His encouragement when you were running was so sweet

Yeah in a way I wish she would have said I'm so proud of myself but also so thankful for Eric because you can tell he is pushing her and helping her be the best version of her. Felt weirdly selfish or something to not acknowledge that
@m.g.39134 жыл бұрын
@@ShufflingYogi I totally agree with what you said. It's so hard when you can barely deal with yourself to also deal with other people though. From my point of view it's already a great accomplishment that they're doing stuff together.

Ashleigh I’m sure she shows her appreciation for him all the time. She was just feeling proud of what she accomplished at that moment. I don’t think it was selfish personally. I think it’s great to congratulate yourself when you’re sticking to your goals especially if you really struggle with it.
@alexismyrissatorres6404 жыл бұрын
I’m crying because I’ve felt the same way, too. It’s so hard to find the motivation to care about anything, when I care so little about myself. I have to actively tell myself that I’m being irrational. So, lately, I’ve been feeling this sudden kick of motivation, i just want to hold on to. I’ve been going running almost everyday, even when I don’t want to. I feel so much better about myself/my decision to go through with it, afterwards. It’s so relieving to know someone I’ve been subscribed to for such a long time, who has dealt with depression for such a long time, is making some sort of progress. It feels like growth in both you and your channel. A growth I can relate to. So, I hope you know we’re proud of you as an audience. I pray that your progress only continues.

I appreciate you being candid about your struggles with depression. I've always had depression issues as well. Oddly, I find bright sunshiny days hard to deal with and what makes me happy are dark, overcast days. Fall weather is ideal, winter is okay, and I hate summer. It is such an accomplishment to be productive when doing anything but sleeping is a struggle. My dogs make a world of difference in dealing with depression. My mini schnauzer knows when I'm sad and he lays his little head on me and gives me such unconditional love I can get out of whatever bad place I'm in for him.

Also as someone who grew up eating Chinese food (tofu and soy curls being 2 of the main ingredients), it's really interesting to watch a different take on those ingredients. The tofu dishes I grew up eating are good, but you guys cook it so differently, it's so interesting to see how versatile this ingredient can be.

My husband (and myself to a degree) also suffer from seasonal depression. I dealt with, and took medication for depression many years ago. I can tell you that one of the best things we have ever done was moved south. We found ourselves in San Antonio, Texas. Between the amazing culture and history this city has to offer, plus the amazing weather (minimal rain, very mild winters, lots of sunshine) .... we are the happiest we have been in a very long time. If seasonal depression is an issue, I highly recommend (if you can) consider trying out a new city. After Miss Rona goes away of course.

Depression is typically cyclical, but it can also be triggered by a lot of outside influences. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder five years ago. I'm in a cycle now and having a hard time, but I've been pushing myself because I'm currently responsible for my partner's terror-monster-child. So. It's okay. You'll be okay. Girl, keep that running up. It clears your head, embrace it. You're probably experiencing some kind of runner's high which is giving you that emotional burst which some experience as euphoria. When I hit my first 10k on a run I broke down crying and laughing at the same time. I really feel that physical exertion like running or lifting weights helps your mind process things and enables someone to handle day to day stresses.

After doing the NYTIMES no knead bread for a while, I found My Daily Bread in a Crock recipe which allows you to have bread for up to two weeks. This week I want to try making sourdough because I can't find yeast. I also had to buy 12 lbs of soy curls because no smaller amounts were available, so thanks for the recipe ideas. I've successfully tried Mary's Test Kitchen's soy milk and tofu recipe. Make a lot because my batches were small but absolutely delicious. I couldn't stop eating it fresh. on a completely different note, were you ever considering testing how to get seitan out of regular flour? i saw a video on it, where you soak it and rinse it, but i'm not sure how reliable it is, but the idea is super interesting, especially when you can't get seitan (there's none in my area, just ready products made with it)

I'm old enough to have used that method before vital wheat became widely available. It works but it's pretty labor intensive and if you rinse too much flour, you can end up with a rubbery consistency.
