very deeply about vegetarianism and the animal kingdom. It was my dog Boycott who led me to question the right of humans to eat other sentient beings." ~ Cesar Chavez Dr. Michael Greger "I continue to be amazed by our bodies' ability for self-repair. ... Our bodies want to be healthy, if we would just let them. That’s what these new research articles are showing: Even after years of beating yourself up with a horrible diet, your body can reverse the damage, open back up the arteries-even reverse the progression of some cancers. Amazing! So it's never too late to start exercising, never too late to stop smoking and never too late to start eating healthier." ~ Michael Greger Pamela Anderson Vegan Vegetarian "Every time we go by KFC, my kids ask me to honk and they yell 'Boo' out the window." ~ Pamela Anderson "Suffering is suffering. And therein do we err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth." ~ Henry Beston "If a rabbit defined intelligence the way man does, then the most intelligent animal would be a rabbit, followed by the animal most willing to obey the commands of a rabbit." ~ Robert Brault "Whenever people say ‘We mustn’t be sentimental’ you can take it they are about to do something cruel. And if they add ‘We must be realistic’ they mean they are going to make money out of it." ~ Brigid Brophy

Fluer, i've been watching your videos for years, however I was really saddened to see your opinion on Freelee. Sometimes vegans have to go about making their point in a dramatic way in order to get peoples attention, she isn't being mean and nonetheless it really doesn't even matter. She is making an amazing difference in this world by making so many people healthier, preventing so many diseases/cancers with her diet recommendations, helping the environment, and animals….I really do not believe that she could be shamed for doing so. In the end of the day, her message is to promote good for humans, the planet, and animals. The way it comes across must sometimes be dramatic in order to get attention. I love Freelee and you, please take our Vegan diet into consideration because it will only make you healthier, happier, and you'll be doing a good deed.

Are you actually kidding me? Nearly every comment on this video is about Fleur and her choice to eat meat. If I were to go into FreeLee's videos and start posting comments about how cruel it is to eat bananas, I would be lynched by crazy militant vegans. If you don't respect other people's choices, no one has to listen to you. Is all your food organic and fair trade? If so then good for you, you make more money than me and most of the people I know. If not, then you can really shut up about eating meat being cruel. Ask the underpaid farmer that picked your banana, whose profits are kept by the fat cats in the west. Ask him if he gives a crap about the life the chicken had before he fed it to his kids because they're hungry, because the crop wasn't good this year. If you don't eat meat but you do eat non fair trade, your priorities are seriously screwed up. And if people want to eat meat, you can tell them nothing about cruelty. Especially FreeLee, who is essentially a bully.

+Sazza997 oh god I agree with everything you say. I hate to do this, but there's a lot more to veganism than just the choice part. I mean yes it is but in order to make the choice you should be informed about both sides, the advantage you get from meat eating and what the disadvantages are and what the advantages are and the disadvantages of eating plant based. I'm not telling you to go vegan, honestly that's up to you, but I'd like to encourage you to watch documentaries, read books and just be informed about it. there's the health aspect and the environmental aspect and they're interesting actually, I liked watching cowspiracy...not earthlings so much, it's jut slaughterporn for one and a half hour and it's boring as hell. if you don't....then don't, you're happy with what you do and that's what matters...and if you get the chance lit up that banana girl and eat her too.

+Cornelia Hanimann I'm actually an ex-vegan, and the diet made me really sick and I was encouraged by my doctor to start eating meat again. I've actually seen cowspiracy, and it doesn't change my mind, because I'm very informed about where my food comes from and in my country we actually have a very strong connection with farming, so I could tell you which farm in my area I am buying my meat and dairy from and whether or not it's free-range and organic and all that good stuff. I actually buy my lamb from the farm next to my house, where I can see the sheep all day and how they are looked after. I am constantly watching documentaries on this stuff, I make it my business to source my food well and eat so that I am at my healthiest and can maintain my levels of activity without feeling constantly exhausted. And I already commented on FreeLee's attack on this video, don't worry! Thank you for being so calm and rational, it's just great to see someone non-crazy in this comments section! ;)

Sazza997 My doctor prescribed me adderall when I told him I wanted to lose a couple pounds, so I could more easily starve myself. He literally told me that, even though he knew I was already only eating 1400 calories a day, and had a history of eating disorders. Doctors generally get about 24 hours of nutrition training, and they aren't an automatic expert in the area of diet. Hell, in the 60's, doctors were OK with people smoking. Babies were operated on, without anesthetic until the 1980's, because doctors believed they couldn't feel pain. They're not really the be-all and end-all of knowledge and health, they aren't to be automatically believed or trusted. I have a hard time trusting people who make a living off of people staying sick. Healthy people = no more business for them. I've watched both of my grandmothers, and my husbands grandmother be prescribed conflicting medicines from their doctors that almost killed them. It sucks that you eat lamb, even when you can see them in all their glory in a natural setting... I spent about 10 years on a rural farm in Ireland, and the lambs were exactly like puppies... running up to me, loving to be cuddled and played with... The fact that they had to be killed for a 15 minute meal is so heart breaking. For weeks after the lambs would be taken away and murdered, the sheep would wander the fields frantically searching for their babies, crying out until they lost their voices. The sheep that would normally be friendly to me, were totally despondent and disconnected, depressed about their stolen children.... I just don't understand how you can be so disconnected from your empathy for their lives? If you were feeling exhausted, it could be because you were not consuming enough calories. I believe you had to have been an ex-plant based eater, rather than an ex-vegan.... plant based eating is just a diet.... veganism is a moral stance, a lifestyle based around empathy for animals. You just don't sound very empathic to me, with the way you disregard the animals lives and you seem to believe it's ok to murder them if they are organic? And you're ok with stealing calves away from their mothers and murdering them for veal so you can have their milk, as long as they're free range?... It's no good. Please ask yourself how you'd feel if you were in their position, and some 'superior' race came along and decided that it was ok to kill and eat you, as long as they kind of treated you OK while you were alive. Also, I'm going to mute this thread... I have a feeling your response is going to depress the hell out of me, and I don't want to see it (or the subsequent responses that will in no-doubt be in favor of animal rape/torture/murder, because hey, cruelty is the norm).... You're going to get defensive, and make more excuses, rather than just put your hands up and admit that you don't really care and just want to do what you want to do regardless of who gets hurt in the process. It's usually what happens. Lately it's been killing my soul the way people don't give a shit about animals... It's not something I can understand, or relate to, and it makes me feel like there's no hope for humanity, or mankind to be compassionate, or good... The world is such a heavy, dark place as it is without people causing such pain, terror, and blood shed for nothing more than palette pleasure. As Leonardo Da Vinci said... There will come a day when people regard the murder of an animal, as the murder of a human being. That day just can't come soon enough.

+Syd Lane Ⓥ It really doesn't take a genius to see that a previously healthy person, now on a restrictive vegan diet, with serious, serious case of anaemia is not taking well to that diet. At the time I was taking iron supplements left right and centre but I was still fainting and having heat palpitations. I couldn't absorb the fake iron; I needed it in my food and I simply wasn't getting enough from green veg, even when I upped my intake of that. I eat lamb, and beef, because they are very high in iron, and good for my health. Since I've been eating meat again, my anaemia has cleared up no problem. Lambs are not actually babies where they are taken to slaughter, you know that? They are about a year and a half, and already independent from their mothers, unless you are talking spring lamb, which I'm not. I really think that what I eat, however, is my business, and not something that I should have to justify to anyone, and nor should Fleur!

i honestly think you would be really passionate about veganism! you just have to read about it a little more. i can tell you are a kind and caring person. i understand that you don't like having angry vegans yell at you, I didn't like that either and that's why it took me so long to educate myself on veganism. but once I did, it totally opened my eyes. going vegan is healthier, better for the earth, and of course better for the animals. just read up on it for fun, I think you'll be surprised. a good documentary to start on is "cowspiracy" love u!! xo

Can people please stop talking about her going vegan or being a hypocrite. If she doesn't want to go vegan she doesn't have to I respect vegan people getting angry but it is her life and you should respect her for herself she doesn't need to go vegan she is not the only one that is not vegan she is not being mean by eating chicken a lot of people do it I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone but it is true my friend is vegan and she doesn't force people or even encourage people to go vegan she just keeps it to herself and I feel like everyone should to

i enjoyed this! it wasn't in-your-face or aggressive about food choices/diets (some of "what i eat in a day" videos can be).... just realistic and laid back :) thanks! ps: this year, can you do more product reviews, testing, impressions, and best/worst type videos? you do this particular kind of content really well (evaluating products), and i would love to see more! i particularly love your disappointing product series, it has saved me $$!

Wow I am shocked how much this video blew. I don't eat meat but I never preach to those who do. There is a huge difference between educating people on animal cruelty then coming to their KZbin and bashing them non stop. If anything that kind of attitude would make me want to eat it more!

I take it you don't know that animal products are unhealthy (cholesterol, animal protein and fat, antibiotics, hormones etc.)? Luckily there are delicious vegan alternatives in most supermarkets these days. Also, livestock produces way more greenhouse gas emissions than all cars, trucks, planes, trains and ships combined.

yeah but I'm sure she's feeling alot of pressure at the moment thats not needed and nobody has the right to judge her , yes there a cruel things happening in the world today in regards to animal cruelty but that doesn't excuse the fact the someone is being bombarded with messages about being vegan when the only person that can make that choose is herself , people need to let her decided for herself what is right or wrong , I'm also not saying being vegan is bad , i have standards and its also includes treating other how i would like to be treated

Please watch Earthlings or Cowspiracy. The meat/egg/dairy industry's mutilate and torture animals, animal agriculture is not sustainable, and it's taking a toll on the environment. People are urging you to go vegan because it's better for your health and the planet. If you think that vegans politely and passionately educating others is dismissed as "attacks" then that is really sad. Best wishes to you! Xx

Jesus christ, never thought a video like this would trigger that amount of hate in the comment section. Dear vegans. Noone, I repeat, NOONE will go vegan because you are a mean disrespectful animal while commenting. Being nice is lovely, but don't just be nice to animals, be nice to other humans as well!!!! This is ridiculous. It is Fleur's choice what she eats and what she doesn't. I eat meat - for now, but I think I will become a vegetarian soon, as it bothers me more and more that I eat the flesh of other beings. But it is my choice, and it is going to be made because of my own feelings. I am not going to change, because a bunch of idiots screaming the house down for others eating meat. Get a grip of yourselves.

It's all about the system of supply and demand. Every time we pay for animal 'products' we demand for them to be killed so the industry kills the animals to supply us.
@emanuelaemanuela
@emanuelaemanuela 8 жыл бұрын
The chicken was killed so she could cut, fry and eat it and acting all cute and adorable. The times are changing, there is plenty of food out there now, no need to kill animals. Or at least don't act all offended and shocked when people criticize you talking about "healthy" food. I had to vomit just by looking at the wobbly dead piece of flesh being cut and torn. Too many people are aware now that there is no difference between a cute dog and a baby pig or chicken. But the one gets all the love and the others get the knife.

***** NO because if you don't pay them to do so they wouldn't be doing it in the first place. Some of the workers in the slaughterhouse are complete psychopaths and conflict addition harm to the animals, but again, they wouldn't be there in the first place if you weren't paying them to do so.
