You see, what I love about your healthy eating is that it looks incredibly yummy! I used to associate healthy with "bad tasting" or "bland" or even "disgusting", so everytime I tried getting healthier, I'd feel like I was about to torture myself, depriving myself from all tasty food. But when I see you and Marcus and some other youtubers eating healthy and really enjoying it, it helps making me change my mind. I've already found quite a few healthy recipes that I really enjoy making and eating, which I never thought was possible! So yeah, slowly but surely I am making a change in my lifestyle, and at 22, it was more than time to get myself in check! I still struggle of course because my Relationship with food has never been healthy: food is my comfort blanket and my enemy at the same time. But yeah, as I said, trying to make a positive change, and that's in part thanks to you. So thanks for inspiring your viewers Niomi! I particularly hope that teens will get into the habit of healthy eating as soon as possible, since the older you are, the tougher it is to change your whole lifestyle! PS: thanks for making eating about giving energy to your body and preserving your health and not about getting a "dream" or "perfect" or "beach ready" body, because we have already way too many people teaching that, and that's unhealthy!

Thank you for sharing this :) I like that it shows that even when you're eating healthy you can still eat enough. Every diet I followed always allowed me to eat such a tiny amount of food that I ended up snacking bad things at the end of the day. My parents do not allow me to become vegan, but I will try some of your recipes.

***** I'm not saying she eats alot, I think she eats a healthy amount of food. It's good that she can have a full plate for dinner. I know it's mainly vegtables but vegtables can be very tasty as well :) I was just saying that it's good that she eats enough so she isn't hungry all day. I have been strugling with my weight for the last couple of years and my problem with most diets is that I do not eat enough and start snacking.

You may have already said this before, but where did you learn to cook? You always seem to be making such interesting and tasty food! I know you said you like to gather recipes, is that mainly where you get ideas from? & I've tried going vegan twice now and lasted a max of 3 days. It's so hard when everyone in my house isn't vegan & so it ends up costing more for my mum to get me ingredients which would be suitable for me to eat! Is anyone around 17 or younger who is vegan? If so do you have any tips?? - Wow this was a long comment!x
@Tat4ification9 жыл бұрын
amelia pawlak I'm actually almost 21 now, so a bit over your age limit! But I started going veggie when I was living with my family in high school. Basically, it took a bunch of long talks with my mum about what it meant to be getting different groceries and cooking my own meals, plus there were all sorts of concerns she had. So talking with one or both parents is crucial. The other thing that helped me incredibly was that whenever my mum said she was going grocery shopping, I always just went along. It ended up being fun time with my mum, but it meant that along the way, I just threw foods I wanted to be eating into the cart. Lastly, I offered to make food for the entire family from time to time. This meant learning to cook meat too since they weren't vegan, or finding a good filling recipe they would like (such as a nice red curry with tons of veggies and rice). Hope this helps!

I'm 15 and I've been vegan for 9 months now. When I first started I made sure to look for vegan recipes online that tasted really good to make the transition easier. I recommend 'deliciouslyella' recipes and a vegan KZbin channel called 'plantbasedjudy'. You don't need to eat complex dishes , just some potatoes and veggies for example fills you up and it's super easy to make. I live in a non vegan household and my family love whenever I make something vegan for them. I suggest you watching the documentaries 'earthlings' and 'the best speech ever by Gary yourofsky' because that will then give you reasons apart from health to go vegan. Also check out high carb vegans on Instagram and KZbin because in my opinion it's one of the best vegan diets to follow! Good luck and I promise you going vegan will be one of the best decisions you make :)
@charlottehogan36009 жыл бұрын
Hey :) I'm 14 and I've been vegan for about a year, I agree with the comment above. I go shopping with my mum to find vegan things and when I can't go with her I write a list of things to get, the products and the brands that I want (to make sure that it's all vegan). Finding a health food or vegan supermarket type shop in your area is always really helpful. I recommend you watch the videos on the youtube channel 'Bite Sized Vegan', she has videos that are really informative and informational about veganism ^.^ Following plant based instagram accounts is a really good idea, and some other blogs (as well as the blogs listed above, which I love) that I like are 'This Rawsome Vegan Life' and 'Fragrant Vanilla Cake'. I hope this helped? Good luck x

Eating brown bread is not unhealthy ...
@99growlithe999 жыл бұрын
It is, actually. Much of the ‘brown’ bread you’ll find in the supermarket is simply just white bread with brown coloring, often caramel, added back into it. Neither brown nor white bread are too healthy, although they're not necessarily super unhealthy if you're eating it in the quantity that Niomi is (like I wouldn't stop myself from eating it). But if you wanna go the fully healthy route, I'd just go with whole grain bread or something like that
@sarahasakitty9 жыл бұрын
Where I live we get our brown bread from the farm so it's definitely not white bread and unhealthy!
@raghadgibreel75649 жыл бұрын
+99growlithe99 I can't believe companies would go this far to trick us into eating something we obviously don't want. I never knew there was a difference between whole grain bread and brown bread. I always thought brown was a more simpler way of saying it.

I don't agree with you describing eating a teeny tiny slice of brown bread as "cheeky". Your diet is immensely healthy and virtually carbohydrate free so that amount of bread is hardly cheeky in any way. We need some form of carbohydrate to survive and perceiving that food group, one of the healthier options in the food group as well, isn't delivering a good message to young people.

Is it possible to eat like Niomi and not break the bank?
@carinafc38089 жыл бұрын
maybe not :( but it's definitely possible to eat plant based with a very small budget!!!
@rachaelditto36169 жыл бұрын
thanks for the reply. :) i've noticed (since I now work part-time at a grocery store) that veggies aren't too expensive but the price of fruit is crazy. :/
@LivingHealthyandFree9 жыл бұрын
It totally is a possibility! Plantbased foods are some of the cheapest on the planet . For example a bag of rice may cost you about £1.00 and it can last for several meals. Potatoes , fruit, veggies, oats as well can all be super cheap if you just find the right deals. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get healthy :)
@carinafc38089 жыл бұрын
Rachael Ditto I know the feeling! maybe try a farmers market? they often have great deals way better than the store!
@Zanooby9 жыл бұрын
I used to use grocery money on all the junky foods like packaged pasta, crisps bags and chocolate bars, now all that money goes on veggies. When ever I spend good money on veggies, I just tank god im not spending it on some other foods! (point being junky foods will cost the same if not more)

How can she say at 10:23 that there was SO MUCH on the plate? I mean, I'm from Spain, here we have Mediterranean diet and I would say that dinner was healthy but not enough oh my god
@elisecriqui12178 жыл бұрын
Marta510 it's about the size I normally eat. Maybe a bit less. But I was in exchange in Spain for a summer and you Spaniards eat so much 😂 this is coming from an American 😂

@Bargaingirlforlife8 жыл бұрын
she eats enough calories I think. if you read a bit about food you'll know that she ate a lot of good carbs, fibre and protein. vegan diet isn't too hight on protein this they need to substitute with grains, nuts and lemingous veggies. if you tried food like this your know how full yet not stuffed you'd feel. it's great. I eat like that.
@jana.sophie8 жыл бұрын
yes but if you take a look at what "that vegan couple" for example, eats then this doesn't seem like enough food on a vegan diet. When you're vegan you're supposed to eat more than the average meat, eggs and dairy eater.
@Bargaingirlforlife8 жыл бұрын
I suppose that maybe you're right, but the calorie intake depends on age, body fat and acitivity. If you underway, your body starts storing fat and she doesn't look like she's got any on. I eat about that much but I'm 10 years older than her and I'd say it's defo enough and I'm size 6-8. At least for me. She may have faster metabolism and maybe should have more but it works for her.

Even though Niomi is fairly new to KZbin I honestly think she's the best out of all of the British crew, her videos are so helpful and different and I just love them. My goal is to have a healthy lifestyle like her
@kyoujinkrista29 жыл бұрын
I would LOVE to see these videos every week, or however often you can put them up. I also have a plant based diet, but you're a bit healthier than me (haha), so just seeing what you eat gives me lots of ideas and inspo - out of all the youtuber/bloggers - I end up recreating your recipes the most! Gonna give that quinoa and veg a go tomorrow assuming we have some left over :)
